    Hello again

    Welcome back to the forum!
  3. Per my usual nearly 2 year gap of updating I have some progress to share After shifting the truck around, I finally got the nerve to get back into the engine bay and start figuring out this wiring What I have here is the pre and post attempt to quick fire the engine just so i.could hear it run. Figuring this may spark my motivation. Well that turn into a near fire in the engine bay with some wires melting a little bit But it did kick me in the direction in needed to go - painless! This kit cost me nearly $800 but for no joke a conparably painless hour or soo, the engine makes engine noises! First fire video here: . Now I'm just patiently wire looming and routing this engine bay harness. Trying to stay a bit more productive this time around and also updating this thread. More to come
  4. Throw them hoods up! Gonna try to address my short track bar issue While the geometry angle is right - then length of my track bar co.pared to my steering link its rather short. Tentative plan is to offset the frame side track bar mount and then also move the axle side mount to the front of the coil spring or even to the outside of it. Depending on how this goes may even change the long arm setup from a radius arm to a full length 3 link setup. With that comes new axle mounts and also a bit of exhaust work. Not exactly jumping out of my chair to go that far but it's certainly on my mind So we shall see!
  5. Pizzaman09 are you a pizza delivery boy that graduated in 09?
  6. Years ago I had one of my jeeps black flagged by insurance and it was no longer insurable by a specific carrier. They claimed the vehicle was far too modified for legal street use... If I gave you a shot at guessing you may be surprised to hear they black flagged the black XJ. (33s and 3.5" lift) I argued with them for almost a month before I told my insurance agent to pull everything else (home and 3 other autos) and let's find another carrier. To this day I have changed ins carriers 2 times and am back with them and guess what they cover without issue - the orange MJ (ls swapped on 1 ton axles and 37" trepadors) in the first picture an my JK on 35s and 4" lift. Both in my opinion are far more imposing than the XJ ever was. ive never dealt with hagerty because none of my vehicles stay stock for long apparently but i also think there is a level of Who you talk to that can change the outcome. ? No ? for a final note i had my agent send an insurance inquiry to the problem ins carrier I mentioned above when we first signed back on with them with a few pictures and specifically mention "it's his adventure vehicle" They never got back to me
  7. Imagine removing the seam sealed thin sheet of metal from the trans tunnel to "quickly" change the cps at a later date... The level of disregard that would overcome you while swinging a small hammer at the poorly placed chisel in the space under the dash trim and next to the gas pedal
  8. Don't church it up son it's a gaping hole you'll try to cover up. Why lockable? You afraid the cps will escape or something?
  9. For the level of work and time involved with any level of respectable, serviceable approach to an access panel to "quick change" your cps - you could just change out your cps and be done with it. On the other hand if you don't care one bit on the How - just that it's done quickly- well surely a big enough hole saw and some swear words later and you'll have exactly what you desire - a gaping access hole
  10. Sneaky fella with the title. It's definitely intriguing how the comanche profile lands on foreign markets (? I'm not the sharpest on toy markets so I'm just guessing these are foreign) and soo little in the states Personally I'm rather attached to the majorette Cherokee 4x4 1/64 trucks and the majorette super rockers.
  11. Yikes, unfortunate situation? Whichever route you go I wish you best of luck and hopefully you get reasonably what your asking for them? Have you listed them here?
  12. It's taken me this long to recognize this thread.... I'm Alex from the Grand Rapids MI area.
  13. Would you mind speaking a little more on the topic of your fuel tank setup and fitment?
  14. How much did they hit you for on the split rear window?
  15. I try and grease the wheel that squeaks the loudest per say but sometimes it's absolutely a going with the creative flow deal. Currently excited to investigate it more but like I had said above - trying to stay on the current skweek vs entertaining the wobbly wheel that's present. I can appreciate this more than my wife ever could 😜 This is one of those subtle selling points I try and argue to some folks with only minimal success. It only seems to sell with other like minded folks with multiple hobbies. Some want the Swiss army knife - others want the kitchen knife block.
  16. Anyone else secumbing to their distractions? It's prolly why I struggle to finish most projects but when your really wanting a FSJ Cherokee and one comes up at just your right price range.... We'll why not So instead of maintaining the progress to my 73 Jtruck LS swap, I'll squirrel away for a few weeks and eventually get back on track
  17. Behold! 2 shift forks and 2 shift levers. This is just a 3D printed version for trial and error. This is actually Months old and ik just rather late to this party location. At this point it's just a matter of ripping into one of my spare cases and installing this beta setup to validate my idea. I've been holding off until I have the time and funds to 100% dedicate it to finishing this. If this concept works then next would be bringing it to a few different machinist shops to have it duplicated in steel and also having it hardened which could cost me a bit!
  18. Sry, I've been distracted with other projects and haven't made any progress to this. What I keep coming back to though is the approach to securing the tank. I think I'm going to make a tube cradle the tank will sit in vs adapting the tj factory skid. This would attach to the bottom of x-brace in the unibody and then also to the rear bumper. This would act as a skid to completely deflect anything to the rear of the vehicle - adding the tank there definitely begs the attention for potential future hang ups. Again though - just the thought direction for the thing I haven't gotten back to yet
  19. Pontiac Aztec was my suggestion, the only thing it had going for it was being featured on breaking bad
  20. Something I've toyed with the idea of a few times and I've even gone as far as to kinda re-invent the wheel to some degree on how I'd make it work. Current fork has 2 purposes, 2wd/4wd and then also high/low range... can it really be that bad to separate those into independent functions? Also gaining the ability to have 2wd-low range. I realize teraflex makes a 2-low fork but at the $350 price tag I think I could do better and also by not adding a 5th position to the already somewhat clunky factory tcase shift setup.
  21. I came here anticipating pictures of vehicles with every box auto parts store stick on accessory imaginable. Very gawdy accesorizing. I'm not saying I'm disappointed but let's just say there are plenty more abomination-esq vehicles out there over a tesla/cyber truck
  22. That is a bit of a fable. I find chew marks on the soap bars I leave all around the vehicle inside and out after winter storage The smell factor is legit. I also don't see any tampering or nest building with these sheets after winter storage either
  23. Fuel pump isn't too hard a problem to resolve. Just adapt a higher rated fuel pump into your existing sending unit. Just Google research a bit under the criteria of jeep MJ LS swap fuel pump and I'm sure you can figure it out. Mine currently is setup with a fuel cell and inline walbro pump. Eventually I'd like to get this TJ tank and pump setup fitted to my liking and run that but what I have works for now
  24. Don't push out the possibility that front D44 could be bent as well. Not uncommon at all. I think what your asking is a rather unfair question though. What's it worth- your intentions- your abilities. There's a few unknowns here. What could be considered your mild to wild can very drastically from one other on here consider at both ends of that spectrum. A cheaper route for trial and error I would suggest- get a moderate lift (3" or soo) get some bigger tires. Find a Ford 8.8 w/ the lsd and 4.10 gears. Gear swap the d30 to match and then go wheeling. You may realize your already more than capable enough for your intended needs.
  25. The mj unibody rail isn't parallel to the rockers like it is on the XJs. Like Pete mentioned, absolutely could do it but the legs going to the actual unibody would have to be modified
