mvusse
It's no cooler down here. My little window air conditioner has been working overtime and it is still 82 degrees in the living room. Man I miss my central air! Anyway, does anyone who is going to Pete's have a Comanche/Cherokee shifter for an AX4/AX5? The pin on the bottom of my one shifter is too short (meant for AX15?) causing it to pop out of the cup in the transmission. My other shifter (from a YJ) sits too far forwards and hits the dashboard in 1st, 3rd and 5th.

neohic
A bit of a side note, but another amazing out of state tourist day! Started with the Henry Ford museum and followed up with the Greenfield Village. Fun and amazement for all! ...except for about a quarter of the pictures I took were of Rob ducking or walking out of the way of the camera. Eh... you can't buy memories like this, right? neohic
By no means is this all of the pictures I took. You get the idea, though. I think it was Jay's (somnus) camera that had the majority of the working pictures. Hopefully he can chine in too. I got a few pictures of some work on the floor of the '90. Chrysler Museum: ... and then my camera died the first time. After that, we went back to Pete’s for a little more work: Day later and Rob, Angela, and I decided to skip over to The Henry Ford: Might as well head over to Greenfield while we were there: Webster’s Dictionary? Webster’s house! To finish up, we were there all the way to the end of the day and Angela was asked if she wanted to sound the “quitin’ time” whistle: And then some other stuff: Say it again, amazing weekend! Automan2164
Welp, now that I finally have some time to sit down, here is my synopsis. Good trip. Ben stopped by my place on his way from MN, and I gave him the dime tour of my MJ stash. He spent the night, and we left Friday morning bound for Pete's. Angelas car was loaded down with tools, a welder, chainsaw, bumper, and other goodies. Torrential rain plagued us practically the whole way there. The Corolla did great, as it usually does. Once we got to Pete's, Jay (somnus) was already there, as well as a friend of Pete's. After getting the dime tour there, we tore into it. Marcel (Mvusse) Showed up a bit later on, and jumped in. As a whole, we got a ton done on Pete's fleet. Summary: '90: Vacuum lines pieced in Air filter put on Rear shackles changed Floor cut out and welded in Exhaust removed, drilled out studs on the header Rims/Tires swapped Window regulator changed out U-joint put in the rear driveshaft Output shaft seal Front bumper exchanged '88: Brake booster changed out Rear perches tacked on Spring bolts tightened up Brakes bled Motivated the starter to start General tasks: Tree trimmed Tree taken down Logs cut up and stacked I am sure I am forgetting some stuff too. We had a tent for the first couple days, but we did get to see Pete's friend the code enforcement guy sniffing around Pete's house while we were there. He had actually told Pete to remove the tent because he didn't have a permit for it. We got the full experience, hassle and all. :D Other activities included the group trip to the WPChrysler museum, and the side trip for Angela, Ben, and I to the Henry Ford. I can't even begin to tell you how disappointed I was with the Chrysler museum. First off, they didn't have anyone there to give us the guided tour, as I set up weeks in advance. No one had an explanation why, but it seemed that when I told the manager who I had set everything up with, he knew where the problem was. While he was very apologetic, that didn't put the tour guide back in the tour. We trucked on by ourselves throughout the museum, starting with the beginning of Chrysler, and worked our way around chronologically. After seeing some cool stuff on the top few floors, we were all excited to hit the basement, where the "Boss Chryslers Garage" was, and where the "70 years of Jeep" was. Boy was that sad. The whole tribute to Jeep was a handful of Jeeps, and not one single MJ. No XJ's, no ZJ's, no FSJ's... weak. There was a CJ2A, a CJ5, a MA, Willys Wagon, Jeepster, The Sahara TJ, and that was pretty much it. Pics: It's up for ADOPTION! We could sponsor this for a year, and put the club name on the plaque for $450. Chryslers answer for a tank engine. Take 5 I6's, make them turn a common shaft... Kinda neat. The only mention of our small piece of the pie in the whole "70 years of Jeep". Angela and the Sahara TJ. (She has the hots for Steve Zahn) For Bo And finally, the Forced Family Fun shot. Hard to get everyone to stand in front of a camera. Left to Right: Automan2164 Neohic Mvusse Pete M Somnus The Henry Ford / wrenching pics tomorrow. Rob
