  1. Yours did go out, on Friday if I remember correctly. I remember because I wondered if it would have been cheaper to hand deliver! Good to know  Gas would probably be about $50...
  2. Have you considered getting new MT packs from Hellcreek?
  3. Still nothing. :( Am I part of the 20%? It can't take very long to get here from you.
  4. Last time I pulled a bed I had to remove the gas tank. One side of the straps sit in the frame, and the other side bolts to the bed. Also, I didn't have to touch the prop valve. That should be bolted to the frame crossmember. You will have to unbolt your e-brake bracket, but you don't have to remove it. Just get it off the bed. You'll also have to remove the tail lights. I haven't dealt with a LWB, but I don't believe they're any different.
  5. Speaking of the CPS, unbolt it from the Pukey before you pull the trans out, and attach it to the AX-15 after you get the new trans in. It's kind of a PITA on a 4.0, but they're not hard to break.
  6. Are you sure it's not a lifter?
  7. 2WD drive shaft yoke in 91+ = 27 splines. 2wd drive shaft yoke pulled from my 91 2.5/AX-4 = 21 splines. I discovered it by accident when I had the DS shortened for the 4wd swap, and didn't think I needed to give them a different yoke to put on when they changed the U-joints, so I ended up having to swap the 27 on. I believe it. There's only one 2WD yoke listed in the parts manual for 1991, the 27 spline one. Mine is 27 splines. But being the change year, I suppose some 21s slipped through as per usual. :dunno: I'm sure that's what happened. I imagine when the decision to change was made, they still had crates full of 21 spline trannies, and it really wouldn't make sense to pay to change them over something so trivial. Just make sure you count your splines people.
  8. Some key differences between the AX-4/5 and AX-15 : Shifter mount / midplate: The AX-4/5 has a raised tower where the shifter mounts, while the AX-15 is nearly flush with the rest of the case. The AX-4/5 has a cast iron midplate, and is usually given away by surface rust. The AX-15 has a cast aluminum midplate, and is generally the same color as the rest of the trans.

  10. Depending on what vehicle you were planning on doing this to, you'd probably loose your speedometer. The 4wd transmissions don't have provisions for a speedo, which is essentially why the 2wd versions are longer.
  11. Every 2wd yoke I've seen is 21 splines. But I've heard that at some point they switched to 27, although I have no idea when, if that's true. I gotta ask.... why?
  12. What shape was the line in? The rubber section in the middle can wear out and collapse...
  13. Yes, and very easily so. You'll need an external bellhousing from an 84-86, 94+ 4 cylinder Jeep. The front bearing retainer for the externals is different, so you'll need that too. Also the shift fork, throwout bearing. Worst part is going to be setting up the clutch line. Remember that external slaves need to be bled off the bellhousing, and you need to find some way to keep the cylinder compressed while bleeding. Internal bearing retainer on the left, external on the right. (These are for an AX-15, but just to show you the difference.)
  14. So far a new hair clipper/trimmer set, foot soaking tub, new Wiimote, and a nifty 8 in 1 screwdriver with a freakin bright LED flashlight.
  15. AX-15 and NV3550 will be the same amount of work. The only electronics for them are the CPS (which depends on what year wiring you have), and the reverse light switch, which worse case will require splicing wires. I believe the NV3550 is stronger than the AX-15, but not a concern unless you really need it. (I'd probably have to burn up two AX-15s to justify hunting down an NV3550) Really the only other consideration is the gearing. AX-15 1st - 3.83:1 2nd - 2.33:1 3rd - 1.44:1 4th - 1:1 5th - 0.79:1 Rev - 4.22:1 NV3550 1st - 4.01:1 2nd - 2.33:1 3rd - 1.39:1 4th - 1:1 5th - 0.78:1 Rev - 3.57:1 Main difference being a slightly lower 1st in the NV, although if you're running 4.10s on stock tires with a 4.0, you're probably not gonna be too worried about 1st's gearing much.
  16. ALL 4.0s are fuel injected. The older AMC straight 6s were not, but they were the same block. If their listing is specifically a 4.0, and listing it isn't for fuel injection, then you should consider not buying from a company that doesn't do any research.
  17. This is not an American forum. Nor is Christmas an Americans-only holiday. But, only in America do people get offended by someone in the cheer of the moment saying "Merry Christmas" to them. America: freedom of speech, some places while celebrating christmas don't actually have that freedom. Edit...ugh I hate loving debate... CC is a USA forum, originating in USA. Its based on a vehicle built by a USA company. Christmas became its over embelished self because of America and its abilitly to make it into a $ spending frenzy instead of what it should be, a time to celebrate a birthday. Americans because of this have put a double standard upon themselves by fighting the term "Merry Christmas". We the USA have done all this to ourselves. What a young foolish country we are. Just teenagers still in this world. I have no problem with people saying Merry Christmas. It's when people get all uppity over "Happy Holidays" and basically giving the finger to anyone who celebrates something other than Christmas that bothers me. Yes, the MJ was designed by an American company... but a good number of them were not built in America.

  19. Don, do you happen to have the full/empty resistance values for both the Renix and HO senders? I'm contemplating...
  20. I wouldn't say the XJ and MJ are "completely different".....
  21. Which gauge cluster are you using? Has it been like this from the swap, or did it just happen out of nowhere?
  22. If you have the full HO wiring swapped in, there's your problem.
  23. Before you do anything else, check the oil and make sure there's no water in it.
  24. If it's set up like XJ/MJ pumps, the hose connecting the pump to the sender could have broken or fallen off.
