I'm still sour over the early and late Gladiator ordeal... based on a topic of reviving retired models from decades ago. Its not a new opinion, the new gladiator looks more like a 4 door scrambler... Atleast I'm sure we can expect an actual relatable design structure to the original scrambler soo that will be nice - id rather not see an ifs version of this but understand also - the new customer base expects a level of ride quality and comfort that a solid axle front maybe can't compare

Not much arctic going on anymore here... 10yrs+ ago sure but lately we have a solid winter for about a month around feb-March. Otherwise its nearly sweatshirt/hoodie weather all "Winter" long Township ordinance is 8ft max height. Planning a 6' minimum panel setup then potentially a 2' lattice or other feature depending on how the future new neighbors carry themselves

Thats seems to be the consensus ive been finding. Most who buy the pre-made panels either wind up with moldy panles being delivered or poor quality and fitment overall. Follow up question... I plan to set mine 4' deep (atleast 3.5' to beat the frost line in Michigan) I figure the bottom 6" will be gravel/small stone to help disipate water BUT then how much of that remaining 3.5' would i do in concrete?

Any wood fence builders or folks that have built their own wood privacy fence? Atm outside of panel construction and not going into the vinyl fence stuff - wood only - how do you set your posts? Sand and gravel, cement, foam, forced into untouched ground? Whats your experience pro/cons on post setting? Epic sunsets for now but soon we'll be shrouding by new modern housing...

Yea I'm aware of them, but for the price and comparison to how close I have mine setup to where id like the seat - I'll make another set from more leftover material I have on hand

Junkyard haul recently Carpet, bench seat, b pillar trims, seat belts Naturally the seat mounts were rotten off soo i eyeballed with a tape measure and came up with my own mounts from leftover sheet steel. My issue now is the seat mounts are too tall. Going back to the board on a 2nd set but for now she can atleast sit in it and make engine noises until I freshen up battery cables and a fuel system.

Hello and welcome to the MJ build for my wife. Together since 2007 and she has dealt with my Jeep hobby since before then! I aquired this one after initially hunting down a project for someone else and after said person bailed and I had learned more of the technical details - i splurged and made it part of the lineup. What you see is a rattle can camo tan paint job, newer body style doors, fenders and front clip, Ford 60 front and 10.25 rear on stock gearing, custom 3 link front end. Unibody plated from back of cab-forward and I'm guessing 8-10" lift? 4.0, aw4 and 231 tcase. Jeep has a 96XJ harness setup. The Plan! Pretty it up and make it run/drive as a cruise-driver. Axles are a bit overkill for the initial intended use but over time when she gets more comfortable in it we will introduce her to some casual wheeling. She's a touch timid behind the wheel in the offroad parks soo some color tour style trails exploring will be the total extent. New paint job is a must! along with missing interior bits. No brakes, shocks or driveshafts atm either. More to come!!

Forgive me I steam rolled most of the quote. All very good points. I've followed rich rebuilds for a while during his Tesla LS swap and the Tesla repairs they were doing on the cheap - very much like what you brought up. It was interesting to see the "hack" but more soo practical quick repairs. I say still though - apples to apples, the EVs have a long way to go if they ever upset the naturalization of gas/oil vehicles, we got deep roots. Scenes from I Robot and Demolition Man comes to mind on the upset of gas/oil. "You know gas explodes on impact right!?" Ha!

Trickle down economics is what comes to mind on the turn over, soo long as both vehicles run and drive - eventually someone not in the higher tiers per say can aquire them and still maintain the gasser- but if the electric is an acomody of finance to afford the maintenance then the e-vehicles won't trickle down as effectively. Honestly question - where are all the E-vehicles from the ~2000s era? Anyone digging them up in car culture Land and reviving them - id argue again its not as fluent a practice

We did the tesla experience a few years back for a batch. Party. It was a good time - but the math on "fuel savings" lead to you'd have to drive that Tesla for 20 years exclusively to overcome the cost investment to make those fuel savings worth it - surprise - no one is driving the same purely electric vehicle for 20 years straight. Goes against the current culture behind electric devices - update and upgrade fluently!

Its been a little while and theres been a level of progression i havent kept up on here Soo the big news is this jeep moves under its own power now - not exactly well enough for a trip down the street and around the block but I can atleast shuttle it around my driveway without engaging exhaustion. till troubleshooting this sputter though and I'm pretty sure its still over fueling/under fueling. No check engine codes besides egr stuff thats no longer there S

How about breathalyzers and Gforce monitors for all drivers 16-25? Or the option for them and the back end would be manageable insurance rates/discounts... I'm aware how I believe its progressive that has the dongle if you keep it in your vehicle and prove your not a wild driver you get a discount. Breth test would be purely there to annoy and hopefully instill the younger crowd away from drunk driving or driving under the influence. I'm all for the natural selection of the very simple minded but when the stupid decisions of others wind up taking the lives of others not involved - pretty unfortunate

Is the point of the list just trails ? Scenic outdoors? Or wheeling destinations that also sport the scenic stuff? Why not add windrock in Tennessee to your list? Rubicon is on mine and if all plans hold i will see it next fall of 2027

Thankfully that is a fad that has more soo came and went from our community. There is Absolutely still the bro's and their super groups doing their thing but on the week to week basis in my city/highway driving (roughly 60 miles round trip everyday for work) I maybe come across 2 trucks with the dumpster tips almost touching the ground and there's enough excess but not excessive coal/exhaust to say "ooh they let out a little chooch"

No idea what the highest legal speed limit is in the USA. However, you sound a lot like you hate apple pie, bald eagles, and freedom. Also, this is why I don't daily a 1980's vehicle anymore. I will in the summer around town, but it just doesn't cut it on the modern highway. I'm not going to demand that everyone else change for me, that's selfish, and a lot like hating apple pie. Honestly this was the only part I read.... I don't hate freedom and I don't live in the 80s era for daily driving
