I go back and forward with it. It looks like a cheap knock off a sorry excuse for a 4x4 lrover evoke on one day, and the next I'm giving it the benefit of doubt that it will live up to its namesake in time. It probably won't though. XJs are by far the best bang for your buck 4x4 today, and probably will be for the next 10 years. This may honor its namesake if it's got the Quadra-Drive II system and the pentastar or a nice VM diesel and Rubicon locking diffs,,,,Otherwise, it'll be a 4x4 laughing stock in the Jeep community like an oversized Patriot. I'm sure the engineers weren't oblivious to that fact. Yes it's ugly but our judgements should be reigned in until we get a road test.

Yep, agree with that assessment. The norm here is to badmouth everything new. I kind of agree in this case with this latest Mopar effort, but will wait and see what happens. As it stands now, I wouldn't consider it just because of the Korean Jeep wannabe look. The best modern Jeep offering still maintaining semi-tradition is the JK for me, and it sells very well. In spite of that, Jeep Mopar is always looking for new markets. I'm not a marketeer, and don't understand their shift from the traditional designs that got you there to a completely foreign looking vehicle named JeeP Cherokee but only retaining the slot grille. But they even screwed that up.

UPDATE: Jeep says this isn't what will debut... Maybe second thoughts about that front end? I would like a mini Grand. This is far from it.

I think the same thing everytime someone says that Jeep should make another truck.

I think people forget that Chrysler did not make the MJ or XJ or most of the other Jeeps we like.

Even the wranglers are just carrying on a tradition that has nothing to do with Chrysler.

Yeah my dad did the lights\body exterior on this "jeep", sorry about that. It looks better in person. The reason that jeep keeps coming out with these so called "jeeps" is they are trying to appeal to a wider market (which happens to be 50 year old soccer moms). Believe me it is not a bad car, we are just pissed that they are not doing justice to the Cherokee name.

Your dad needs to be fired.

How does this appeal to a wider market?    It's sooo ugly,  that they HAD to put the name of the known reliable, legendary for it's sales and length of production, Cherokee.

That is the only thing that will sell it.

If they started making xj's again, they would have higher sales than they've had in 10 years.

Your dad, if it's true he worked on it, has a depreciable lack of respect for Jeep, and obviously has no talent.

And to the Mods, I will not aplogize for saying this.
