Ωhm
Your missing the rod for the rear brakes porportioning valve. Its held up with a tyrap. Welcome to the CC forum. Add your VIN to the registry. Also, LOG-IN. Upper right hand of screen. Click on Username. Click on Account Settings. Find and click on Signature. Add vehicle information here (YR, ENG, TRANS, etc, etc) and save. This helps everyone. This information will be available every time you post.

There can be many reasons for a low brake peddle. The height sensing valve may be one of them. Deciding to eliminate the height sensing valve (which serves an important purpose) before knowing what the problem is is not a logical approach. Deciding to eliminate the height sensing valve (which serves an important purpose) before knowing what the problem is is not a logical approach. The LSV is ziptied in the "correct" position which allows normal rear braking pressure - as long as the LSV isn't broken. Start with completely bleeding and flushing the entire brake circuit, inspect all components, and replace if necessary. Chances are that needs to be done anyway. If that doesn't seem to help, look to the rear drum brakes. In cars with rear drum brakes, them being properly adjusted and functional has a huge effect on how the pedal feels. JustEmptyEveryPocket
1 hour ago, Minuit said: Start with completely bleeding and flushing the entire brake circuit vehicle! Any vehicle that I buy (regardless of how good it looks and yours looks quite nice) gets all the fluids flushed and refilled. I recommend you do that as well as refresh all grounds ASAP. Brake fluid, coolant, diffs, engine oil, tranny, everything. That way you know whats in there, and hopefully you are putting in the good stuff. Grounds can always be better on these vehicles. So start with those maintenance items before chasing anything else. Once you get them all done, report back on how the pedal feels, and if anything else came up during your inspection. Ollie
I think you made a good buy on your "new" Comanche. I just got my first one a couple of weeks ago., paid $6K For the past couple of days my friend and I have been playing with it at his shop. I am not sure if you have the switch on the dash to change the transmission from power to comfort. Mine does and I did as suggest here at the site to hot wire it to power. WooHoo..........want a difference. We also changed the filter and fluid. Its like a NEW trans. I am a car guy and the first step is to change all the fluids, at least in my book. 75sv1
The price of XJs and MJs have gone up. No or little rust, I'd say you did good. If you don't have to replace a bunch of parts, then you factor that into the price. If you drive it for 3-5 years with only maintenance, pat yourself on the back. And it looks good just sitting there.
early comanche owner
lol thaks 75, I plan on keeping it more than 3-5 years... I waited 30 plus to by my second Comanche, so plan on keeping it.

early comanche owner
I appreciate everyone's input regarding my brake pedal going to the floor before engaging, Turned out rusted/bad brake lines going to the back after replacing the rear brake lines I have a brake pedal . Work as they should now.
