Pete M
I'll avoid the obvious ones like the lift and 4wd conversion and just look at specific additions to the 88. 1: rocker guards. I could not possibly be happier with my design. :D 2: 33x14 boggers for the rear. not that the trXus aren't cutting it, but come on, they're BOGGERS! They are insanely wide and gnarly looking and the traction is phenomenal. 3: disk brake conversion for the 9". I hated those stupid 30 year old drums. :fs1: wow, that was a harder list to make than I thought. I guess it shows I don't do anything to my baby unless it's awesome.

kastein
This is a real tough list... and I haven't even done many mods, since it's my daily driver / super-stock build / resto-mod sort of thing. * 4wd swap - definitely top (even though it's not complete yet) * WJ booster swap... stops so much better * OHC from a 96-down XJ (going to require some modification to the OHC frame) plus a headless-modded CB... this stuff is all torn apart on my living room floor right now My MJ came with a slider window, full console, and bucket seats, so I didn't need to do anything there

james750
The WJ booster is a dual diaphram booster that is more than twice as powerful than a 1st gen XJ/MJ single diaphram booster. The WJ booster's are easier to make work in an MJ/1st gen XJ as it doesn't sit as far forward (no need to remove washer bottle)as the 2nd gen XJ dual diaphram booster, and the stock brake pedal height is retained with the WJ booster (2nd gen XJ dual diaphram booster moves the pedal way higher than stock). Also the WJ booster is a bit more powerful than the XJ dual diaphram booster.

The 95-96 XJ dual diaphragm booster is a direct bolt-in for the HO MJs and retains the stock pedal height using the 1/4" alum. spacer plate that comes w. the 95-96 booster.
