buffalob Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Mine is called bucky. I was trying to teach my youngest to drive a stick when it still had the old puke goat and a very tired slipping clutch, he said it bucked like a mule.... the name stuck. Never been one to name them in the past much. but this ones a manche...(read, has charachter and/or is one). She is going in the paint booth right before turkey day...spoiled b*@$£.
Guest Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 :rotfl2: Thought about naming it for a while, but didn't. The GF has all sorts of names for it, and so do I (mostly curse words). :dunno: Guess "The Honcho" is the closest thing it has to a name. I wish.
Comanche County Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 His name is Big Red. Don't forget it.
AMCJeepMJ Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 I don't name my cars/trucks/vehicles as they already have a name from the manufacturer. Besides, giving it a personified name only makes it more difficult to part with in the event of sale or something more catastrophic/unfortunate.
Butchershop Posted November 14, 2012 Author Posted November 14, 2012 I don't name my cars/trucks/vehicles as they already have a name from the manufacturer. Do you name your pets? Just curious....
Alexia Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Do you name your pets? Just curious.... Emergency Meal Plan #1 and #2
HOrnbrod Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 I don't name inanimate objects either. What's the point? I do however name my pets. If they move.
AMCJeepMJ Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Do you name your pets? Just curious.... The Jeep is not a pet; it does not curl up on the couch, ask to play fetch, bark or meow, nor do any of my other vehicles. Do you name your drill press? Hot water heater? Garage door opener? Alas, they are but machines just like all our Jeeps. On the other hand, boats and ships traditionally have names. Does your Jeep float in water? Mine doesn't.

Kernel Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 my daughters named my rigs with a little disney influence. the mj is named herbie cause it's white with stripes. the other rigs have names like horace, jasper and oddball. my '45 willys got tagged with grandpa. i never have or ever thought about naming a rig but after yrs of saying white, blue, green, junk, *%$#, etc... i call them by there names all the time. edit: but mommy's car is "mommy's car" ?????
SW86 Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 no name for any of my cars/trucks except the first one and i didnt name it. its like theres "that bond" you have with your vehicle, so no name is needed.
Comanche County Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 I name everything. Makes life more interesting and fun. Like my girlfriend "Mrs. Super Siren Lady of the Night", cause she's built like a burlap bag full of bobcats and sexier than socks on a rooster. If you've never been inside a burlap bag full of bobcats, then let me tell you....its quite a lot of fun.

Butchershop Posted November 16, 2012 Author Posted November 16, 2012 Ha. Hope so. My girlfriend is my Mrs.
drcomanche Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 I've taken to calling mine Midori. Japanese for Green. I happen to be a fan of the culture and lived there for a brief time.
Goose Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 My 88' is named Goose. I had the most loyal border collie named goose, and he loved riding in the back of a truck. Died before I bought another one. He was my wheelin buddy.
