Got great news last month that Fessybuilt is back in business.....somewhat. Jarrod is taking on fab work part time and made me 2 sets of bed rail protectors, one short bed, one long bed. Bob (buffalob) had these made for his truck some time ago right as Jarrod had to move and settle some family business....wanted some for my rigs ever since. I'll probably take the pointy part off the ends though. He includes stainless panhead hardware as well. Wanna find out if Jarrod will build you a set? Called the guy (y'all knew I would........). Truck had alot lower miles when sold by the mine, since then has had unknown number of owners. Seller bought it 3+ years ago and hasn't seen or heard it run, says the guy he got it from said it ran. Said the bed was gone when he got it, he took the t-case for another project. Says the fuel tank "should be there" but doesn't know why it's not visible in the photos. No rear drive shaft. He's gonna swing by his uncle's land where it's stored and get back to me about the tank. Says he has the title, but not in his name. Said he can go get it in his name....... but we all know how that can end up. I'm skeptical about the mileage.... possibility the speedo quit working some time ago. So, while cool and interesting....... this has massive P.I.T.A. written all over it. Especially if the mice have had their way with the wiring....

Appears that everything is properly located, just missing some screws and bolts holding it in place. The two brackets that the shorty console screws to are there (one on the 4x lever assembly, one on the shifter floor plate) I have a few of those shorty consoles, but I'm not certain I have one in the Cordovan. If I stumble across it this week when I'm rummaging for other parts, i'll let ya know.

#8 followed me home today. '87 with rare-er options of floor shifted automatic and power windows/locks. It's a 4.0 with rod knock, A/C, full skid package, 8.25 rear axle swapped in, front disco lock kit, decent 32" KM2's on aluminum mods, roll bar (non factory), bucket seats. Nice solid floors. Just some bubbly surface rust in areas. Paint is OEM and crap. Tail gate has seen it's share of abuse. Pretty damn straight otherwise. I've got an engine for it. Get that installed, clean it up, fix some busted stuff and send her off to a new owner. Would make a great trail rig. 3" lift and 32's are just perfect on these - love how it looks. Shoulda been how they were done from the factory.

Yeah, once I see these being "officially" offered, I'm likely to pony up for a few sets........

Snatched up another pristine Tonka combo..... Jeep Gladiator camper and Corvette on a trailer. :thumbsup: And I got my mini-XJ the other day. Was bummed because it arrived missing an off-road light lens, the rack was barely glued down (loose, about to come off) and the grill guard appears to have been glued where one of the light guards broke leaving a white glue residue. Company won't exchange. They're giving me 15% discount and mailing me a replacement light lens. :rolleyes: Beyond that..... it's pretty cool!

Bumped into the owner of this pristine '88 Pioneer MJ that had a for sale sign in the back window. Unfortunately.... I've forgotten his name, but he's familiar with Naxja and ComancheClub. He bought XJ parts from me some time ago. Asking $6,000 - and worth it. New paint and body Late model HP D30 (non-disco) D44 rear 242 t-case Auto trans Rebuilt engine with 15K miles on it. Vinyl bucket seats, floor shift full center console. Seats are PERFECT. Bed looks like it's never hauled anything - amazing condition. Just a little friendly edjumacation here...... There is no "dashboard". The MJ/XJ dash is one huge assembly. If you're wanting to replace the cracked top surface of your dash, you gotta replace the entire dash. Also...... lol........ there's nothing BUT '92 and earlier MJ's. There aren't any '93 and later.

Ugh, such a shame. Not worth the effort / cost to fix. Those floor pans and unibody seams have GOT to be rotten too.

Besides Jeeps and parts, what other things do you guys collect and gather dust with? I've been collecting pressed steel toys for a long time. Mostly Nylint, Buddy L, Structo, Tonka, Wyandotte and Hubley. Then saw some guy in Hawaii was blending new and old by taking apart Muscle Machines cars - the ones with exaggerated engines, tires and wheels and putting those parts on the old steel toys. Decided to make a few of my own..... This one is a Nylint Hot Rod with cool rat rod patina. I added Buddy L tires and wheels and a blower from a Muscle Machines car. Thinking about taking the blower off and getting some chrome buttons from Hobby Lobby and simulate a tri-carb set up..... Soon to get side pipes. This one got the full treatment. Butchered an entire Muscle Machines roadster. Still needs side pipes. This one is a simple tire & wheel swap. Soon to get 4-link rods for the front and lake pipes. Picked up this amazing Commander with boat and trailer recently: And I've probably got 50 or more other "tin" cars, trucks, etc........ I also collect Danbury Mint, Franklin Mint 1:24 scale die cast, and 1:18 die cast like Ertl. Couple hundred of those dadgum things all in huge display cases. I'm also working on a 50 State license plate collection. Sticking to the 70's era plates where the numbers and state are stamped into the plate, not the later style of flat printed plates. Wish I had the room to collect early peddle cars but I don't..... so I have to keep it VERY selective. I have the one my grandparents got me when I was a kid, and another with a trailer I found on craigs list for stupid-cheap......(started a thread about these earlier somewhere..... lol)

LOL. My dad had a KILLER '70 Road Runner GTX with the 440+6 and 4 speed. I totally get the iron fist....... but that thing was FAR from being accurately compared to being in a velvet glove..... That thing was a beast and a handful to drive. Was actually kind of exhausting after an afternoon of throttle romps and cruising around town. Fun as hell though.........

I did not install it, but I can tell you there's NO way you can re-use your OEM gasket with the CRL window assembly. IF...... you can get that OEM seal out without it tearing, definitely keep it as it's GOLD around here. I've managed to salvage a couple, but usually the glue gets the better of 'em when ya try to pull or cut them out. Lots of people think it's just a gasket that holds the glass in like an early XJ hatch....... NOPE. It's designed to hold the glass, but be glued into the window channel of the cab.

Indeed, these SRT8 Grands are a HOOT! We love our '12. First mods were to get rid of the run flat Pirelli's (rode like absolute @$$ on the streets) and bought Yokohama Parada Spec X. BIG improvement! Then took it to the muffler shop to have them do a resonator delete. Sounds SO much better!
