i should have this bumper (minus the fog lights) somewhere in storage that i would sell. Maybe a black bumper too if you prefer black, i can check later this week. PM me if you are interested, we can work the details and a time to meet up.

Glad to see someone on here was able to get those decals. I made the same offer with my NOS right side Eliminator decals when a similar idea came up in another thread. Never received a response to my PM, so i gave up on the idea. i hope you have better luck, it would be nice to have full sets available to those who want them.

Who's truck is this??
Boilermaker replied to WahooSteeler's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
i guess we've traded around so many parts, we're losing track...you have my old rear bumper. -
This is part of a chart of a chart i made when putting an older clock into my '92. The info probably came from go-jeeps site. It seems to match up better to what you are describing. Clock Side Dash Side Function Pin A red pink 12v power Pin B orange green/black switched 12v power Pin C black black ground Pin D white orange/black panel dimmer Pin E yellow blue/red lights on input

Who's truck is this??

Its CrankshaftKid's MJ. Can't speak for the garage, but the truck is as nice in person as it is in those pics. -
mfpdm has a nice writeup in the DIY section: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=11719

97+ headlight wiring harness diagram
Boilermaker replied to dancome433's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
IIRC you weren't doing fog lights, so this should be most everything you need: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18186 -
Somebody may have grabbed stuff off it since last week, but at the time that truck also had a usable chrome rear bumper, a decent black lower dash trim piece and Black seats. The recline mechanism wasn't working on the driver's seat, but for the prices WPB upap charges, they were worth grabbing and trying to fix.

A similar thread was started a while back, but nothing seemed to come of it. I pm'ed the author and let him know of a dealership that had NOS OEM decals (one side only tho) to use as a template instead of trying to trace the side of a truck. So they are still out there...just few and far between.

Full Console from an 97 XJ in the 89 MJ?
Boilermaker replied to SuperWade2's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
This swap in the thread was done in an XJ but the process should be similar in an MJ: http://naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=63809 I thought there was a better write up on Naxja, but i couldn't find it. -
1989 Comanche Pioneer... first MJ
Boilermaker replied to dancome433's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
totally wrong. There's a set for the MJ in boxes behind the truck. once its on the road, now that is funny....you'll be on your 12th jeep by then. The headliner and lights weren't anywhere to be found on that jy truck; we left the yard empty handed. I'll always grab decent cargo lights when i see them, i'll let you know if i have any luck this weekend. OEM, nice find...you probably told me about the rollbar right after you found it. the rollbar goes well with your side steps, looking forward to seeing it in person. Get that front end lifted so you can drive your MJ the next time we swap parts. -
1989 Comanche Pioneer... first MJ
Boilermaker replied to dancome433's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
another Houston MJ with a 97 front end swap running rubicon wheels...you guys need your own subforum.....seriously tho, truck is looking good. Nice work on the rollbar, is it stock or did it come from different truck? You can actually thank CrankShaftKid for that...i bailed on the sunday morning JY run, if his saturday afternoon didn't open up at the last minute we wouldn't have gone at all and never run across that bed. -
Drilling the rivets out was the worst part of the swap, nothing i'd want to do again. when i replaced my manual regulators with electric ones from a newer XJ, the XJ regulators were fastened with bolts. Those bolts fit right into the hole left by the rivets without any modification. You should be able to find those bolts in any 94-96 XJ, and probably other years. Picture of the (basically) finished swap

who's got money to bribe a 4/92 MJ out of the CFC program?
Boilermaker replied to Pete M's topic in The Pub
Before Jeepman posted, i emailed Jeep for a build sheet. The response from Jeep arrived today, here is a part of it: Fortunately our system still has some information on your Jeep. The actual build date shows May 04, 1992 (J status) and delivered to the dealership on May 15, 1992 (X status). I do show the warranty build start date as of April 16, 1992 in the 21st hour. This could be the 4/92 reference on your door tag. So what is the difference between a warranty build date and actual build date? -
In order to minimize trips to the jy looking for C4C MJs, i downloaded the C4C database from the CARS website(found here). I searched for any vehicle listed as a Comanche or whose VIN started with 1JT or 1J7 and dropped the results into a spreadsheet. Someone else may find the list useful, so here is a link to the spreadsheet. The file is only about 500kb, but the server is kind of slow. Some sad stats: Traded in by year 1986: 47 1987: 73 1988: 127 1989: 120 1990: 57 1991: 43 1992: 23 Total: 490 There were 24 other vehicles that were either: -listed as MJs but their according to an online Jeep VIN decoder their VIN wasn't for an MJ -listed as other vehicles but according to the VIN decoder were MJs Lowest Mileage: 23,798 Highest Mileage: 575,302 Average Mileage: 155,191 Traded in for another Jeep: 20 Most For in Make: Toyota (90) Most Traded for Model: Honda Accord (26) Least Expensive Purchase: $10,685.00 (Nissan Versa) Most Expensive Purchase: $43,250.00 (Lexus RX 450h AWD)

XJ dash harness to rear MJ harness wiring guides.
Boilermaker replied to mfpdm's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
yes, that's what i did with a '92XJ on '92MJ and what i'm planning on doing with the 96XJ dash harness that will go my truck next. I find it easier than splicing and there's no extra wiring hanging around. But i'm also seeing the downside that mfpdm pointed out, replacing the harness for any reason means i have to do everything again. -
Swapping to 97+ Doors, Here's the wiring
Boilermaker replied to Blue XJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Not a direct answer to your question...but would a link to the '99 FSM help? -
Its kind of expensive and only available thru the internet, but i've had some good results with picklex 20

maybe a thread you've posted in received a reply, and that thread and has since been locked out or removed by a mod (if you are set up to be notified on replies by default) -
thanks...and you're welcome. (it took me a moment to realize what your avatar was...) couple of things i kind of left out from my other post. If you use all oem wiring, look for a 91 or 92 cross body harness. earlier ones have are also different. Not sure if it was clear in my other post, but i used 2 door wiring from another XJ for both my doors. Not necessary, just less messing with the wiring to get them connected to the switches. Good luck with the swap.

Since yours is a 91, what i did on my 92 might be helpful: 2 door switches and door wiring from a 91+. window regulators/door locks from a 96 (the newer the better and some time around '94 they are bolted on to the door rather than riveted). Cross body harness from a '92. The door wiring is basically the same from 91-96 but cross body harness changed ~93; the lock/unlock relays moved off this harness and onto the dash harness. Factory harness makes the job almost plug and play (and if you get one from a XJ with power mirrors you can add those easily too). I did have to run a wire or two, but its been a while and i can't remember exactly what i did off the top of my head. So for what isn't plug and play, i've linked the some scans from the 91 FSM. 91 wiring diagrams

Looks like an APN header here's a picture from jeepstrokers of the APN and OEM header, side by side (more or less) There's also some good info about the header in the thread a few posts from the top, so here's a link to it: http://www.jeepstrokers.com/forum/viewt ... ?f=8&t=111

I know it's been posted before, but that truck in the first post would be complete if he did this to the back: Image Not Found
