Hey All,

Once I got the new gas tank in, I started using the truck quite a bit. I'm getting ready to move to Madison to start my new job on June 1st now that I am gradumatated from college.

We used the truck to move me home and also to go get my Dad another project vehicle, what a mess that was. ;) The late snow-melt and a yard full of clay soil made things tougher. Even if I would have had lockers, all 4 wheels spun at the same time trying to pull it out with the truck with the air down in the tires. Had to just block it up and winch it out of its hole.

Now that I'm back home, I swapped my aluminum rims back on and I'm getting ready to put the truck away for awhile. I'm not planning on having both MJ's in Madison until I own my own place a few years down the road. When I come home I'll keep it limber by driving it, but the miles will be going on the white MJ for awhile.

Yah Roger, my mistake on that one (So far now I owe you two days of Jeep stuff - I'll make good on it someday :fool: ) I failed to realize that the Jeep blessing was the same weekend as my graduation from college. While you were having a blast watching other guys play around on the obstacle course that they usually have setup there I was walking across a stage 8 hours north and getting my diploma...

When you called the house, you got no answer cause my parents came up for the whole graduation deal. While they were up there, we snagged that Willy's truck in the pics for Dad.

How are the yokohama geolanders working for you? I was thinking of getting some of them myself.

They are treating me well so far. I have no complaints with them. All winter they sat in the barn because they are on my nice rims. Now they are back on the truck and they ride just like they did last fall - got a nice hummmmm to them and they have worked great off-road for me...

The fuel pump and sending unit is the stock one, there is one that looks just like it in your MJ too if you have a SWB...

As far as trimming, nothing has been trimmed yet. I do have some rubbing though, but it is nothing I am worried about.

To be more specific, use this link :dunce:

The front bumper I bought from them is a stage 4 and I have nothing but good things to say about it!

Also, JCR NOW has rear bumpers and sliders for MJ's for sale... see if you recognize the rear bumpers too...the rear bumper on this truck started it all. Thanks to them, I don't have to make rear bumpers for you guys anymore. :rotf:

The rear Dana 44 came from a 1987 XJ with the Towing Package( - I think). I know it came from the '87 XJ - the seller - dfreeman616 - informed me of this. I think that all Dana 44's came in XJ's with the Towing package - however I am not certain of this.

I do know that Dana 44's were available as a option (in the towing package or Metric Tonne package in XJs and MJs) from 1987 to 1989.

I cut the perches off of the axle with a 4.5 inch angle grinder and re-welded them onto the alxe so they would fit the MJ measurements (you can re-use them if you don't gouge them up bad).

When you put the axle in the vehicle, make sure your pinion angle is correct to your truck or else you will get vibrations from having U-joints at non-canceling angles...

Shock mounts - I just re-used the stock ones and bought longer shocks. The shocks I have in there now are too short though, need to get longer ones, probably going to be getting them soon. :rotfl2:

Hope that helps.

So, in two weeks I get to drive my beloved '88 all the way back over here to Wisconsin to be reunited with me again. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

I'll post pics up once I get it here, should be a good time back at home (it'll also be my 24th Birthday), be nice to spend time with loved ones again and to GET MY TRUCK BACK!!! :clapping:

I found these pics the other day when I was going through my camera case and found my "Hunting" SD card. I took these last fall when I went out to retrieve my bow-stand the day before rifle season started back in Upper Michigan. It's gonna be hard to find a place this nice this fall in Wisconsin... I had apple trees around me here and was sitting in a small Oak tree with two long ranges of vision to the NW and SE along the lines. Lots of action there... I'd be lucky to find a nice Oak again in amongst the corn fields around me here. But the upside to that is that there ARE corn fields around me here... It'll be an all new experience for this Michigan Boy this year...

Anyway, back to the point, I GET MY TRUCK HERE IN TWO WEEKS!!!

Also realized I never put this one up, this is what the truck looked like right before I parked it in the woods and put the cover on it back at home.

Well, we made it over here to Wisconsin just fine.

Over Labor Day weekend I took the truck back up to the UP of Michigan to go spend time with friends that are still in college and do some mild wheeling and camping. We went out to one of my favorite places to wheel, the Stampsands of G a y, Mi. Not any pics of the action cause I was driving. We camped about 25' from Lake Superior though, made for a great night!

Sometime soon I'm going to start putting a little bit of cash away from each paycheck for the next step in this project. Going to finally get some lockers for it and a beefy steering setup.

The truck is now licensed in Wisconsin with a "Hobbyist" plate. This plate ran me $200 but I never need to renew it and it will stay with me for the rest of my life. I can't drive the truck in January and can only haul a total of 500 lbs. Also to be eligible for the plate the vehicle must be at least 20 years old and I must have another primary vehicle, thank goodness I have two MJ's! I'll get pics of the plate when it comes in the mail, it's green and gold. :rotfl2:
