72cut Posted November 12, 2025 Posted November 12, 2025 Anyone know if Goodyear wrangler in 235 75 15 size will rub at full turn with stock jeep steel wheels? Also any recommendations on under $100 tires in that size, other than the wranglers that are quality and won't rub?

That size shouldn't have any issues. I have General Grabber ATX's. I think for a set of 5, i paid $1000, with a $100 rebate on top of that which I know is out of your budget but these tires have been fantastic.
eaglescout526 Posted November 12, 2025 Posted November 12, 2025 I’ve got 235 75 15s and at stock and haven’t noticed any issues.

robfg67 Posted November 12, 2025 Posted November 12, 2025 What Eagle said. There are lots of guys who buy new Wranglers and sell off new tires to go bigger.

Looks like you can get mud tires or all terrains for about $400. https://ebay.us/m/UXX7fD https://ebay.us/m/53YVuS But I'm not saying they will be good.
Pete M Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 I got my last set of tires through walmart. I kept an eye on the tires that go on sale and ended up getting half off. theoretically I got a much better tire for my limited budget. so far I've been very pleased with them.

When we got our MJ new tires were going to cost twice what the vehicle cost. Started buying used tires and that's all we buy now. Should be able to pick up some good condition takeoffs from classifieds or even the local 4x4 shop for $400 or less.
llhat Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 my 89 had BFG all terrain 235/75/15 load range c when i obtained it in 1997, but about 70k on those, but aftermarket wheels with shallower backspacing, don't recall rubbing, but no big off road adventures replaced with take-offs from a Wrangler 9.50 x 31 x 15 on mopar aftermarket wheels, these had deeper backspacing, tire/wheel would rub emergency brake cable, so i tied back the cable, don't recall rubbing on front... but no big off road adventures ran those until this year ( about 20 years and 'maybe' 20k miles... those tire had aged out and were giving shimmy problems now with a set of wrangler 'canyons' and back to 235/75/15 Falken Rubitrek (spell)... smooth, low noise, and i think they were just at 500 .......... just getting to 170k on the truck. trying to drive it more, but i believe will need a heater core next... I ain't doin it myself.............

pizzaman09 Posted November 16, 2025 Posted November 16, 2025 I'll be the person that has issues with that tire size rubbing on an all stock setup. I have BFG 235 75 R15s on my truck on the factor wheels and I get rubbing at the lower control arm at full lock turning left. I don't have the issue at full lock right and didn't have that issue with 235 75 R15 light truck tires that didn't have blocky tread on the edges.
