Yesterday, average for CT was $4.29 87 octane.

I have to ad that, I don't know where they get those numbers cause everywhere I see it is $4.59 - 4.69 a gallon for 87 octane.

I know we will see $5.00gl before the summer is out.

Gas Prices

This makes more sense than the don't buy gas on

a

certain day routine that was going around in

April or

May. Gasoline Prices! Whoever started

this has a good

point.

By now

you're probably thinking gasoline priced at

about $1.49 is cheap. Me too! As it is now $1.58

for

regular unleaded. Now that the oil companies and

the

OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that

the

cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at less than

$1.50,

we need to try an aggressive response. With

the

price of gasoline going up more each day, we

consumers

need to take action. The only way we are going

to

see the price of gas come down is if we don't buy

it.

But, that's not really a practical option since

we all

have come to rely on our

cars.

But we CAN have an impact on gas prices

if we all

act together.

Here's the idea -

For the rest of this

year, don't purchase gasoline

from the two

biggest companies (which now are one),

EXXON and

MOBIL. If they are not selling, they should

be

inclined to reduce their prices-and if they

reduce

their prices the other companies will too.

But to have an impact, we need to reach

literally

millions of users. But it's doable!

I am sending this note to 42 people. If each of

you

send it to at least 10 more ...and those 10 send

it to

at least 10 more ... and so on by the

time the

message reaches the sixth iteration

we will have

reached over one million

consumers. Acting together

we

can make a

difference. If this makes sense to you,

please pass

this message on, or one you compose, to

at

least 10 more E-mail addresses.

****

PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO

$1.28 - $1.29 AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN

REALLY

WORK.

Waterford WI = $4.15, Clinton WI = 3.92 about 40 minutes apart.

Whats up with that???

It's like that around here too. Their's one county about 45mins away that is always $.20 cheaper then all the rest no matter what. And who started that trend, why Super Wal-Mart of Course, so all the other gas stations have to stay competitive.

Lowest gas in So. Oregon is 4.29 down fr 4.34 last week. Were consistently about the 2nd highest place in the country behind CA. Just lucky I'm not in one of those outlieing Alaska villages where its $8.5o.

Here in San Diego, about the best price for RUG is $4.25 at Costco. But I did see $4.099 a gallon Sunday near the Otay Mesa border crossing.

Diesel is running about $4.959 per gallon, maybe a touch less less. I paid 5.039 in Orange County on Saturday.

I have basically parked my 91 Comanche and my 98 Rodeo. My daily driver is a 96 VW Passat diesel wagon. On Sunday morning I took it to Tijuana and filled it for $2.20 a gallon. And checked my mileage for the last 1001.6 miles. It was 35.9 mpg, close to 4 mpg less than my last tank of fuel.

Still, I saved about $55.00 on this one tank of fuel compared to buying it on this side of the border. Not bad. Now I can put 6 gallons of gas in the Rodeo and 6 gallons of gas in the Comanche with the money I saved.

Seriously, I need to start looking at either a VW Diesel or a CRD engine conversion for the Comanche. Anyone done the CRD to Comanche or Cherokee???

Please point me to the resources.

Thanks

JJ
