  1. c'mon HB, you know the drill, pics man, pics! sounds to me like a $1000-$1500 truck the sub-100k miles and as cleans as the rest of your description reads. :chillin:
  2. I think it depends on the colors being used, i.e. which one goes on the top or bottom........uh, freudian slip there, and i think with those colors the dark blue wouldn't work as an accent color to silver. but no matter, you weren't considering that anyway.
  3. the most important thing is communication. if he has a legit reason, or even if he's just "dropped the ball", he should have communicated by now. in addition to my other question if he still has items for sale, how long has he been a member, how many posts does he have, and has he had any posts or interaction w/other members since your last communication? point being, if he hasn't responded to you but is conversing w/other members recently, i'd take that as not a good sign about him honoring the deal. unless he's a member that is highly involved here or sells a lot of items, unfortunately he may not care if he gets called out and banned, he'll just move on to another site and do it again. good luck......
  4. Wouldn't the first thing be to report them to Pete so he can lock them out until something gets resolved? Does this person currently have other items for sale on here?
  5. Brent, I've always liked your dark blue, but I'm a big fan of the two tone look. I just like the contrast it gives, especially when the primary color is dark. If your Ram and your Wrangler are two tone, seems logical to follow. I vote two tone. What program did you use to photochop? I have a factory two tone maroon and "argent" and i've been debating on what to do when i clean up the surface rust on the lowers. I.e. repaint it argent/silver/charcoal/titanium (whatever), or black. Then I went a step further and in just the past few days decided I wanted a spit two tone, i.e. primary color top and bottom, secondary color in the middle. I had settled on black primary and maroon secondary, but have also considered flipping those or doing maroon primary and argent secondary. I wish I had the sofware to photochop because just seeing yours, especially in flash mode, would really help me feel good about my decision.
  6. found another brute on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2000-Jee ... dZViewItem and there is a super nice 1980 J truck, under 100k, @$6k, but i digress....again.....so back to the brutes
  7. Pat, man, did someone take a leak in your Wheaties this morning? LOL Bringing the Comanche plow truck in to the Brute topic is my fault (which I just realized I need to apologize to MFPDM for unintentionally hi-jacking his thread) because I said let's bet on the sales price of the Brute like I did the first time that MJ was on eBay, and then I said we may as well bet on that truck again too. So :beerhead: and place your bet! :D
  8. ...........and just got this message back from the owner as to why he is selling the Brute. No changing bids!! Or I'll send you a $#!+ scented tree! "I'm selling for financial reasons. I hate to see it go, but right now I don't have much choice. - fanderatm"
  9. I'm sorry, did you say "hundreds"? And where exactly are you located?
  10. Nobody will answer your questions until you post pictures. Newbie rule :laughin: Because................... :needpics:
  11. Just added a link to the MJ Plow Bucket :D
  12. Damn! Coconut? That and the Pina Colada make me wanna hurl as soon as I smell it. And in that small cab? Talk about STRONG! I guess a positive would be if you got the lady riding along you don't have to skip the mexican restaurant, cuz you could blow major a$$ and all she'd be smellin is Hawaiian Tropic bro! :brows:
  13. Those aren't frames, they're friggin art!
  14. I said this on an earlier Brute thread, but as much as I love them I HATE the Land Rover Discovery raised roof that I've always seen on them. Amazingly enough, this is the first time I've seen one with a std roof. In fact, this steel grey one has just become my dream Jeep. It looks like this one has 37s, I think I'd be ok with 33s. And a black top. Done. http://www.oman4x4.com/gallery/slidesho ... Name=brute Image Not Found Image Not Found
  15. I don't think he'll get $37k for it, but I think someone will plunk down over $30k for it. I sent him a message asking why he was selling a month after doing the build. My guess is w/low miles and the Rubi most likely paid off, he's looking to make a buck after doing a lot of the work himself. Ok, so with this I think we should have the second edition of the "Comanche Club Price Is Right" like I did for the 12k MJ plow truck. Actually, since that is back on eBay, we should play again for that one and do the Brute too. The prize, of course, will again be a Little Tree Air Freshener of your flavor choice that may, or may not, actually be delivered to you. $250 swing + or -, so $500 swing total on bets. I.E. a $31k bet covers you from $30,750 - $31,250. Event organizer gets first vote: Brute: $32,445 MJ Plow Bucket: $5,200, too many "educated" buyers on the second go-roundClick Me Tree Flavor: why, Vanillaroma of course, just because of the name! A few other samples and link for your flavor of choice, including one for you Jeff Gordon fans, err, Rainbow Slammers, I mean Warriors out there (to which Junior is gonna steal your thunder this weekend!). http://www.little-trees.com/products/trees.asp Traditional-America's favorite since 1952 (can you believe that?!) If you don't have fun just saying this flavor, you don't get it.... This one is just pure marketing genius. One product covering two completely different demograhphics. They can not only sell this to manly Nascar fans, but to, uh, "non-manly" fu-fu fans. Know what I mean Vern? :D And having just discovered this one, quite possibly one I would ACTUALLY hang from my mirror cuz it's funny, cool and cheesy rolled in to one. Let the games begin........
  16. Ha Ha Pat! I tell you what, I respect your honesty, especially as such a die-hard MJ fan. x2 for me. If I could justify it, well in my mind I can justify anything, but if I could afford to make it my DD I would. But my car is solid as a rock w/20mpg city and 32hwy so it wouldn't make sense. My MJ is just a cheap and cool toy for now. :chillin:
  17. No reason to shut up, that was a great little ride and view. Wow! Definitely a place I plan on visiting one day. I've been up to Bellingham, WA before on a short business trip. The pacific northwest is some of the most beautiful area I've ever seen, and I am hugely biased living in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley and Blue Ridge Mountains. I'll never forget the drive from Seattle up to Bellingham right on the coast line. Huge trees and mountains on the right, ocean down below on the left. The experience of having both of those sights in the same view was incredible. And I apologize for taking away from "the moment" here, but I gotta ask. In the pic from inside of your cab it looks like your hood is black, or some kind of dark color, not the rust/burned orange as in your avatar? I gotta know because if I didn't have a burgundy interior, I'd paint my MJ that same color.
  18. back then i'm not sure if an AM radio even came stock, i think if you bought a base model with NO options, you got NO radio. i think you had to option up to a radio/cassette unit before you got 4 speakers. even though there are locations for speakers in the dash, i don't believe they ever even offered any for there, i.e. if you only had 2 speakers you got the 5 1/4s in the door.
  19. Jeff (or Jerry if your reading), was there any ghost effect apparent after he pulled them off? Obviously the trucks are about the same age but if Jerry's truck has been in VA or Mid-Atlantic it's whole life it's lived through harsher weather than SW2s (I believe it's been a West Coast truck all its life), which could make the contrast between Jerry's paint more noticeable. I think even though it is only one sample to go by for Wade, it's about as apples to apples as he's gonna get. Very curious to know............ :hmm:
  20. I usually approach things that way, i.e. be patient so when I do something, I do it right the first time. I've pointed out on here several times that I'm usually willing to pay a little more for things, but not "just because", but if I see value in it. Definitely a big believer in "do it right now or pay more later". But all that goes out the window for now :laughin: because the MJ is as much a hobby as it is something to help me around the house, but I do want some kind of instant gratification. That being said, I can't justify spending anything that much on a lift right now when it's nothing more than for fun, there's just not enough cash left at the end of the month. And, there's other things that should be done with that money even if I end up spending it on the truck, like clean up what little rust I have before it becomes a lot. So, $50 or less vs. $300 to get the back end up, for now, is a no brainer. Which brings me back to the beginning of my thread LOL! If I can find a set of MT packs for under $100, I won't have the issues of an AAL and should still get some lift and the payload increase I want, again, until I buy all new packs. OR, just do shackles for a 3" front and 1.5" rear, ha ha.
  21. Damn that 20's got a pumpkin on it! So how rare were these and under what spec were they put on MJs?
  22. Brent, long term I want to do the same, and get the Big Ton rated packs from Hell Creek or from General Spring (like Hornbrod's). The reality is, I've been bitten by the bug so bad I can't wait so I'm willing to ride AALs for awhile (CHEAP solution as we all know), plus they'll give me a little payload help. Again, fortunately my rig is not a DD and will be on very few long trips so a stiffer ride is not a huge deal for now. I still haven't ruled out just going the shackle route either though. Basically I guess you could say I'm just going down the same path as most owners by starting out with the economy lift. But even still, I don't intend on ever lifting more than 3", so I'll just want to end up with a quality long term setup with new packs.
  23. you didn't happen to notice if it was a metric ton did you? what did it have for rear leafs considering it was lifted? congrats too, nice score.
  24. You go girl! Welcome............
  25. Sorry Dad, we'll stop picking on him. We were only trying to have fun. Right guys? :laughin: Sweetpea, it's all good man, no biggie! truck killer
