Automan2164
Just figured since most of us have pets who we care about, and are extended family members, I thought I would start a thread. Post up a pic of your pet, and some details. Tank: Tank is my Parrot. I named him that for shock value. You expect a huge bird, but he's only about the size of a deck of cards. He is a Pacific Split Blue Parrotlet. Tank is about 3 years old, and can live 20+. He can talk, and says "Hey buddy", "Baby", "What!?", and is a pretty good mimicker. He actually started laughing awhile ago. Not just a chuckle either. He gets the wind up, with a long Haaaaaa-ha-ha-ha... Sometimes does it in complete silence, have to wonder what he's thinking. All his talking is animated too, with shoulder and movements for emphasis. He can't scream like a big parrot though, which is awesome. He acts like a dog, and will beg for food, as well as help you with your cereal in the morning. I am working on perch training him now, so he flies to his perch when he has to drop a deuce. (He is somewhat of a sholder pooper right now, but its the size of a bb, so, no big deal) You can pet him like you could a dog, and he puffs right up and leans in. He will even start picking at your hand if you stop. This is a pic from when he turned into an EMO bird, and plucked out some feathers. I was taking him to the vet for a general checkup, and he seemed a little more comfortable on my shoulder than in a box in the ZJ. So I took an action shot. He is all better now, and running up and down the couch and yelling at anyone who passes by. Usually if you look down at him, he will look up at you and let out a "What!?" EDIT: The GF saw this thread while I was sitting here, and wanted me to put a pic of her horse up. His name is Austin, and he's a 7 year old paint. Geonovast
Carmen: My 12 year old, who I've had since she was about 5 hours old Fable: My 3 year old, he's definitely the second smartest cat I've ever seen. He knows where the laser pointer dot comes from, he attacks it when it's off, seems to try to turn it on, has a separate beg for the dot, and he knows he can't catch it, but he still obsesses and freaks out over it. Buster: Not the brightest, but a goof. This is the only full grown pic I can find. This was soon after he got fixed and the incision got infected, so he got coned. Bonkers: Very, very strange cat... Dan(left) and Ding(right) who are the cats my GF had before she got me. She's got a third but I can't seem to find any pics. But they're all very friendly and sociable, nothing like most of the cats I've met who do nothing but hide. Some random pics:

LoTGoD
Sadly, I lost her to the ex-girlfriend when we broke up. Her name is Cherokee, and she was the first real pet I ever had. My mom wouldn't let us have any pets when I lived at home. Haven't found a new one yet. She's a Sox fan as well!!!!

pilotblake
This is Otto he came to work with me this morning, maybe some real work will get done. He is 4 and is a German sheppard, australian sheppard mix. Incredibly smart. If he could talk, he would, can bark the equiv to 1, 2, 3 in spanish (don't know german) Has to go everywhere, and still has waaay to much energy. Learns just about any trick in a couple tries, and has one ear that sticks up and the other stays down :dunno: . When he was a pup we tried tapping his ear to make it stay up, but he looked so pathetic we couldn't do it. Now he is recognized everywhere he goes because of it. reson46
This is Axle. He is a four year old mutt that we got at the humane society as a puppy. He was smaller than our 25 pound Sheltie back then. This is Moab. He is a three year old mutt that we found abandoned in a park. :fs1: Apparently he had just been given to a new home the day before. When the father got home he decided to dump him at the park. :fool: I don't understand morons like that. He is a great dog. Persistently happy and wagging his tail. This is the most recent addition, Jeep. He is a 10 year old Australian Cattle Dog we picked up this spring from a local rescue. His previous family had him since he was a puppy and decided to abandon him when they had a baby. :headpop: He can be pretty cranky and at times is really resistant to do anything you tell him to. He didn't seem to have much training. We are working on getting him to play nice with Moab and the cat. This is Chevelle. I can't remember how old she is, something like five or six. She was my wife's roommate's cat before we got married, but she liked my wife better. Moab is the cat's best friend. Willy
Darren
Meet MJ: She's a kitty. Edit: I didn't write kitty. I wrote kitty. I'm not using that word in a bad context. (i.e. I want to @#$% your kitty, or, Rob is a kitty.) What kind of animal do we have, we have a kitty named MJ. I guess my point here is, i don't like this auto-edit thing we got going on here. It's really kitty if you ask me.
64 Cheyenne
This is Mojo sportin the black eye I gave him(with a sharpy). He is an 8yr old Red Heeler/Australian Shepard mix. He is AKA Dumb @$$, says so on his dog tags, even answers and comes to it. I got him when he was still runny poopin all over the place. Yes, he has a police record, reason for the AKA...... Few More pics of him. Loves water! Image Not Found Mojo got his name because where I got him from, he was named Mo. All the pupies in the different litters were named after movie themes or characters. Wyat, Doc, Mo, from the OK coralle. Mo sounded too close to no, so it was simple enough to change his name to Mojo, and the rest is history. He follows me everywhere, is super smart, obeys hand signals, very loyal and protective. Loves pick up trucks!
dasbulliwagen
Here is a pic of Gizmo suffocating me sitting on my chest. He is one of 8 we have. Gizmo, Enzo, Blackie, Conlan, Topaz, Saphire, JD, and Beckham. All of them were picked up as kittens and except for Gizmo and Enzo, they used to be up for adoption through a local rescue organization we worked with. We put close to 40 cats and kittens through our home in the last 6 years. Sorry I don't have pics of everybody on this computer. Which one is the baby? :shake:
dfreeman616
This is our Wolf... His name is Jake. Seriously, he's a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog We just got him last night. His former family had to give him up since the lady's elderly mother was moving in with them due to health concerns, and the mother is allergic to dogs. They didn't want him to go the pound or anything, so now he's living with us. He's obviously very smart and fairly well trained, and we think he's about 6 or 7 years old. His old family saved him as a stray. He's intelligent and well-trained, and the only time he barks is when something really is going on, like a thief being in the backyard and have the police show up a few minutes later. CWLONGSHOT
GREAT THREAD!! Someone started one some time back, but it fizzled. Glad this one has momentum!! Pets are such a HUGE part of our collective lives!!! We have two, Riley and Rocco, here is Riley. A 130Lb Rot-Sheppard mix. Rocco is our "new" dog. he is a Jack Russell mix. He was a rescue, a problem dog that was to be put down. He dosen't (didn't) have good "manors" with other dogs. We figured they don't come much tougher than riley. SO, we gave him a shot. He has made excellent improvements. It only took four "encounters" for him to realize his 15Lb frame cannot impose his opinion on a rock headed 130 Rot!! LOL Now he walks behind Riley and allows him to go out the door first. Its a laugh when Riley barks.. Rocco comes up behind and adds his "voice" but only from behind Riley!!! No more growling when he has food. He is becoming a very nice "lil bugger". Here i both of them with Momma on the couch at our hunting cam last month.
