If it is the front freeze plug (welch plug) then you may not have to remove the intake. There is a good write-up here with lots of pics: gojeep.willyshotrod.com.com the site was down when i tried to post the direct link

I got friends that live(d) in Woodbine... I used to drive up from Omaha to visit them... I think one of the twins moved back to Woodbine with her Husband a few years ago... Dad was a cop a few years ago, but I think retired now. I *was* a Nebraska kid, but moved to Cali just over 10 years ago. How many were in on those "visits"? 2 or 3? Twins!! your the man.

There is one at a shop near my house that looks like it might be a M715. I will get some pics. I was gonna ask if they want to sell it.

Getting them out wasnt too bad, we cut the whole tranny tunnel out (it was the donor). Good idea to replace them tho.

The play in your steering wheel is probally from your trac bar. Try pulling the cotter pin and tightening down the castle nut (the one in the bracket at the frame end). Mine kept coming loose cause the hole had in the bracket was no longer round. I replaced the bracket and trac bar (altho you may only need to replace the bracket)yesterday and it feels like a new truck

Axle seal replacement question

I think the axle needs to be removed rob Theres a write up here: http://madxj.com/ -
I took my rear flares off (to put a black set on)and.....you gussed it, all the bolts snapped? What size/length bolt should I use to reattach them? Did you drill the head out of the metal plates? or not use them? I'm thinking ill drill them out and reuse them.

track bar bushing worn out can i still drive?
maddzz1 replied to comanche13's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Do you have alot of play in the steering wheel? If so its probally the bracket. Mine keeps coming loose (the castle nut) because the bracket hole isnt round anymore. I have to replace it on Monday (if it don't rain). It has been this way for a while. If I tighten it down it drives like a new truck. Rockauto has a replacment tracbar for like $35, and you can get the bracket for like $25 at a junk yard if it is the bracket. -
Do XJs use the same type of connector at the cluster end?

Are you doing a 4WD conversion? The 2WD and 4WD trannys are different also.

I agree with all of this and have used more than my share of just about anything you can think of in my earlier years. I also agree with jpdocdave that alot of it was a waste. But I would never want to go back and change the experiences I had.

Replacement Fuel Injector Install Writeup?
maddzz1 replied to SuperWade2's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
  Thats more than the injectors cost   You only need two kits...so it would be $34...but, you are almost right. The injectors are about $20 each when you break the price down :shake:  OK. I thought it was $17 each, one for each injector. I will pick them up before i do mine then too. -

CCV and power steering trouble shooting
maddzz1 replied to ocskipper's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
napa has the ccv tubes for the 4.0 but i couldnt find any for the 2.5 Did you check rockauto.com? For the PS, I would clean everything real good then watch it to see where it is leaking. I thought i had a rear main leak on my XJ and after cleaning everything i found a leaking tranny line; the rear main was fine. -
I am putting in a set of precision injectors in and changing the fuel filter. How long do i need to wait for the fuel pressure to minimize after driving the MJ before releasing the remaining pressure with the schraeder valve? Also, what is the part # for the o-ring kit? how many o-rings do i need in total?
-
i think it looks good, but it would blend better with the bumper if you painted them black

The other issue is the crime and violence that goes along with illegal drug activity. In switzerland they started giving heroin addicts the choice of methadone or heroin at a clinic. This dropped the crime rate 90% and people were able to maintain emplyment because they didnt have to spend the day trying to cop and being sick.
