  1. 4th would still work normally.
  2. For the XJ and MJ, only two crossmembers were ever used. One for the AX-15, and one for everything else. (Although I'm not 100% on which one the 00-01 NV3550 got.)
  3. I believe that depends on what year TJ.
  4. I hope you don't have a tailgate....
  5. Got my first cell phone when I was 16, shortly after I got my first job. It's a good idea to pick up an older one for a few bucks and keep it in the truck without a plan. Even without a plan, it will still call 911.
  6. The only axle that will bolt straight in is going to be from an MJ. XJ axles are the same, but the spring perches are in a different spot, so they need to be moved. You probably have better chances of winning the lottery than finding a factory MJ D44 with 4.10. They exist, but not easy to find. Exploder 8.8s will work but you need wheel spacers. I would try to get a 97+ XJ 8.25 with the 29 spline axles.
  7. Unfortunately they have a bad habit of being very, very wrong.
  8. I've been thinking that we've had waaay too many stickies lately... so this should be good.
  9. The relationship CAN change during a heavy load with an automatic if the converter unlocks. Granted, there is a stall, but it's not a guaranteed physical connection.
  10. 92s used a different CPS. :rotf:
  11. Machine Operator at a Styrofoam factory, and Full time student.
  12. Symptoms of a dying CPS. I had one go out just like that before, would occassionally cause a no-start, made the truck die while driving once, then a few weeks later completely went out.
  13. Compared to swapping transmissions, swapping the column is nothing. Swapping steering columns of XJs/MJs is really pretty easy.
  14. I've been poking around a bit and it appears the BA 10/5 came with two different ratios for 5th. Input : 26 teeth, Layshaft Input : 37 teeth, Layshaft 5th : 53 teeth, Output 5th : 27 teeth, Ratio : 0.72496 Input : 26 teeth, Layshaft Input : 37 teeth, Layshaft 5th : 51 teeth, Output 5th : 28 teeth, Ratio : 0.78129 :dunno:
  15. No laptop with Wifi? You could be the cool guy in class  He was doing that with me the other day, I just think he was referring to not being able to be on it in class. Rob Some schools block the ports used for stuff like this. My school has Steam blocked.
  16. You can keep the column shifter. The 4wd linkages will still mount to the floor, but you won't have any issues with the gear selector.
  17. AFAIK the reverse light switch is nothing more than a single throw switch to complete the circuit to the reverse lights. You should be able to just splice them back into the harness and be good to go. Shouldn't even matter which one's which.
  18. I unplug the CPS when priming oil pressure after an oil change. Shuts off spark and fuel without damaging anything.
  19. I have a 64 bit quad core i5 @ 2.3 Ghz, 6 GB of RAM, 1.5 GB of video memory. Don't think that's the issue.
  20. It's really choppy, steering response is insanely slow, and when I throw it in neutral and redline the motor for a few minutes, it doesn't throw a rod. Am I missing a setting somewhere, or is that just the way the game is?
  21. Oh hey... I have a computer that doesn't suck now, I should give this a try again.
  22. You also don't have to restrict yourself to the 2.5. The 2.8 also used the AX-4/5 with the same bellhousing as the 2.5. It might actually be beneficial to look for an 84-86, as it will be an external slave. 94ish + will also be external.
