I hear a carbureted 302 V8 is also a great candidate. I dunno yet, haven't made up my mind. Whatever the case, it would get a much needed tranny upgrade.

A little roller 302 with a stick would be a fun little rig.

I've always liked Bronco IIs too. Some don't like the wrap around rear windows, but I always liked that styling. Saw a High School kid pampering a mint one at a car wash a while back and I had to stop cleaning my vehicle and go drool over his and let him know I appreciated his appreciation for what he had. Alas, I've ended up with Jeeps instead of a Bronco or Bronco II. Have fun with it!

so my godson's grandma drove up from the coast for the holiday and apparently the mild vibration in the steering wheel became a crazy vibration so now I'm fixing yet another vehicle. lol.  besides the obvious vibration, I'm also installing new front pads, new headlights and giving the car a good once-over while I've got the opportunity.

had to drive an hour and rent a dolly to fetch it first.

That’s a large house. Good timing on their part.

It's actually a large garage with a house attached.  2400 sqft of garage space and 2200 sqft of living space.  That large flat roof is roughly south facing and will be covered in solar.

That sounds much better for a car guy haha

welp, the vibration turned out to be 2 bad tires with popped cords.  this lets me keep my sanity intact after I rotated them front to back and the vibration got even worse. lol.  2 new tires and the car is back to normal.  filter is changed and I got the front pads replaced, but the rear needs a special tool to retract the piston so that got put off til later.  headlights should be in tomorrow.  oh, and I gotta attend to a bad taillight bulb.

replaced the tail housings and sockets in the Cruiser.  the old sockets were corroded and burnt and 15 bucks each!  but for less than the price of 4 sockets, I got housings plus sockets plus bulbs.  :dunno:

got a call from a friend that they needed an extraction at the pool.  huh?  the lift was driven all the way down the hill on the sheets, but for some reason the 5000 pound 2wd device wouldn't drive back up the hill.   it just sank right into the dirt.  no idea why they failed to use the plywood for the return trip.  :dunno:  but honestly it didn't matter because after digging it free it took a group effort of my winch and the lift's drive wheels to get it all the way back up to the parking lot.

couldn't get my jack under anything so I had to improvise so I could get a bit of wood under the wheels

finally dug it out enough to get it back into the fenced area

and then applied osb and winch until I got up the hill

OK, projects. First is, I'm finishing the upstairs above my garage. Finishing and painting the drywall from like 2006. Also, linoleum (plastic sheet) flooring. Then finishing my mobile home in WV. OBS on the exterior. New windows. And finished(Almost) a metal roof. Took me 3 weeks on that.

And well an ongoing 'project' of a 2010 Chevy Avalanche LTZ. Rebuilt the motor. Redid the brakes, and interior. Two bad smokers. The Ozium and several cans of it didn't help. Well, the automatic trans blew in WV a few weeks back. Waiting to get it back to IN. Yeah, the fun of a 6L80E rebuild. $$$.

apparently it's super duper common.  the v8 absolutely yanks up with a vengeance each time you gas it.

and I can say that it's also a pain in the hands to accomplish the swap.  :fistshake1:

We never use the rear seat in the FJ Cruiser, they’re always folded down to transport the dogs. Unfortunately when the seats are folded down the cargo area is not flat so I made a platform using prefinished 3/4” birch plywood. The platform is 64 1/2” long, going up close to the center console, I added filler pieces to the sides by the half doors to fill in the gaps and made brackets using 1/4” x 1 1/2” steel flat bar to support the front. Since my wife is short and has the seat far forward I made a filler piece behind the driver seat that folds up accommodating my seat position. I’ll add some 3” foam on top for the dogs’ comfort. Also added some stainless steel corner guard to the back edge for a touch of class.🤣
