  1. Good formula: New tire size x current gears divided by factory tire size

    Gas prices

$1.21 a liter or $5.49 a gallon in Alberta, really depressing I started driving in August and gas has gone up almost 40 cents a liter.
  3. Witch manifold would fit? Intake/Exhaust? Both? And whats the notching... My project would be way easier if the HO exhaust fits. Exhaust, my old one was cracked really bad so I threw one from a H.O. on. All I had to notch was that support brace running across the manifold. I made sure the gaskets matched up fine ( and they did) I believe it ws a renix gasket but i can't remember. Definately gained power (spun 33's on gravel in 3rd gear doing 60 with a locker and stock gears), my good cherokee won't even do that with 31's and an open diff.
  4. Bored throttle body, C.A.I, Free flowing exhaust. If it's a renix put a H.O. manifold on (yes it will fit just needs some slight notching) Ford 5.0 injectors I really noticed a power difference with this. I have 31's a 5 speed and stock gears (3.07's, and can actually gain speed in 5th gear now). Just make your motor more efficent. It needs air fuel and spark. As mentioned a full tune up (Spark). cold air (air) and the ford 5.0 injectors (Fuel) Throw in the free flowing exhaust and you might gain 15 hp max.
  5. We have 3 parts stores here a napa crappy tire and bumper to bumer a little independantly owned store. Crappy tire is a joke they were trying to tell me my motor size was needed to figure out what rear u joint I needed going to the axle from the driveshaft  The locally owned one is awesome, guys working there built motors in the back and have at least one project on the go, and I get the company discount because they all are surprised at my age that I'm into mechanics.
  6. When you show people a picture and they ask how hard it was to put a box on a cherokee. :thwak:
  7. '91 cherokee: 248,000 km's starts as good if not better then moms 06 expidition in the cold '91 cherokee:303,000 km's, little tired but ran good '89 cherokee 488,000 km's, chucked a rod '92 cherokee 358,000 km's, P.O. took a chunk outta the piston somehow? '88 comanche 346,000 km's needed rings, a litre of oil every 20 minutes  '89 comanche 268000 km's Best running most powerful 4 litre I have ever rode in, would smoke 31's on wet pavement in 1st 2nd and chirp 3rd
  8. I think it's a really cool idea. Looks good.
  9. I have a grey dash and painted some of it red as I have the diff covers and all that painted. Before I did that I made sure I had a spare dash. Have you tried taking some brake clean to that red paint? Chances are he didn't prep it very good and the paint wiil come off easy.
  10. Buddy has one with a C.A.I. stage 2 shift kit and exhaust, at 30 km/h if he punches it it will squack the tires
  11. So CPS is sitting at 290 ohms. Would that little difference keep it from running?
  12. Thanks, will try tomorrow. Any ideas about the ignition problem mentioned above?
  13. I kinda have it hotwired right now. There's a bare wire P.O. spliced in and when connected to power it cranks over the motor.
  14. Have a 1988 comanche was running before motor swap. (new) 4.0/AX15/NP231 put in. Pulled powertrain running out of a 1989 comanche, So here's my problem: I have no spark. Have power to the coil (yellow wire) And I have ground. I was reading that I need coil pulse to make it work. Is this correct? And if so where does the coil pulse come from? Also new crank sensor New cap and rotor New plugs & wires. On a completly unrelated note, I cannot turn my motor over with my key. Turn to run position and fuel pump primes everything turns on, but when I turn to start nothing happens, Are these 2 problems related? Thanks Justin
  15. Could the syncro's be going out? edit** reread (No syncro for reverse  ) Jeepcomj and Eagle are on the right track, try bleeding again When I swapped tranny's it took about 3 times bleeding it to get all of the air out.
