  2. Was out test driving it today, everything actually seems fine except blowing one intercooler hose. Not finished hooking up the nifty shifter, and my NSS is bad so I only had 2th and 3rd gear. It was only smoking that much because I was not getting boost pressure from standing still there revving BC442C84-09D4-42DE-9DCD-673B8E8D9AA6.mp4 A236C2C0-A298-4ADD-9D51-16CE75500D0D.mp4
  3. Today
  4. No sorry, it was actually gone when I got the Jeep
  5. Slowly digging and digging. Got the foam mostly off of the roof. Still can't figure out where a boat rack would have attached to. The entire middle is just the aluminum skin on foam, which gives no real rigidity. The outside edge has a this weird 1 1/4" quarter round to give the curve of the roof structure. Couldn't find anywhere local that sold anything similar without a massive tool set up cost. Menards sells 1 1/4" quarter round, but I'm not taking a 10 hour trip for 24' of trim. I'm gonna use the router table at work and try and replicate it as best I can out of 2"x2" since all of it is rotten. At some point a critter had burrowed tunnels through the roof foam. Not sure what would burrow into styrofoam, but I know I don't want it in my camper lol. The fold out sides are more rotten that I thought, meaning I'll need to rebuild them as well. Aiming to get the roof redone in the next few weeks as I was taking some screws out of the door frame and about a gallon of water shot out. So, I want to get the roof to a point where the frame isn't taking on water anymore.
  6. This is going to be an awesome project. I can't wait to see it done and ready to drive. It was great meeting you, and I'm glad we could work things out for you.
  7. Not a massively satisfying update but have been parts gathering all year. I've got all the panels and braces to replace the floor, along with seam sealer and paint for inside and out. Need to find some time to get that done. Also, I had been searching for about a year for a 3.4 donor. I originally was trying to find a 93 as they would have a 4L60 not the 4L60e, but that proved nigh impossible. That's when I saw @dasbulliwagen post in the pub about values on his parts cars. I went up and checked the car out and we got it to run momentarily on starting fluid as the fuel pump is most certainly dead. We arranged the sell and now I've the Camaro at the house. It was cool to meet another longtime member in person and get to see a truck I've been reading about for years now. The plan is to thin the wiring of all unnecessary stuff and make a stand-alone harness to control the 3.4 and the 4L60e. The car came with a set of Pacesetter headers that I'll see if I can use and some aftermarket radiator fans which is nice since I won't have to buy any. There's a little funky wiring here and there, but overall, the car seems in great shape. I got a ZJ NP242 with less than 100k on it for $100 and bought a Novak adapter so it'll bolt to the back of the 2wd 4l60e. I've also bought a metric ton of seals to change on the 3.4. I've got a trip out to Oregon this year to visit family and my daily and mom's car need a good bit of work done to them, not to mention stuff on the house that needs done, but I'm aiming to get all of this accomplished by the end of the year.
  8. I was fighting mine for a ridiculous amount of time. I swapped the metal/plastic clips for all plastic ones and it went easier.
  9. I also have a 5.5mm socket but what size are the actual threads?
  10. There is such a thing called 5.5mm. I have a snap on socket from back in the day. You have to have one for old gm stuff.
  11. I fit (and got running) an Ecotec LHU (Turbo 2.0L 260hp rated) that fit pretty well but there was definitely oil pan concerns and I never took it out on the street. Sold the truck and lost contact with the new owner on that one. I have done several SBCs to LS motors on random vehicles. Worked in an auto lab swapping random motors into test stands all of the time for 7 years and worked for Perkins as an applications engineer for an additional year. Engine swaps should not be taken lightly. If the conversion kit does not exist and you are anything less than completely confident with a plasma cutter, grinder, and welder along with a multimeter and a very good knowledge of electrical diagrams, I would not attempt it.
  12. Depends on the application. If you already have an iPhone than Airpod Pro's 100%. I don't have an iPhone I use Pixel Buds and they are fine. I have some Jabra noise cancelling ones from work that are complete trash. If you are using them for PC use, consider over-ears in which case I highly recommend the Sony XM4s. They are generally regarded as better than the XM5s and the noise cancelling is multiple times better than the best buds out there.
  13. Current fluid temps are exactly room temp and, unfortunately, will be remaining that way for a long time. You are correct on the "regulating" effect, though, the primary reason I bothered to do this was to add volume. Plus, it's right there next to the steering box... This is on the "cold" (outlet) side of the cooler and, aside from the O-rings, the fitting is steel. I considered an AN or JIC fitting, but I wanted to avoid the bulk and am not convinced there's much to be gained.
  14. Ok losing it. Trying to put radiator isolators on new radiator. Drivers side took m5 nut. However the m5 seems to? be too small on passenger side but m6 is too large. Is there a size in between? Am I missing something

    wireless earbuds?

I’ve got a set of AirPods. They are great for school work because they can cancel out noise or let noise through, depending on the mode. The mic is also pretty darn good. The case does have some magnetic bits, so I wouldn’t recommend having the case in your pocket when doing metal work otherwise you’ll have metal shavings and rust stains on the case.
  18. Klipsch - Both Wireless Earbuds and ANC Headphones...can't go wrong!
  19. who's rockin' a pair? opinions on them? I need a set with a mic, but I kinda assume they all have that. mostly for my evening walks. android phone.
