  1. LOL Chico! Your post hit while I was typing mine and w/out reading yours I was about to make reference to the Wisco boys like I always do, but I thought I'd let him catch on to that on his own or let somebody else throw it out there. Notice my mention of the goofy stuff we end up talking about sometimes like JT's mayo thread. Hilarious! Did you say I was corny?
  2. Just look at everyone's signatures, a very high percentage also own XJs, particularly as DDs. So I think it's safe to say a lot of guys have "double degrees" here with a "major" in MJs and a "minor" in XJs, and the play on "degree" isn't too exaggerated because there is an incredible amount of knowledge here IMO. And!, it has a great mix of humor; lots of fun zingers, ball breaking, sarcasm and some stupidly funny waste of time polls in discussions in The Pub (JTDesigns wants to know if you've ever had Duke's Mayo and if not what's your favorite--Vote Now!) and what not, but almost never over the top and even less frequently personal. When that rarity occurs it seems to be worked out through PMs, as it should be, and harmony remains. I liken loggin on to the CC everyday like this...........
  3. "Captain, uhhh, you're gonna need a bigger boat" Image Not Found Damn that is trenormous!
  4. Are you specifically referring to floorpans?
  5. 88XJ, welcome. When I bought my MJ in 9/07 I found jeepforum.com, and you were one of the first few members I exchanged posts with. In fact, I believe you and I are the last two posts still showing under the specs sticky.
  6. Std 3" arc/lift on the AAL, not sure which brand he used. Don't know the part # or model year for the chevy shackles were. One advantage they may have is they have 2 holes and from what guys have reported there is about 1" of lift difference between the two mounting positions, so some added flexibility.
  7. Yes, just unscrew and remove the dash bezel and the cig lighter "pod" just unscrews. Super easy.
  8. SooooperWade Deuce! I've always been really picky about those wheels. On some rigs I like them, on others I don't. I think it's certain color and tire combos that just "fit my eye". That being said, your TJ is beautiful, and I think they look VURY nice on the MJ. Another nice score!
  9. At current exchange rates, that's about $10k US, pretty steep. But it's a little nicer than the $10k "possible museum piece" on AutoTrader.com LOL!
  10. Go to page 3, 4th post. I recently discovered the same thing and added the info to a previous thread about interior lights TAZ posted. Sorry about the bad camera phone pic of the bulb you are talking about. And get a 1891LL, i.e. long life, instead of a regular 1891 bulb as I mentioned. http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopi ... c&start=30 :chillin:
  11. Are you re-arching the springs yourself or paying a shop to do them? If you are paying someone, you may as well just buy new packs from Hell Creek or one of the lift companies that offer full packs. Hornbrod got his from another spring specialist and really likes them, I can't remember the name but I'm sure he'll see this and identify. TAZ has the Hell Creeks and I think he's pretty happy with them too. Based on your first sentence of doing a "cheap lift" you can always go the AAL route and extended shackles. You definitely don't want to accomplish that much lift through shackles alone though. tjbliley just did about the same amount of lift and he did an AAL and chevy drop shackles and netted a solid 4" he said. As for the tires, depends on other factors, i.e. if you want max flex or if "really good flex" meets your wheelin needs so you can put more tire under there for looks. I think the 32's would look good IMO. If you haven't already, don't forget to factor rubbing depending on what wheels your using and if you've done anything w/your LCAs. Are the 32s 10, 11, or 12 fitty's? I've seen that diameter in several widths. 11s and 12s will deff rub unless you've addressed backspacing and such. Just my $.05 worth of opinion, so that and a dollar might get you a small cup of coffee at 7-11 :brows:
  12. I bet that came off a late model XJ, I think some of them had color matched bumpers even pre-97. :hmm: Oh wait, is this the REAR bumper? Obvioisly that's not off an XJ if it's a rear.
  13. I think I remember from a previous thread that you have to be real specific when ordering to thell them it's for a Comanche. But even still it might be a "universal" pan as I recall that same thread somebody else said it was not a perfect fit but with a little hammering and such was pretty good. JeepDew, please keep us posted with what you find, especially if you do use Sherman's, as I will be doing my pass. side this summer.
  14. Still depends on what motor YOU have, you've never clarified that. Assuming 2.5 since that's what you went hunting for, it should.
  15. Wow, Happy Effin New Year. Man if that doesn't get you excited.....
  16. When I first moved there I heard about people that would watch the game on TV but turn down the sound to listen to Myron on the radio. I thought, no big deal, I've heard of that before. Then I heard him on the radio and thought my god, this guy is completely awful. Then I saw him do preseason games on the local network, and somehow that gosh-awful voice and can't string a sentence together grows on you. Can't explain it, but he was definitely one of a kind. Who cares about thundersticks, foam #1 fingers, pom poms or any of that stuff, this is the man that invented the greatest fan cheering supplement of all time........The Terrible Towel! 'Ell Yeah!!
  17. CW ran some bigger tires on those rims I believe, PM him. I think you are ok w/10.5s but your max'd out at that point.
  18. You know, that basket just might pass grade if done right. I could see taking one off of an Xterra and put on a pre-runner style MJ. Or maybe in front of a high rise cap. A bank of lights on the back and a spare tire laying in the basket. Yeahhhh, that's the ticket. :brows:
  19. Parts are always worth more than the whole. If parts rigs were all $150 we'd all have cherry rigs, a garage full of spares and nobody would be in the business or hobby of parting out to make a few bucks and snag some much needed parts. And last time I checked, JYs are a "for profit" business, i.e. you'll never get the deal of the century from someone whose sole business is making money off of used parts. There's deals to be had for sure, but can you wait for that 1 out of 10 opportunity from the guy down the street that just wants the thing out of his driveway? That being said, I agree $600 is kinda high. Assuming the parts are all in good shape, at $100-150 each that puts you at $300-450, and I'm not able to say what the drive shaft should cost, but I know it's not $150. Did you try to negotiate at all? JYs are a marketplace IMO, so determine what you're willing to pay, offer $300 and work your way to a price they'll accept. As always, be willing to walk unless, like I said above, you need the stuff right away. If so, walk and then come back the next day :laughin:
  20. I don't know how he thinks that thing is worth $10k when he doesn't even have the Big Ton Pulling Edition like ole rusty in Hudson Valley. :brows:
  21. I hope you realize I was being sarcastic as he!!, that's the cheesiest looking thing I've ever seen! :rotfl2: OOPs! Hope it's nobody's from here?!
  22. Check out the sweet roll bar. "Dang it all, I'm gonna put a roll bar on this truck no matter what anybody says!" You go Irkle! Image Not Found
  23. TJ, so what is your effective lift in the back with the spreengs and da chebby chackles? Looooking good Holmes! Nice score on the bed extender. Just curious, what did that set you back off of the clearance table?
  24. not sure if this is a 4.0 or not JT..... :brows:
  25. Okay, just when you thought you'd seen it all (Craigslist Hudson Valley NY MJ w/ "some rust on the right side"), along comes this fella. At the very least you'd think he'd have a heckuva lot more pics for a truck that was on the wall at AMC Headquarters. $10G's, that's right..... http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=239524335
