1988 Jeep Comanche Sportruck (MJ)

Drivetrain-

 Stock 4.0 I6 - Stock Peugeot BA 10/5 - Stock Dana 35

Cooling- open cooling system conversion

Electrical/Ignition- Stock

Suspension/Steering- stock - have Tokico Trekmaster shocks ( stock ride height )

Interior- Mostly stock. 1st owner added aftermarket temp gauge, and old school carpet kit.

Brakes- stock drum

Lighting- H4 headlamp harness upgrade

Exterior- Snug Top  “ BAC-PAC “ Yakima Roof Racks with loadstops

Wheel & Tires- Stock steel wheels - Mastercraft Courser STR tires

Misc- Have turbines/Warn brushguard/ rear window to install

Best MJ story- Think just buying the truck, and learning more about it from the first owner. While cleaning his garage I found all the missing details. I found the rear window, window sticker, every receipt imaginable. It was reassuring to know it was cared for, and had been on plenty of adventures. I feel even more responsible to keep it really nice, take it on my own outdoor endeavors.

CC is Awesome! Why?

The members are extremely generous not only with information, but in any way they can be. I have seen people really go out of their way to help one another with their MJ's. I think it is awesome we are all working to keep these trucks alive as long as we can. I will always be extremely humbled by how many people are willing to help, and contribute to others' success on this website. In the beginning, I was overwhelmed by the idea of owning a rare older truck. With the friends on here I'm more excited than ever.

Congrats and well deserved mjotm. I am in awe of so many of the builds on this forum, from simple to epic, but I really appreciate seeing some of them kept as original as possible, but I am biased though.

Beautiful truck! The mirrors are interesting. What was done to fill the holes from existing SporTruck mirrors?

they don’t really work, but I’m keeping an eye out for someone that does good body work. The previous owner just put the screws that mounted it in the holes.

Nice seat!  Did you recover it?

It’s the original, just keep it covered.
