  1. I'm sure it's chrome like the one pictured! :laughin:
  2. How many lights are supposed to be behind the HVAC controller. I see one, and it appears to be broken off, i.e. that normally it is a permanently attached piece of plastic. Thanks.......
  3. now THOSE are some sa-weet bumper guards on the old pic Jeff. LOL
  4. cool. so what's the diff between and ax5 and ax15 if they are both aisin built? gear ratio's? which one is considered the better tranny. looking at another parts truck.
  5. your jack assembly should be 3 pieces: the jack; a thick, folding lug nut wrench; and a long, skinny folding jack crank handle. the crank handle, as noted, is what you insert in to the tube to crank down the spare.
  6. which 5 speed was behind an 86 2.8, puke or aisin?
  7. Cool. To clarify, I may be interested in the motor of the 89.
  8. Hilarious. So, what are you keeping? I might be interested in the 89 4.0 depending on miles etc. Let me know........
  9. JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZ I SWEAR there is some kind of undercover deal going on in friggin Wiscahnsin, land of the $500 Jeep! I don't think a day goes by I look on here and see one of you cheeseheads throwing perfectly good Jeeps at one another for next to nothing!!
  10. Yup, I was tracking them too. AMAZED they sold for that high, and that's not the first set to go for big money????
  11. for that kind of money and 250k on it, it better have the rest of the truck still attached to it!!
  12. Sorry, I couldn't find the thread we were all on just a few weeks ago talking about the possibility of a new Jeep pickup, be it the Gladiator show truck, Brute, or other versions rumored about. Buuuuut, a friend of mine has asked me to help him locate and buy an International CXT to pull his horse and cattle trailer. If you are not familiar with this truck, it is bad as hell. Go to www.internationaltrucks.com and check it out. Like a F650 pickup you've probably seen or GM C4500 etc, but International's version. So anyway, I also ran across this PDF on their site as I was browsing for inventory at dealers. The article is about the MXT, which is another version of the CXT and International's answer to Hummer H1s. Again, bad @$$ truck (except the VT365 motor has some issues. Also, Int'l now has a huge military contract as the MXT will be one of the replacements for Hummers, and they realized they could just throw out a civilian version right away like when Hummer went public. But I digress.). Anyway, check out the spy photo of the Jeep pickup on the magazine cover. Notice the chopped off bed as the rear shackles are literally hanging off the bumper and they have fitted a hard top from an Unlimited on it to conceal what it really is. I think someone may have referenced the Jeep portion of this article on that previous thread, but as always, the pics speak in much larger volumes. Interesting.............. http://69.20.127.42/StaticFiles/interna ... eprint.pdf **If the link does not work, go to Intl's website, click on trucks, MXT, and then on the right you will see a link to the Motor Trend article. Actually, you all really! need to just check out the MXT. What's a Hummer? http://www.internationaltrucks.com/port ... d0eb0aRCRD
  13. I can tell you that as a fleet/sales/operations mgr for commercial trucks for a large company for 8yrs, the most frustrating thing was the interpretation of Fed Hwy Safety Regs. Key word: INTERPRETATION. Man, I can't tell you how many times we'd get a call w/one of our trucks on a scale or on the shoulder with Johnny Law-Dawg saying such and such was out of compliance w/our trucks etc. All of our trucks were non-cdl, and the #1 problem was that I spec'd most of them w/air brakes, to which 90% of the cops and inspectors thought that meant you needed a cdl. NO YOU DON'T. You only need an air brake endorsement (i.e. CDL) if you are hauling hazmat. Again, this is because our trucks were non-cdl. But if you are driving a truck that is cdl, 26,001 lbs GVWR or greater, yes you need the air brake endorsement in addition to the cdl requirment. Now while I digress to the CDL issue, my point is the same in regards to retreads, it is widely misinterpreted as to the federal regs on retreads and caps.
  14. i didn't read everyones response closely to see if this was mentioned, but i'm sure a lot of the plastic that still ends up in the dump is the types that can't be recycled. anywhere i've ever lived that offered that service you can only put #s 2 & 3 (i think) in the bins. a lot of stuff is #1, #6 etc and people just throw any type of plastic in there. i am probably wrong on the correct #s, but you get the point.
  15. ha, that's funny. adam, i wonder if the right set of bimmer rims would look good on a 2wd manche street ride?? i could see some M-pars on one! i've been trying to sell the 16" OEs off my 525 and get some M6 reps, man i love the look of those!
  16. Every time I've lived somewhere that offered the service, we did it. And then when you don't have it, you definitely realize how much crap is going in that landfill that could either be re-used or will still be there in 1000 years. Like you, we're not granola crunchers so when we don't have the service, unfortunately, we have not gone out of our way to do something about it. And yes, when we've had the service, we do feel good about doing our small part.
  17. Adam, if you buy it, I hope the first thing you do is bag the Mazda rims.

    cdl

    congrats.......who are you driving for?
  19. Uh, Lucy, splain to me again why no cleanie the valve cover? How is anything going to drop down in the motor if you clean it, let it dry out or whatever before you put it back on???
  20. Yeah, sorry, when I said "in the garage" I was meaning "fixing". But back to the interesting stuff......hmmmm, not your scoot huh? The other one is your uncle's scoot huh? Curiouse how they both have the brown seat with the white piping? But like I said, a real man can scoot in pink, and with that cool helmet and a 4-oh head on the floor, you could pull it off. I like Wade's idea: maybe throw some of those old Yamaha Fat Wheel tires on there (remember the FW 200 w/the atv tires on a motorcycle?) and some chopper forks
  21. you da man TNT, you thread saver you! LOL
  22. Ok, did a little research and now I remember it. Personally, I think it's bad as $hizzle. Would I do it, no. But I still love it. And good call on leaving the sawzall in the box and keeping the stock flares. Now, for my nickels worth, I'll add that I definitely agree w/you wanting to put a roll bar on it. Looks unfinished w/the killer paint and no more bling IMO. And as high as it is, I'd like it w/some chrome nerfs too. For sure though, I don't think you could pull it off if it wasn't a long bed. If it was a short bed it would like one of those cartoon rigs (that's what I call them) like when you see a CJ5 or Samurai on 44's. At least yours still has some proportions to it. I agree w/Pete it would be cool if you had just kept one big thread alive and changed the title along the way w/new pics. Our wives all watch Trading Spaces because they like the before and after effect, we watch MJ projects for the same reason. Maybe we could get Paige Davis to prance around in some tight jeans and one of her "too tight and doesn't cover her hot belly button" shirts for all of our project threads? :brows: Image Not Found Ok, I guess conversing w/all you gearheads at midnight is getting to me
  23. Why not? TNT, why do a 2dr XJ/MJ cross breed? I know part of it is for your back, but it's also because it's what YOU want. JPholic, IMO, I think the problem might be you don't have enough good pics of it to get comments. One front end shot in the garage and some dark undercarriage shots. If you had a previous post w/more pics that I missed, throw this in the trash. But, I for one would like to see it out of the garage and in the sunlight. The only MJs I've seen that big were not MJs but just a body put on a chevy frame or something. And for some reason, that has always just been cheesy to me. If I am correct, it looks like you have a custom fabbed Jeep product true to it's design..........for the most part...........I think. Sooooooooo........ :needpics: (I've always wanted to use that smiley, now's a good time :D )
  24. If anyone can think of a more deceptive go-fast mobile, I'd like to see it, because that ol' bird is way cool!
  25. C'mon, admit it. That's your cute little scoot that you ride while your MJ is in the garage. Only a real man can scoot in pink! ;) Good think I'm not one of them! :rotfl2:
