HOrnbrod
A 4DR crew cab = Yuck. I'm sticking with my MJ until they offer a 2DR pickup. If they ever do........
WyoCherokee
Its still a wrangler....
Pete M
might be sweet if they surprised us with that gladiator hood/grille. :D
jimoshel
They will offer whatever the public wants, or will buy. I still prefer the old one seat truck.
dasbulliwagen
I hope for the gladiator grille too to differentiate it from the Wrangler. Though with the huge popularity of the Wrangler they might not want to stray too far from a known winner.

Though with the huge popularity of the Wrangler they might not want to stray too far from a known winner. It also would be cheapest to keep it basically the same as a Wrangler. They could then build it on the same line, as the Comanche was with the Cherokee.
yellaheep
But will it have a V8? That's a heavy pig right there. I don't know that I'd call that a "short bed" either. That departure angle leaves alot to be desired. I think that aesthetically speaking...... the Brute may have this one beat. Won't know until they shed all that silly attention grabbing cover....... The 2 door prototypes a pretty bitchen. Hope that goes onto production. They would miss the boat if they don't do it. The best looking prototype had the tire mounted on the side of the bed. They would almost have to offer a big Engine. If not they would cut themselves out of large part of the tow vehicle market. Maybe a diesel from one of the dodge trucks. Dillithium
That enormous wheelbase and departure angle make me not want it. I hope they offer a single/super cab with a good size bed. If not, I'll be sorely disappointed.
Jeepman
I have no use for a 4 Door Truck, If I wanted one I would buy a Ram... The problem I see with his is that The JK was designed primarily towards off-roading and the modifications we make to our Offroad Jeeps however when the 4 door sold like crazy they switched back to sales mode and are NOT building what the people want they are building something they will sell to non Jeep people to literally get butts in the seats... Personally I feel that Jeep has let us down with this truck especially since ever concept but maybe one has been either a cab and a half or just a single cab and I believe that's what the people want since that's what we have all been talking about since 2005 when they introduced us to the JK and the Gladiator concept... I feel the 4 door truck comes from the fact that AEV had there JK pickup that people were stupidly buying at $60,000-$80,000 which converted Jeep into going with the 4 door so they can continue raping the public like they currently are with these $40,000 JK's... I will go back to my plan of building my own JK truck and forget all about ever buying a New Jeep truck...
dasbulliwagen
There will be NO V8 offered in the JL. We will get an all new turbo 4 cylinder with near 300 HP, the Pentastar V6, also near 300 HP, and theres talk of a diesel as well. I don't see them putting in the 3.0 V6 thats in the Ram and WKII. My guess is another 4 cyl diesel, ala KJ.

gogmorgo
The Ecodiesel isn't "current" in anything right now. Something emissions, dieselgate, yada yada. They've stopped delivering them.

I do not think we will see a diesel. They will not meet emissions and perform satisfactory.

If not, I'll be sorely disappointed. Before committing to different configures they may try the market with one configuration and see how it sells. Jeep is actually building a new plant. Not sure where what I do know is jeep brand mark share increased buy 17% last year. A lot overseas sales. The jeep brand has been steadily growing over the past 6 years. Now they are starting to breakout of there smaller market share. Hopefully they will be a contender with some of the larger auto makers i.e. Ford and Chevy. If this truck is a success this may be the catalyst for that move. It could take many years but it is a possibility with growth like this. I do wish that would redesign the commander. I was interested in it initially that theater seating inside with different levels to the seat make for a great view of the road from the 3rd seat but the design really cut down in the interior squat footage. I believe the sales man told me that interior space was a little larger then my Cherokee Classic. Bing disappointment thought that's going to be hard to compete with the Chevy Tahoe and the the Ford Explorer. I'm seeing more and more Jeeps on the roads and that healthy resale value is also drawing buyers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
DesertRat1991
A huge wheel base Jeep on all-season tires with a bed too small to sleep in..? *sigh*
jpnjim
A huge wheel base Jeep on all-season tires with a bed too small to sleep in..? *sigh* Even worse is all the people so excited to inform you: "Didja hear?!, they're bringing back the Jeep Pickup!!" Me (thinking) big whoop, they could have designed a new TJ/JK half cab any time in the last 20 years if they really cared about this market. I would like to see the JK 4 door body with Hummer Pickup style (no frills) door blanks on the rear doors to make a slightly extended cab 2 door JK pickup. Instead we'll get a giant 4 door pickup with minimal towing/hauling capacity, 14 cup holders and dvd players. I guess it's the thought that counts.
