Blue88Comanche
On my way to work and the utility truck in front of me dropped a hook of some sort and impaled my rear tire. not really a big deal cause the Ford actually had a spare tire. My friends new hyundai only had a can of fix a flat in the trunk. so does your Daily Driven car have a spare? full size or doughnut? My MJ does not have a spare, the WJ had a full size, and both the Charger and the Fusion had doughnuts. Pete M
the libby is the closet thing I have to a DD and it of course has a matching spare. but I also carry a puncture repair kit and a co2 tank because; eagle scout. :D
DirtyComanche
This reminds me... My JK has a fullsize spare. But I don't have the jack. Dodge... No spare. I leave it behind the shed because the winch thinger is broken so you wouldn't be able to lower it if you needed to anyways. Guess what? I have a jack in the Dodge. I keep meaning to snag one of the decent scissor jacks from the boneyard for the JK.
fiatslug87
All mine have full size spares, the question is are they properly inflated??
Minuit
The silver truck has a non-matching spare but it's the correct size. It gets taken down and inflated every couple of months. The 89 doesn't have a spare tire hoist - need to get on that. I don't feel comfortable in something that doesn't have a full size spare.
87Chief
Yeah Hyundai wanted to go more fuel economic so they put a can of fix a flat in and some tools, cost about $300 for a spare tire kit.
Megadan
Always full size if I can manage. I don't like donut spares. I check the spare with my other tires about every 2 weeks (getting fuel) to 1 time a month (because I forgot the last time). I also always make sure I have a working jack. I've had bad luck with picking up screws with my vehicles over the years, so I ensure that I won't be stranded.
Blue88Comanche
Well I got the those plugged and the repair kit tucked away with the jack in the car. While I was at it I inflated the spare. In the morning I'll see if I have more than one hole, but no hissing is a good start. I also bought another repair kit for the MJ. Guess I should put the toolbox back in to hold the ever increasing supplies need to maintain the MJ. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
gogmorgo
I've got one full size spare in the bed of the MJ, just secured with a ratchet strap. And then another three in the basement. Heh. The Niva has a full-diameter spare, but it's the base wheel which is skinnier than my factory alloys and their tires. I think my XJ has a donut in the back, but I haven't pulled the cover off to check. I suppose I could always use one of the MJ's spares, but it'll be a while before she hits the road, so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Wiggilez
my dakota has a full size and the doughnut on my old 89 was almost the same with as the stock base tires.
Keyav8r
MJ has a matching new full size Michelin spare under the bed on a 10 hole with rivets wheel (need to find at least 3 more to replace the Pacers) and an original jack that actually works. Ram has a non-matching (same size, different brand) spare a functional OEM jack. Also have a 12volt inflator but no repair kit. I believe the Mazda 6 also has a full size spare (need to check that) and functional OEM jack.

benjy_26
I have a sorta-donut in the MJ (235/75 15 vs 31's on it now) and a full sized spare in everything else.
87Warrior
The only time I ever use a donut is in the garage. They are the perfect size to wheel around an axle to work on it. I have full sized spares in everything along with a plug kit and small 12v compressor. Sometimes it's just easier to plug it versus dropping the spare. Since I spend the extra coin for 5 tires, I do a 5 tire rotation as well.
