  1. It's a great story but a bogus one......... :chillin: http://www.snopes.com/critters/cruelty/dynamite.asp
  2. I think "cool" is clearly what you are buying here, and I think that goes for most Scrambler owners also. My guess is not too many Scrambler owners had visions of doing a lot of "truckish" things with them as you say. I wouldn't say this design is a waste. I think they've hit on a small niche and provide a poor man's Brute in a kinda sorta way. Can you say classic Bronco 1/2 cab here? I WOULD have liked to see them extend the frame and bed 12 inches though, just to get a little more usefulness out of it (read: carry a dirt bike) but then you've got a lot more material and labor driving the price up. Bottom line, I'm sure there's a few home-brewed fabs like this out there already, now there's just someone building them for sale in small quantity.
  3. From looking at their sight, it's all based on them taking an LJ Unlimited and half cab it. You can do as little or as much as you want after that, i.e. no lift, lift, std hard top resized or AEV hard top, etc. As they advertise, it's light duty. Either way, I think it looks pretty cool.
  4. Ran across this on ebay and then saw the link to their site. First time I've seen or heard of these. Anybody had any experience with them. Look pretty nice, not a whole lot you could do with it, but definitely different. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... ink:top:us www.rubitrux.com
  5. Like TJ said, you won't get a bed from them. They have some good prices on some parts, others as note just ok. They are a dealer out of Texas I believe, and a similar site is www.wholesalemopar.com which is a dealer out of Fla. Unforutnately, some parts still show as available and you can go all the way through checkout, then get an email a couple of days later with what is no longer available. Best bet if you know it is a hard to find part is to call them direct. I thought I found some super secret site and tried ordering floor pans from wholesalemopar and learned the hard way LOL. Don't forget BLHTAZ is a parts man at a Jeep dealer and even offers to pass on any discount he can in selling to the public, and best of all as a die hard MJ owner, you'll get a straight answer on if a part is still available out there or whatever. One of the guys on here bought the motor from 99NCXJ and said the bed he has for sale is super clean........just and fyi.
  6. i assume that is just a 5 1/4 that someone mounted to the knee panel of your dash? cuz that aint stock...........
  7. Ahh, the Screamin' Chicken! How do you like yours?
  8. Don't worry about the keg Wade, I've got 400 cases of Coors! :D
  9. uh, clearly a long bed
  10. I'd say replacing the bulb first is your best bet. Did you pull it out and look closely to see if the filament was broken? Anyway, if you haven't bought them before, #37s or #74s will both work from Advance Auto. I haven't tried the 74s, not sure what the difference is, they list the same wattage on the pkg, so I don't think one is brighter than the other. And yes, the headlight symbol should light up.
  11. The LSD or Trac-Lok D44s should have a tag on the diff that warns to use fluid for a LSD only. you don't wanna swap out those Big Ton packs for some std's do ya? :brows:
  12. I would guess that the std packs would provide more flex, simply because the 5 leaf packs are probably stiffer to handle payload. Not sure myself what the "long leaves" option is. If you find out, please post.
  13. Did I stutter? LOL Been thinking about changing my avatar to this
  14. Wade1, it's that last slice of cheddar off the 50lb'r out in the garage that's making your sammi taste like RDS! :rotfl2:
  15. std MJ packs are 3+1, 1 being the overload spring. that gives you std payload. 4+1's are to replace the Big Ton (or Metric Ton as it is also called) packs, or to upgrade to from your std packs if you want more payload. I think Hellcreek's std packs are rated at 950lbs and the heavy packs at 1440lbs. Of course part of the load is transferred to your front end, so these ratings do not represent total payload capacity, but specific load ratings of the spring if I am correct. By name, obviously, the Big Ton package from the factory was rated for a 1 ton payload, 2205lbs actually. But again, from the factory that included heavier coils and a few other beef ups such as the D44.
  16. 'course, I still am fond of my Big and Little Enos Burdette avatar. Absolutely the greatest movie ever made.
  17. Ok Wade1 and Wade2, I don't know how anyone doesn't like mayo. I think Hellman's can make rubber dog $#!+ taste good! :D
  18. First of all, been meaning to tell you how jealous I am that you thought of putting Hong Kong Phooey on your avatar. One of the coolest cartoons ever. And there's only 2 mayo's that belong on your list. Duke's and Hellmans. I don't know why, but I like Duke's better in chicken salad etc., but love Hellmans just as a spread or on burgers and such. So I'm a half for each. LOL to the guys out there thinking A)who cares about mayo, B)who the hell ever heard of Duke's, to which, yes, they have been neglected by not having tasted it. Yes JT, I too will talk about anything here.
  19. http://www.hellcreeksuspensions.com/jeep.htm you get a discount if you are a member here i think
  20. John Q and Highdesert, if you haven't already, I think you need to PM each other and confirm if it is the same person. If it is, IMO, once might be a mistake, but twice means it's intended and therefore it's time to call him out before #s 3, 4, and 5 get burned too. Just another one of my $.02 worth, which brings me to about 6 or 8 cents on this thread :D
  21. uhhhh sweetpea, how could you do blocks on the rear when an MJ is spring under? that would lower it..............
  22. Yeah JT, I know the wife said cheap, but the thread topic asked "what's it WORTH?", not "what would you pay?" LOL I just took the question literal. :chillin:
  23. Naw, they're nice wheels dude. They look a bit much by themselves, but I bet when you get a pic of them on the truck, they will look awesome, especially with the MTs, great looking tire.
  24. Looks nice. Interesting twist on the 2 tone there. There is another thread going on right now with opinions on 2 tone paint etc. First time I've seen it with the "upper" portion as secondary. Not sure why they didn't wrap it around the gate though.
  25. SWdeuce, good analogy on the Wisco boys!! I saw that one too a few days ago, truly someone misguided. I mean, basic common sense would tell you a 22yr old truck is not worth anywhere near that much. At least try to BS me in your ad and tell me how great it is or that it's the next great Jeep collectible etc etc. Wow....
