BookspanS Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 2.65 at the Ingles station next door to me :D
mvusse Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 On the way to pick up my new front shocks this morning I filled up for $2.79 in Canton (Ohio). The one down the street from my house is stil at $2.89. 5 miles south they are still at $2.99.
chicofuentes0224 Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 2.89 Hey Chico, is that AVG in the greater Harrisburg area, or just on your side of the Suzy-Q( also known as the squeaky banana) ? :hmm: No, that was the lowest that night. Highest was 3.25-3.28 off major highways. Today's average price around here is 2.97.
MiNi Beast Posted October 12, 2008 Author Posted October 12, 2008 put gas in the rig at $3.04 today woo hoo, to bad had to drive 45mins away from home to get that price.
BREEZE1 Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 $2.89 to day! YEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHH  MORE BEER MONEY
johnj92131 Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 3.31 at the ARCO on Miramar Road and I 15 l saw $3.25 in El Cajon on Sunday. Diesel for $3.25 also on Sunday. (For my Passat TDI! - 37MPG - around town).
CWLONGSHOT Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 The local GETTY just dropped to 2.89 a gal CASH of coarse... WOOHOO, first time under 3 is a LONG time. CW
mvusse Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 I just put 35 gallons in the Suburban at $2.69. Ninety five freaking dollars! But I figured I'd better do it before prices go back up.
WahooSteeler Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Diesel for $3.25 also on Sunday. (For my Passat TDI! - 37MPG - around town). We had an 02 Passat with the 1.8T right after the new style came out. Loved that car, well my wife did since it was her DD. Fantastic little engine. I've been thinking of selling her Pilot, even though it's a great family truckster, and getting a TDI wagon. How is that engine maintenance wise etc.? Oh, and $2.85/gal as of today.

My Passat is a 96 with 180K miles. I have owned it for the last 20K and have done nothing to the engine, except change the oil. Runs fine. But the rest of the car has cost me a bunch of money. $1025 for the A/C compressor, $500+ for CV joints, new tires, etc, etc. Not that the Comanche has been any cheaper. Think I have spent $3k on the Comanche in about the same time and only about 6000 miles use on the truck.
WahooSteeler Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 I forgot they offered diesel in that generation of Passat. VW has always had great diesels and the rest of the car is hit or miss like yours. Our '02 was awesome, never a problem. Sold it in late '05 when #2 came along.
xjcrazy09 Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 dang we are still above the 3 mark w/ 3.09 but its getting there
WahooSteeler Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 $2.79 this morning, $2.74 this evening. same place had premium for $2.94
MiNi Beast Posted October 15, 2008 Author Posted October 15, 2008 $2.79 this morning, $2.74 this evening. same place had premium for $2.94 So you bought the premium right?
WahooSteeler Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 yes and no. my car needs premium, definitely a difference in performance and mpg when i don't use it. riding around on fumes this a.m. so i bought premium at another place near work at $3.11 and the other place was $3.05. who knew it would drop 11 cents in 8 hours? as long as it keeps dropping, i don't care that it cost me all of $1.20 more to fill up in the a.m.
MiNi Beast Posted October 24, 2008 Author Posted October 24, 2008 Well paid 2.65 today took $45 to fill up Been long time since I been able to fill up under $50. I hear they filling up at $2.39 in Detroit. Sweetness and crude oil is going for $64 a barrel which is a far cry from $110 back in May-June. :hmm:
CWLONGSHOT Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 Saw 2.53 but herd on the radio of a station offering it for 2.47!! The MJ is about empty....I wonder, will $3.35 fuel mix OK with the 2.47 stuff???   :D CW
BLHTAZ Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 It's $2.54 at the store next to our hotel here in Ocala, FL this weekend. Kinda sucks as I just filled up a few hours ago in Orlando an paid $2.69
88XJSport Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 I saw somewhere on the news that a Texas station near the Mexico border was having a price war with another station. It got as low as $1.98
SuperWade2 Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 We are still in the $3.50-$3.60 range out here in the left coast... Wade
