Red Mistress Posted February 12, 2023 Author Posted February 12, 2023 Goofing around shop today and got Revolution axles lug studs, seal and bearings pressed on and first coat POR15 applied.
Red Mistress Posted February 17, 2023 Author Posted February 17, 2023 Feel like I won lottery :) Hard find used much less NOS.
Red Mistress Posted February 21, 2023 Author Posted February 21, 2023 Axles multiplying in shop and Detroit true tracks and gear swap stuff everywhere so time get busy setting up gears. I’ve only got 115V welder so buddy pro welder stacked dimes. For C braces, he heated up cast to 350 degrees then stitch welded, making sure lazer temp gun never went over 450. Also cut tower off and installed Metalcloak bracket and bushing race. I’ve got lots of smoothing welds before back to sandblast and then POR15 with matte black top coat. Also installed axle tie down tabs on D44. Due to brake lines on top of axle a strap around tube have chance squishing hard brake line. Left room for sway bar brackets if I need after lifting. Daughters Black Beauty 01 XJ 2 door photobombing.
Gjeep Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 Looking good! Moving forward... MJ will be lifted in no time.
Red Mistress Posted May 3, 2023 Author Posted May 3, 2023 Just the little things in life makes MJ happy. FPR vacuum hose on MJ is spliced in 2 spots and has 2nd crappy Dorman elbow rubber fitting.
Red Mistress Posted January 31, 2024 Author Posted January 31, 2024 Been working away on youngest daughter 06 LJ. Did manage to find wheel restoration shop that would work with Eliminator wheel fake rivets. They machine finished , polished and applied clear powder.

pizzaman09 Posted May 5, 2024 Posted May 5, 2024 That is one fine looking engine in that box. Quite exciting.
Red Mistress Posted January 13, 2025 Author Posted January 13, 2025 Been working on LJ and XJ Chief. Finally found room to unpack second crate of NOS :) 231 AW4 MJ hitch 99-01 XJ skid
Red Mistress Posted March 12, 2025 Author Posted March 12, 2025 Most all of my Jeeps have winches, some have front & rear winches. Nowadays, I enjoy day 2 builds like had accessorized at dealership with Jeep Special Equipment. This is a harder and time consuming build as these parts are 30 to 50 years old now. Dealership accessories were most times way overpriced & aftermarket were most often better and less expensive, so Jeep SE didn’t sell. On page 6 & 7 of this build circa 2020 I showed the Warn & Ramsey “above factory bumper” brush guard / winch mount. I’ve been looking hard ever since, managing to find incomplete 84-96 narrow style and a badly wrecked & incomplete 97-01 style. Have seen others on vehicles but due to rusting from inside out, have get from the West. The Warn 97-01 style while not correct for MJ is my favorite 😍 97+ style is wider than 84-96 style which looks more balanced with the wide nose of XJ’s. Especially since I don’t plan on running the headlight hoops. Well ….
Red Mistress Posted May 28, 2025 Author Posted May 28, 2025 Been driving the Eliminator a bunch, about to hit 130K of trouble free miles. It’s the best shop truck / light hauler. I really need another 91-92 MJ so I can restore this good runner. Been working on XJ Chief and a 99 XJ 2 door.
watchamakalit Posted May 29, 2025 Posted May 29, 2025 Looks like some sort of dip tank. Electrolysis cleaning bath or acid bath?
Red Mistress Posted June 3, 2025 Author Posted June 3, 2025 Indoor ponds for overwintering Tilapia fish for keeping pond clean. Comanche earning its keep hauling them.
Red Mistress Posted August 26, 2025 Author Posted August 26, 2025 MJ down due to steering binding. Time use up some NOS Power steering gearbox is for 2000-01 wonder what difference if any thru years? 28mm sway bar will definitely tighten up things. And tossed in some fresh spicer ball joints.
