front clip isnt hard. but I believe the dash is a pain and requires cutting of firewall. -
Ok I bought my mj last year and the A/C has never worked. The truck sat for at least 2 years before I purchased it and I haven't driven it much since then since it has a very bad rear main seal leak and as I found out a month ago the drivers seat belt has a lovely rip in it and the po just covered the ripped area with duct and electrical tape....., but what is a jeep without some dodgy safety features? What should be my first steps in getting the A/C working again? How do I tell if it has been converted to R134a? I am guessing just get something like this http://www.amazon.com

91 Eliminator Long Term Build Thread.
HughMann replied to HughMann's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Selling/trading the D44 I picked up because it doesn't fit in to what I want to do with the mj. My plans are now as follows. I am going to start collecting parts over the summer for a lift. I am also going to collect parts for a rear main seal repair and maybe a transmission. I am going to take a class at the local community college which is just basically you renting their auto shop for 5 hours a day 3 days a week because I don't have anywhere to work atm and taking this class a year and a half ago spoiled me on being able to use a lift to work on vehicles, so I am going to do jus -
Also so many ZJ/WJ's with sketch stereo installs

What Vehicles Have A Dana 44 Rear

Also don't just grab a axle without paying attention like I did. I am currently trying to trade a Isuzu Rodeo D44 with 4.78's and drum brakes for a more suitable axle or a transmission because I put the cart before the horse and got blinded by just getting a d44. But I am 90% sure I can swap the drums to disks on mine but the 4.78 gears are a little to low for what i need. But a ford 9" out of a 70's ford truck or big bronco will bolt right up since the spring perches have less than 1 inch difference in spacing as the mj's. -

'86 Comanche Rear Axle Ratio 3.54 Or 3.55?
HughMann replied to tleed's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I was looking at Car-Part last night and the price diference between a V8 8.8 with 3.55's and the V6 with 3.55's was at least $100. also some bronco's came with 3.50's up front with 3.55's out back from the factory. -
'86 Comanche Rear Axle Ratio 3.54 Or 3.55?
HughMann replied to tleed's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You can safely run 3.50's and 3.56's at the same time so 3.54 and 3.55's are fine. -
I was hoping it still had the tail lights as I need one, but I think I am just going to make my own housing and use aftermarket lights. and all the xj's had no front facia's which I need.
