At it's current height, it's still 4x4. I haven't removed anything, just cut the coils and installed blocks. Everything still clears ok. It's tight all around the D30 diff especially at the upper control arm mount - within a couple inches of the motor mount bracket but even when the suspension bottoms out on the bump stop, it doesn't hit. The driveshaft clears everywhere it needs to. My brothers over on NAXJA put up a plea for me to leave it 4x4 and go with a 242 as well. Would certainly be interesting......

Believe it or not, cutting the coils worked better than installing 4cyl coils. I've done both and I MUCH prefer the ride and handling of the cut OEM coils over the 4cyl coils. The best part? If ya don't like it, stock coils are a dime a dozen and easy to put it back to stock. The rear with lowering blocks leaves a bit to be desired as it is. It jumps and bucks a bit more, but the addition of a traction bar to prevent axle wrap will end that issue. I'm really hoping I can keep it. I really wanna get the rear disc swap, rear sway bar, rod end steering and WJ brakes added to this truck and see what it all does for performance.

Nah, I've got too much time and money just in fenders to get rid of the dually MJ project..... I've paid more for the 2 sets of fenders than I did for the dadgum truck....LOL. Hoping to make some progress on that before November. May not get it running, but hope to get the axle under it, wheels polished and tires mounted, front suspension sorted and the stroker engine/trans setting in the engine bay. Then next spring/summer work on getting it running/driving.

Stomping around my local boneyard looking for other stuff I stumble on a '94 Country with this nearly mint red grill and bezels. Snatched em for this project. Unfortunately.... This project is at risk of having to be let go. The wife informed me recently that, while she likes our SRT8 Grand, she's not putting up with driving it in the winter anymore (can't get Blizzaks for it and all other winter tires for it are $400+ each....). Shes also not a fan of the stiff ride and MPG. She drives a long distance 5 days a week 8-5, I feel her pain. So we've decided to trade in my '11 Ram Cummins 3500 on a '98-'02 Ram Cummins 2500, to get outta that payment, and get her a '14 Grand Cherokee Overland or Summit.... that she can put Blizzaks on, has a better ride, and gets better MPG. This means the SRT8 becomes my daily driver.....yeah I'm not hating on this idea at all.....:D Hoping she'll let me keep the raceTruck....but hard to argue when I will have the SRT8.....:dunno:

Spent quite a bit of time texting/emailing the two people involved here..... tried to salvage a deal but this is a BIG civil mess. The guy that has the truck, bought it from the property owner where it had been "abandoned" for more than a year. He paid $850 for it w/o title (dummy) and discovered the title process is more than he wants to deal with so he put it up on Craigs. Somehow, the owner and title holder found out about the ad and posted up the warning ads, then called the local police to report it stolen. The VIN still comes up as not stolen so I called the P.D. that took the report. They couldn't tell me much but did confirm that the title holder did file a report "that's still being investigated". I'm going to assume that this is going to be a civil issue between the property owner and the title holder. The kid that has the truck now "should" probably be in the clear having bought it under good faith and supported by Colorado law that allows a property owner to dispose of property as he sees fit when left abandoned on their property for more than 30 days. I've told the guy his best bet would be to call the property owner, bring him up to speed on the developments and ask for him to buy it back so that the truck's rightful owners keep their truck. He's gonna let me know how this all turns out. Apparently I'm considered a "witness" now and the P.D. wants to talk to me about what I know....... sheesh. LOL!

When you say "OEM" are you saying the topper is an AMC/Jeep marked piece with an AMC/Jeep part number?

Cool vid. Unfortunately, the edit guy has it wrong. That footage was shot much later than 1953. Several '57 Chevys and Caddys. Apparently they hadn't come up with left turn arrows at intersections yet......saw several left turns that were sketchy as the traffic moved forward...... and that powder blue T-Bird nearly got mangled by the film car....... lol.

The broken part on your manifold is your O2 sensor. Should be a ceramic end with wires that broke off. The wires for the sensor come from along side the valve cover to the front of the engine. They normally run down the intake manifold behind the p/s pump and down along the block to a connector held in place by a bracket off of the oil pan bolts. Surprised your rig is running worth a crap with that O2 sensor being out of the loop.

The sickness continues....... Just acquired another pair of uber-rare dually fenders..... 'cause I needed 'em. No really..... Adam, (Strokermjcomanche) was kind enough to go grab them off a truck found in a UPAP in Cleveland. Rather than pay the retarded fees associated with this new form of UPS and FedEx robbery called "Dimensional weight", I tossed an ad up in the Youngstown Ohio Craigslist Ride-Share listings. A youngster moving from there to Denver was kind enough to give them a ride for a respectable fee for his troubles and fuel. Thanks Adam for wrapping them up so nicely! Worked out very well! :thumbsup: The other set I have: Interesting thing is...... they look the same, but the dark blue ones are heavier, seem to have more layers of fiberglass and they have a lip in the wheel opening where the red ones do not. The dark blue ones feel much sturdier. Unfortunately, the dark blue ones have some fairly significant cracking to the gel coat. Not sure which of the pairs will be the ones used on my truck - depends on the advice I get from someone with fiberglass experience. The red ones have cracks/tears in the fiberglass and bits broken off that need repaired/built back up at the edges. I like the wheel opening lip of the dark blue ones. Seems to add rigidity. I don't believe the Scat Pack Challengers are an SRT product. But I am perplexed as to why they'd add it to the lineup to compete with the SRT. Not much separates the Scat Pack from the SRT8.... Brembo's, seats perhaps, suspension mods....... :dunno:

Cool! Factory power windows and locks! Don't see that often at all. Neat truck. I chuckled when you said "truck sized parking spaces are hard to find"........ a long bed MJ is hardly "truck sized" here in the States. Try parking an '11 Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins Crew Cab long bed ...... dually. :D

2015 Challenger 392 Scat Pack.......... 485 hp / 475 tq. Available with Shaker package and manual / auto transmissions. $38K That's where I'll be headed. 700 hp is just stupid excess and not worth double the purchase price. The Scat Pack will be a whole lotta fun.

After running the truck for a few minutes, turn it off and return after 10 minutes. Twist and pull at an angle on the plastic valve that pops into the booster. You should get a hiss of air as the vacuum is released. If not, the booster and/or the check valve is bad as it's not holding vacuum.

A blue tipped wrench should make short work of the removal of said hitch. :thumbsup:

Um...... you remove the bolts holding it on? :dunno: What's it look like from underneath? Can't tell from the pic what's got you stumped.
