The Big One.......2ft of Snow

I know for you boys in the Northeast, Colorado, Washington etc, 2ft is a more common occurrence. But its probably been well over 20yrs since VA got over 2ft (maybe exaggerated, but even here in the Shenandoah Valley that's a lot), even though we get pretty regular snowfall every year. I think once in the 4yrs I was in Pittsburgh we got this much snow.

I went by the office to see if the crews were out clearing snow in the shopping center we manage. I got a scoop of snow from one of the loaders to give me some weight for traction. A little more than I wanted, but the MT springs seemed to not have a problem with it. :brows:

In the second picture, that's my car under there.

They actually got it right for once for us. They had said 1-2, changed it to 1-3, then back to 1-2. We got just over 1".

Next week I'll be smack dab in the middle of the Lake Huron snow belt for a week. That usually give me my fill of snow for the season.

It's always great to see other places get a little too much snow at once :D

Kind of take the bad wrap off the Buffalo area :teehee:

I know your not use to it, but........after some time, you'll enjoy it

That's if your back holds out from all the shoveling.

We were heading north on 77 up through virginia, and WV during this storm and got stuck on the WV turnpike for 5 hours without moving. When we were moving we were dodging abandoned cars in the middle of the freeway that had been plowed around! An entirely dangerous situation. We started looking for a hotel and heard that every one was booked because of it, but we remembered the Hawks Nest State Park in Ansted, WV, called them and they still had rooms! (only because nobody knows they are there!) and we are now here for the second day waiting on the roads north to get cleared. We are first heading to mvusse's neck of the woods near Canton, OH, then up to Michigan to swing through Pete's neighborhood, and then back... that is if we ever get there! Hopefully WV will have thier she-ite together by tommorow. Wish us luck, just wish I could enjoy the snow in this area instead of having to dread it.

Weather channel had a lady on the phone that got stuck in traffic there Friday afternoon around 4pm trying to get home in SC from Medina (Cleveland), OH. Finally got moving again 2pm Saturday afternoon, having lived on water and chips she shared with her dog for 22 hours. They called her back around 6pm and she was like 25 miles from home then.

I was wondering if you were gonna check in Greg

We got about a foot here in the local Richmond area. Had our local Jeep club's annual Christmas party last night.......we had some fun.

Jeff

Yeah, my sister said she got around 14 inches down in the Willow Lawn area, what'd you get down your way?

Also, did my good deeds today pulling out a mini van and a GMC Jimmy with my tug-em strap. Loved it.......

MJ stayed in the garage, me and the wife played in the TJ.......BFG AT's suck in the slush 'n crap, but dig like a mother in virgin snow jamminz.gif

First time I've owned BFG A/Ts and was very impressed. Seemed ok in some of the slush today, we'll see for sure in the next couple of weeks as it all turns to crap. But like you said, they took me wherever I wanted yesterday when it was already over 18" of the fresh stuff.
