  1. I have a friend who is looking at this. I just have no idea where they stand in price. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto/4213794810.html
  2. just trying to breath some life into this old thread. I am still experiencing the same high idle problems. thanks
  3. I am sure you have checked but mine stopped working one day when i forgot to top off the clutch fluid (I have a slow leak) and I grabbed a bubble of air. Once bleed it can fine.
  4. Great video, but it had my head hurt. lol :hmm:
  5. What are your guys thought on floating gears (shifting without using the clutch). I have gotten to the point that I can do it with little or no problem. I don't do it often, just every once in a while when I get board driving. What do you guys think the good, bad and, ugly are?
  6. I should note that from the angle of the pic you can't tell that the piece of wood is not cut at 90 degree angles. It was sitting at about a 7 degree list
  7. 100% OSHA approved
  8. Just my 2 cents, check your air cleaner. Bought my truck and did not check it before buying it (yes i know very stupid of me), drove it home and got horrible mileage. Scared me really bad haha. Opened up the air box to find out that the PO put to much oil in the engine. VC has a plow off rose that runs to the air box. My air filter looked like a sponge. Changed it, cleaned the throttle body, and C-foamed the engine, getting good mileage now.
  9. So if you unhook the vacuum canister you do in fact have to "recharge" the system? How is this done? sorry for the thread jack.
  10. found that little plastic piece. well i should say i found two lol. Half had broken off in the end of the breather hose and the other was half was so covered over with dirt that i could not find it. hope tomorrow to have a new one and be on the road. thanks.
  11. ok I was just checking as from your pic earlier of the "4 way" block that that had the vent on the top. I wiil continue the search then, haha. thanks.
  12. And yes once the leaks are stopped i will be cleaning the axle thoroughly lol.
  13. this is what i found. The vent hose itself was attached to bed frame but was not connected to the axle. Is this a PO think or am not getting the idea haha. :hmm:
  14. I was just looking at mine and it looks like on mine, it is on the driver side with the soft break line coming in from the back (where is looks like your is from the front) and the hose coming off the top is vent? Thank you.
  15. Hornbrod, do you happen to have a picture of what you drilled out for the vent? Thank you.
  16. answered my own question. Forgot that last time I watched it done was a dana 35  . Figured out that on the 44 there is the retainer plate. Thanks guys.
  17. I am all confused now. On a dana 44 rear axle what holds the shafts in? I was led to believe that you removed the retainer bolt to remove the pin holding 2 of the spider gears, this allows you to push in the shaft to remove the clip and then pull the shaft out. Is this not the case for a dana 44?
  18. Thank you that makes me feel better. My thought was that he broke it and them tried to drill it out or something. roll pin did not cross my mind haha. In this application just punch it in towards the ring gear till it clears?
  19. Hello everyone it has been to long. So I have noticed a leak from the rear passenger side axle seal for some time now (after parking it would run down the inside of the tire). I ignored it till other day when I got home from work and there was a arc of oil droplets on the finder well. Today I have been inside other axles before so I had some kind of idea as to what I was looking for and what to do. When i took off the diff cover and started to remove the retainer bolt for the pin that holds the spider gears I encountered my first problem. I don't know what to use to get it out...... I was expecting a 1/4 inch 12 sided bolt but this is what i got. Is this some strange new screw i have not seen or is this the PO trying to do the same thing I am just failed horribly at it? Thanks

how does this deal look? http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/pts/3775210757.html
  22. Very cool pics. I am in davis quite a bit of the time (girlfriend) so not to far of a drive to your area. Small world my mom worked at the queen for about 10 years (that was 20 years ago tho), and our house is literally 4 blocks away. I have yet to see an trucks are around here tho. If you are even down this way let me know.
  23. So there have been some new developments. I have yet to replace the o2 sensor, so i am hoping they are all related. Now if i start the truck and drive it about every other time i come to a stop it ideals high around 1200 rpm, the other half of the times i stop it ideals like normal. Also if i turn it off and start it again right away it runs up to 3000 rpm and holds that. When I turn it off and let it cool for a while it will run up to about 2000 rpm and then drop back down to normal. This morning when i started it it ran fine (let it warm up for a few minutes). Does this sounds like it all has the same problem o2 sensor or is it a larger problem? Hope this week or weekend i can get the new o2 in.
