It seems like most people need them. the uppers only came on the top trim levels. not even if your Jeep had chrome lowers did that guarantee the uppers were there.

eaglescout526 Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 My MJ has the lower ones and it was just a very base Pioneer truck till I was perusing the parts catalog and stumbled upon the uppers. I like to think of the upper chrome pieces as cuff links.

70barracuda Posted November 12, 2020 Author Posted November 12, 2020 It just felt weird having the bottom ones and knowing the top existed and not having them so I had to fix that.

There was one of each side at the time and a NY dealer was being a putz and wouldn’t sell it to me and someone bought it. So NOS is probably gonna be few and far between on that little piece as you have to compete with XJ owners as well.

All of the above, plus the fact that these things are insanely easy to lose. I've probably lost 5 or 6 of them in the past few years. I'm used to seeing them on Limited trim XJs, but I'm fairly sure they also came on the Laredo and whatever the top '86 MJ package was called too.

It was a weird assortment of options and it only had driver side as the passenger side door was replaced. It was this short bed pioneer. And it was rather base model weirdly too.
