  1. Vancouver, BC....and unfortunately i don't know anyone out that way. I'm out $180. Not sure about destroying his life, i must be getting soft. Teaching the brat a life lesson would be nice. Pirate and that Wenzel kid was one of the first things to cross my mind when i realized i was being shafted. edit... i'd happily provide the stick.
  2. About a month back bought a part from a guy on another forum who's parting an '80's dodge. The guy had been registered at that forum for a while, had over 700 posts. Nothing out of the ordinary, nothing most of us around here haven't done a few times. Paid thru paypal, he says he's ship it after the weekend. A couple days pass, no tracking number, so i send an email asking for one. He emails back a couple days after that about some story about the holiday (Canada day) so it went out later that he expected. But he told me it was shipped and he'd email me the tracking number when he got home from work that evening. Of course that's the last i hear from him. He won't respond to emails, pm's or posts to his own threads. Its been over three weeks since he said he shipped it, not that i expected anything to show up but it would have by now if something was sent. I filed a paypal claim a week ago, he hasn't responded to paypal at all. I find that he started a similar for sale thread on different forum, and a guy in that thread posted about how this seller had ripped him in an earlier transaction (wish i had seen that a month ago). So i register on that forum and contact the guy. He tells me a similar story, forwards me his paypal claim info which i included as part of my claim. I have this guy's home address (or maybe his parents, not totally sure), the phone number for that address, his birth date and multiple email addresses he's used. I know where he works (ironically he works at a chrysler dealership in the parts department). I even found pictures of the guy...i know he's getting my emails; sent a link to his picture in one of my emails to him and the picture disappeared within hours. i don't expect to get anything back from paypal, the last guy didn't even tho he "won" his claim. At best paypal will suspend his account, maybe make it tough for him to get one for a little while, but he'll be back. I'll contact the mods at each board, but somehow i don't think this seller would care if he was banned, if they even did that much. Anyone have any suggestions as to what to do next...is there anything else that can be done?
  3. meant to pm instead of post. girsmj86 pm sent.
  4. I've saw the thread over a jeepstrokers; exchanged PMs with someone over there about it...we both gave up how much we were willing to pay, and one of us got out of the other's way instead of driving the price up unnecessarily for the other.
  5. been watching it for almost two weeks now...was also listed about two weeks but the auction ended on at odd time on a monday morning and i forgot to bid. Thought i was going to work out when he relisted it for less than the last time. Guess i may have to outbid a few people on here now for it.
  6. Pics are still visible on the ebay listing, which should be there for a few more months.
  7. Catatonic Comanche also took the time to scan in the '92 brochure. Page 8 starts the trim level and options section: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1036

    It's official

edit...President on tv right now spinning the bankruptcy as a good thing.
  9. From the location, i'm guessing its Muad'Dib from naxja and the owner of jeepstrokers selling those. He seems like a pretty good guy, so i'd assume all that info is full disclosure so that the buyer knows exactly what he/she is getting.
  10. Unfortunately some of the pictures are gone, but there is a decent explanation of what needs to be done to get the bed off: http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopi ... 29767ab1ee
  11. If you are doing a color change, i'd probably pull off the bed so that you can get to the back of the cab easily. Also gives you a chance to get a good look at your frame rails, clean them up if you think its necessary. The shop that is in the process of repainting my truck removed the trim around the windshield, but not the windshield itself. They did remove the back window, because it was a poorly installed and leaking. I don't know if they would have the window was ok. I also pulled the windows and vents out of the doors before they started.
  12. up until a month ago, i was using a dash harness from a 92 XJ and it had the wiring for the clock. If you need pics of anything in the harness, its just sitting around in a box. There is a page in the 91 FSM for the clock wiring, no such page in the 92 FSM. btw, i put that part number in one of those chrysler online parts pages, and here is what came up: Item Number MSRP Core Price Price 56006862 $129.00 $0.00 $102.04 CLOCK EXPORT DIGIT
  13. all the connectors on the door harness are the same from '91 thru '96...i'm currently using door harnesses from a '93 and a '95 connected to a cross body harness from a '92. My locks and window regulators came out of a '96. if you go with a factory cross body harness, make sure it is one from a '91 or '92. Starting in '93, (possibly 94) the door lock relays were moved from the harness to fuse box on the dash harness. Either way, look for a cross body harness with the relays and you should be fine. As hornbrod said, you only need the to do the run a 20A fused circuit on the cross body harness for the windows and door locks. The other tap (brown and white) is for the power mirrors (10A if you decide to hook those up).

  15. yea i wasn't saying anything about a repetitive thread...just linking you to another thread that got pushed off the first page pretty quickly.
  16. There was a discussion on it, thread topic didn't really give that away: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=15879 and yea, the bench struck me as odd too, but some people prefer them over buckets.

  18. if nobody else has stepped forward, i'll volunteer.
  19. This one? http://www2.dana.com/expert/wc.dll?hvtss~deabill~5~ btw, wasn't trying to be a jerk or anything. Been trying to figure out the gearing in my axles and it sounded like the link could help.
  20. You'll probably want to stick with a harness from a '90 or older renix 4.0. I'm pretty sure the bulkhead connector and gauge cluster changed with the introduction of the HO in '91. Don't even know if it would be possible to make it work, but probably not worth the time if it was. If you find a suitable harness from an XJ, a little splicing is required. XJs have two connectors that run to the rear cab harness, MJs one. The wires you need are all there, its just a matter of moving some pins around. I believe you would also need to run a wire from the brake pedal to the steering column so the brake lights work correctly. There are a couple of threads about the swap around, along with some wiring diagrams that should turn up in a search.
  21. There was a similar discussion in SW2's floorboards thread, starting on page 2: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=14878&start=15 The ACC aftermarket carpet i have doesn't look that bad even tho its baggy in a couple of places...but black does hide a lot. I was very careful to cut away as little as possible; just enough so all cuts are hidden by trim or the center console. Compared to OEM, it feels cheap and i don't have any confidence it will last very long without help from some floor mats. If new OEM carpet was available, i'd be the first in line. If you can at all salvage your existing carpet, i would give it a try. SW2 goes over what he did in the thread.
  22. You might be thinking of this thread, Eagle's post, second from the bottom. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4955 I called my local dealership and they wanted $25. I ended up ordering them from here for $9.24 before shipping. Unfortunately that was a month ago and they are still on back order...but that may not be the case everywhere.
  23. '84-'96 Cherokee center consoles are interchangeable with MJ consoles, so you can use a console from one of those (mine is from an 87 XJ). I understand where you are coming from, my MJ has been in pieces for over 5 months and counting. A lot of that down time is because i've been picky about parts. You also may want to post what you are looking for in the classifieds section.
  24. Assuming its even available, is your heart that set on a new center console that you'd be willing to pay $250 + whatever instead of spending around $30 and 10 minutes at a junkyard for used one? There plenty of decent consoles at the yard that just need a good cleaning and you can get all the mounting brackets while you are at it. Depending on how you use your MJ, it probably wouldn't be long before you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the one you bought new and the one grabbed from a JY. Be prepared for all the posts where people will tell you they've got whole trucks for less, could do x, y and z for the same money or offers to sell their consoles for that much.
