Just picked up this 14’x8’ enclosed box trailer today to haul around some of my toys and as a little storage in the yard, the Comanche towed it great especially with no brake controller. Definitely need to make a few upgrades to the truck +trailer before we load it down. Trailer weighs 1950 empty, and has a 10,000Lb rating.

  • 5 weeks later...

Got some new bling for the MJ. Got them for Christmas and put them on before the new year. But just haven’t gotten around to posting them. I went with white letters out on the tires. Also had to do lower control arms to clear the different offset and width wheels with 31’s. And I also threw in a 3/4 inch spacer in the front that added about an inch of lift.
The Chrome wheels are definitely one of my favorite additions to this build. 259F386E-A3B5-4EC7-B218-1EA783654EFF.jpeg.7621ba4563e05129f0c1d5272e24ef67.jpeg098F2A88-253B-4CE2-813D-D420943FB749.jpeg.708b956f58ddec665cbfe9c06bc0a871.jpeg

Also chose not to use the chrome spare so it wouldn’t get wrecked, but it still looks pretty good on the black wheel

The black makes the chrome pop and vice versa.  I run those same wheels on my XJ during the summer, but they look much better on your truck.  That's not to say they don't look sexy on the XJ. :brows:

What’s up with the 21 slot grill? Is it a special year or edition? Are they rare? See one at the Junkyard get it?

Yes… All of that is correct. 21slot was only around on 84-85 XJ Waggoner.
sometimes they go for a pretty penny, lucky for me my dad spotted it in a pile of Jeep parts at a swap meet in the amc homecoming show, and we got it for a whopping price 30$. All being mine is a little beat up, and was covered in black spray paint, but just some paint scraping later and it was back to chrome!

TLDR: Yes they are rare, I picked mine up at a swap meet for cheap, and they can be brought back to chrome if it was painted over previously.

No problem, if you ever see one of those there’s lots of one off parts on them that are worth grabbing, door cards, seats, and lots more. I have xj waggy seats as well and they are the best seats imo

I bought a whole truck to get my 21 slot.  :D well, it wasn't whole per se, rather an empty shell of a truck.  but still.  I bought a truck!  I've literally never seen one in a junkyard.  :(

That’s some dedication to the 21 slot look!
There should be a section dedicated to things to grab at the junkyard off specific vehicles.
Comanche section of Comanche specific parts.
Wagoneer section of the “goodies” to grab.

I know they’re more likely to have a rear D44,

I would like to see the list of Wagoneer parts to swap over typed out.

Just a thought

I have one set up, it’s hidden as I keep looking through the parts catalog to find year specific and MJ and XJW specific things.

Lol like an official junkyard thread

Title: At The Jeep Junkyard? Grab these first

It could include all the zj and xj parts that are easy replacement and upgrades for the mj

Sort of like Pete’s Diy master list

Like WJ front lower control arms

or WJ knuckle swap parts.
I’ve heard the stock WJ steering is made of .120 wall DOM so I always like to grab those for little projects.

ZJ rear coil springs for lowering the front

95-03 4 door blazer rear sway bars apparently work for rear Comanche sway bars.
Just off the top of my head
