  1. I didn't really like what i read about ACC carpets so i called stockinteriors specifically to ask if that's what they were selling. They said it wasn't an ACC carpet so i ordered from them...but 4 days later an ACC box showed up. They don't refund shipping in either direction, so i just ended up keeping it and using it temporarily until i find a better alternative. I may have some scraps laying around; i can put it side by side with the stock carpet and take pics if you want.
  2. I also had to replace my carpet because of a water leak. Bought the ACC plush cut pile without the mass backing from the same place and wasn't very impressed. Its thinner than the oem and the driver's foot pad is smaller. Its not pre-cut so you'll have to cut out holes for the shifter, seat bolts, etc. and trim along the edges. At least being thin helps here, it cuts easily enough with a sharp knife or scissors. The fit is ok, the biggest problem i have is that it's baggy around the front of the tranny hump.
  3. x2...how did you get them to work....
  4. its doable (well, not sure about the headlights), i know someone on here has done it...i'll see if i can find the project thread. edit: I found the thread i was thinking of...its watchamakalit's build The header panel is a little more rounded in the corners, so there ends up being a gap:
  5. probably not what you were thinking but there is a guy who cut into the t-case hump to put in ford explorer seats. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=9837
  6. Not much info, but plenty of pictures to draw from in a similar (long dead) thread at Jeepforum. There isn't too much useful info on the second page, but there are a few more pics in the third.

    Libby MPG

my 2005 V6, stock sized tires, auto trans and 4x2....70% highway/30% other ~ 21mpg I hate to push anyone toward a CR-V, but there's no way you are going to reach that in a KJ. I've done as well as 26mpg on the highway, but i've got the Mopar/Borla cat back exhaust, a flashed PCM and a couple of other mods.
  8. my guess is freemasons....
  9. I believe they are called icons.
  10. i got one off ebay and had it on for like a week. Felt kind of flimsy. Back to the console install...you are going to have to cut the carpet a little, the brackets mount flush against the cab floor. Even tho its an XJ, the install should be about the same...i would think there are dimples where the brackets go: When i put new carpet in, i didn't cut as much as that picture, just cut a small flap for each bracket so i could slide the bracket underneath the carpet. Screwed down the brackets, then dropped the flap back over top of the base of each bracket.
  11. I have a set...came off a junkyard XJ limited. They feel more solid and are heavier than the plastic door handles that most (if not all) of our MJs came with. I'm hoping that when I get my truck painted, they can media blast the chrome off and paint them black.
  12. I don't mind if the thread is cleaned up of any of my posts. There are at least a dozen pages worth of torque specs. not sure if there is a limit on number of images per post, so they may want to leave the other post too. I cleaned up the first scan (finally got photoshop back on my computer) and posted another one. If anybody has a recommendation on how to organize this better, let me know.
  13. i probably wasn't very clear in my other post...i replaced the entire dash harness, not just the fuse box, with one from an XJ. Less overall splicing, but the dash needs to come out. But it is another option. btw, is this for your 91 or 89?
  14. yes, it can be done. No its not simple- but it can be done with enough time and patience. If theres clips missing, check the inside portion for burns- if it shows any melting, toss it. its not too bad, i had to replace the harness in my 92 with one from an XJ. There is some splicing; the MJ has one cab connector, the XJ two; so wires need to be moved. And one more from the brake pedal into the steering column. If you end up going this route, i can help out with some pictures and wiring diagrams.
  15. Dino's stroker page (sample builds with estimated HP, no costs): http://www.jeep4.0performance.4mg.com/stroker.html Try the project threads over at jeepstrokers. A couple of guys have long detailed threads with their parts lists and what they paid. Here's an example of one of the more detailed project threads: http://www.jeepstrokers.com/forum/viewt ... p?f=8&t=71 If you haven't already spent some time over there reading (or better yet joining), i would highly recommend it.
  16. Power seats out of a early 90's Chrysler New Yorker Leather Seats out of the same era Lebaron No pics of it in the truck, by the time we got done all the cutting and test fitting it was kind of dark. I cut the bases off of an MJ's bench and bolted them onto the power tracks using 1/4" plates and grade 8 bolts i picked up at tractor supply. The seats themselves are a little wider and a tight fit. I wanted a higher seating position, but i think it's too high. I'm 6' tall and there isn't much head clearance. If i decide to keep the seats, i'll probably have to have some custom base mounts made and i'll probably have it all welded together for some peace of mind. I probably would have abandoned the project a while back but the seats were cheap and they match my door panels exactly.
  17. 44 1/2", 49" including the yoke. Since it was already pulled and laying on the shop floor, I had the guy at the shop measure it. Hope that's what you need.
  18. i can measure it on my '92 (also aw4 np 231) this morning. I'll be back from the garage in a couple of hours.
  19. What year is your MJ? Pre '91 its not that difficult: http://naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=921205 Not sure if there is an easy way for 91+.
  20. Probably thinking of Sherman.
  21. Edit: nevermind you've checked the areas i suggested in the original post.
  22. Don't know what part of Texas you are in, but there is a junkyard in san antonio that according to car-part.com has 2 D44s with 3.55 gears for $200 each. People have found better deals than that, but if you are within a reasonable driving distance of San Antonio, i would have than in mind when negotiating a price with the yard you are working with.
