looks like an xj setup was put on... So technically it is factory ;)

a front d44 out of a tj isnt much stronger then a d30... if you don't wheel hard and want to stay on 35s a dana 44 should work. but of course a dana 60 is always better. You will be looking for a ford or wagoneer d44 if you want driver side drop. Like pete said chevy axles are passenger

Whatever you do shoot the gun before you buy it. it may look and feel good to you, but as soon as you point it at a target and pull the trigger that may change. Dad bought a ruger lcr, never shot it. The reason he got it was for mom, after one time at the range he traded the gun to a friend. Something to think about

hmm... I didnt see any xjs that year with abs. and i thought it was 96? grrrr :oops: oh well. for the most part all they had was zjs and of the few xjs most of them were 2wd. :fs1: I will find some though. Thanks for the info!

Went to the JY in search of the larger u joints under an xj. no luck, the newest xjs were all 95. so i just grabbed one to throw in for now, I will keep searching. I also did manage to score a zj v8 tie rod. I never realized how beefier it is... after i put the shaft in there are hardly any brakes :headpop: parked it and will deal with it tomorrow.

ltbs are bias. TSL can be had either way

TSL or LTB swamper, id say no to boggers, just because they are lacking in lateral traction.

I'm sure this has been covered before, But this weekend I plan on getting some new shafts for my d30 from a newer cherokee for the upgraded U joints. My axle now is a cad unit, from my understanding I need a seal for the shaft. Where does this seal go and where can I pick one up at? Thanks guys

I got the bumper finished up for the time being. I still need to add a hoop around the winch and mount the roller. as well as some bracing for the sides. But its "done" and on the truck for now took it out to the property and broke a u joint. Oh well. :wrench:

Started the bumper this afternoon. I got my winch plate and D rind mounts put on, as well as my sides. I am going to support the plate in the middle more as well as add a few more things. But this is how she looks right now

No, I get that. But demand for a front hitch has got to be exponentially less than demand for a rear hitch, wouldn't you think? yes, but like said, they fit the xj as well. there is enough demand for those

Never heard of the brand, but I know the 4wd mags frequently do a cheap winch shoot out. I would see if you can't find that, they had some good stuff to say about a few. If i remember right one was just a warn with a different sticker, the warn remote even worked for it. But that being said, a winch is not something to cheap out on. Whats the point if when you need it the most it won't work? :wrench:

33x13.50 ltbs on a 15x10inch rim

4.5 rubicon express lift with 2 inch spacer to net around a 6inch lift. with SOA in back and an 8.8, when time and money allows, id like to change some things up. but for now it works for me.

I experience the exact same thing in my truck. lights dim and voltage reading low... i plan on upgrading my alt in the future due to my winch and aux lighting. Not sure if that will fix it or not

lots of people do this swap. from what I hear of it plug it in and change the senders and you are good. But I'm sure some that have done this will chime in with better advice

1988 Jeep comanche (sport truck?) 4.0 5spd(ba10) np231 dana 30/35(now 8.8) swb She is still on the road. I bought this jeep it has vinyl floors, buckets full console and gages as well as a tilt wheel. the door panels are the basic ones. no speaker grills, just arm rest and handle. I think it came with a bench and all the options were swapped from an xj, at least that is what the PO said.
