  1. Holy  more expensive batman. While I'm sure those are quality products, there's no way I could afford $1-2k on it right now. Good plan. I know my own school doesn't have any extra sitting around, in fact they could use a few more. But there is another tech school in Springfield that I could give a call. I may actually go with one of those. They're not too much more than the one I was looking at, seem nice and compact, and are much more capable than the Chinese one. The build-in function generator is a major plus.
  2. I've poked around a bit, and seem to have pretty decent reviews. Most of the bad reviews were either from people expecting the performance of a $10,000 bench unit, or people who just don't understand the concept of anything electrical. It seems to be capable of everything I need it to do, and the Amazon price is the lowest I could find.
  3. Neither of those pictures can reveal if it's an AX-15 crossmember, but from how the mount looks in the second picture, I am betting it is not.
  4. I'm currently enrolled in a Computer Electronics Engineering program, and have gotten into experimenting quite a bit at home. I live right by school, but it's still kind of a hassle to pack up everything just to use the test equipment there in hopes that there's no class. I would really like my own Oscilloscope, and discovered this little gem. http://www.amazon.com/100MS-Based-Digit ... 686&sr=1-1 I've never owned anything like this, and wanted to know if any of you guys have experience with equipment like this. Do they work adequately compared to the real thing? Is it worth the price? I would in the long run like a tabletop model, but this would be perfect to fit in my toolkit to use with my laptop(which is almost always with me).

  6. I'm not certain about the ZJ 4.0 front coils, but I used XJ 4.0 coils on my 2.5 MJ, and it raised it up about 1 1/2 inches.
  7. An acquaintance of mine is having a no-start issue with his ZJ. I'm not sure what year, but I know it's a 4.0. It cranks, but he's unsure of spark, and a code reader is telling him that it can't talk to the ECU. I was just wondering if it was possible to try an XJ ECU in a ZJ for testing purposes, or if there's any other ways to check the ECU. I'm going to try anything else I can think of before I would swap the ECUs.
  8. Did your old gauge cluster have dummy lights, or gauges? Dummy lights ,.. I miss needles moving in front of me Senders for the oil pressure and temp gauges are different from the dummy light ones. You need the gauge senders.
  9. with a cucumber
  10. $3.59 for 87 around Springfield, MO.
  11. As long as you're 2wd, there's no issue having different size tires in the back. You may have issues with loss of power depending on your axle gearing, and your speedometer will need the gear changed to keep it accurate.
  12. The 6 cylinder tach will work, but will read 2/3rds of actual rpm. You'll need to adjust the potentiometer on the back,
  13. The shop I had my driveshaft shortened at put in Spicer joints. They had Dana and Spicer posters all over their walls. Total bill was $102, $15 for each joint. I haven't purchased them separately, but $15 sounds like a good price for a joint.
  14. You can also change it so your computer does not sleep when you close it, it just simply turns off the monitor. I swear, defaulting to sleeping when you shut the lid is one of the most annoying things any computer does.
  15. The electronics of the entire cluster is different. You cannot just swap speedos.
  16. And consider yourself lucky... DST is absolutely useless, and if I have to work that weekend, it's going to mess up my work schedule.
  17. Where in Missouri are you? I've somewhat recently seen a very shiny red and white FC going through Springfield.
  18. It's there to prevent the pump from vibrating and cracking the metal lines. I had to replace one, I got a tapered rubber plug at the local hardware store and drilled a hole through it.
  19. You should be good with anything with a copper, single spark.
  20. www.rockauto.com has one for $30, it's a 2-plug for an automatic, but will work with a 5 speed.
  21. Unplug the TCU, and see if it will shift normally with the selector.
  22. I doubt it's a firing order issue, since he said that it happened about a mile into the drive. Were the new plugs gapped correctly?
