1990 2 wheel drive long bed. I had the motor rebuilt at 360 thousand miles about 12 years ago. It's the same original motor but they had to bore it 60 thousands over to take the oval out of the cylinder tubes.  I have to guess but I think it must have at least 500K on the motor.  I bought it new 32 years ago this January. It was on sale for $9,999 at the time. I'm 66 years old now. We both look well used.

You should post that in this thread too, if you haven’t already.

1988 2wd Pioneer.  Original 4.0 Engine and auto transmission.  Valve cover and oil pan have never been off of the motor.

298,900 miles.  The motor is very tired and needs rebulit, but I was trying to make 300K before I do it.

My father bought it new. I drove him to the dealer to pick it up in 1988. He used it to pull a car trailer with vintage Chevys on it for years.  Now it's mine.  Only mods was to replace the instrument cluster after the speedometer shelled itself with one from a Cherokee that had a tach, and the radio was replaced. But I still have the original radio a box on the shelf.

This is the most current picture I have.  It's in the garage this morning to get brakes done.

'tired' meaning it's low on power,? or 'tired' meaning the compression numbers are down?

Never posted mine in here. 324k on the odo when I bought it, and I've put another 18k on it since then. However the cable was unhooked, so who knows. Doesn't have the telltale red tag that the replacement 60° V6s had, so seems to be original.

I looked around for a poll but didn't find it, or perhaps that's something I don't know now to do.  Regardless, my 1990 has 220,730 and runs great.

should be right above the very first post in this thread :L:

Hmm, well I have obviously slept since then.  Maybe that's why I don't see any way to vote now, maybe the polling tool is too smart to let someone vote twice!

Just to continue the fun conversation, I can't see my name by clicking where you said, that's not clickable for a mere user I guess, only superusers!

Not a Comanche but still a 4.0 HO.

1998 XJ bought it in 2007 with 209k on it from original owner. At that point the engine had never been touched internally.

I drove it to 453k in 2018 when I finally parked it. It still had never been opened up. Original valve cover and oil pan gaskets. It still ran halfway decently but the XJ was basically driven into the ground by then.
No picture of 453k but here is one from 433k.image.jpeg.cb873db9e7381b8d636f413031807e84.jpeg

It was my most favorite vehicle ever.

128k. Seems like a lot more in my category than I thought.

88, 2.5ltr, 2 wheel, manual 5, all stock. Runs great (like an old Jeep). Will be parting with it soon due to MS. Wil be posting sale when I meet criteria. Already on cl and offerup. 2.5 lift will be finished. Got a guy coming to finish.

Tired meaning I am running straight 50 weight oil, and the oil pressure makes maybe 20 PSI cold, and 5 when hot.  The engine rattles at startup and a manual oil pressure gauge shows really low pressure all the time.

It is now at 299, 850 miles.  I am debating the rebuild of it, as I figure the cylinders probably have a ridge at the top, and also time constraints.  I have a friend with a Comanche, a Cherokee, and a bunch of other jeeps that is trying to get me to buy a 4.7L long block to put in it.  :-P
