Well today I mounted my 33" mtr's on my Moab rims, picked up the metal for the winch bumper and the rock sliders, ordered the 6.5" Rc long arm lift, and lastly picked up the Dana 30 non cad axle, and the Chrysler 8.25. I was real busy today but had a smile the whole time!!! It's going to be a busy week.

Not TO the MJ, but FOR the MJ went to pull-a-part in Both Akron, and Canton. (Akron admission got me into Canton for free :D ). Scored driver and passenger side mirrors, 2 almost brand new air filters, passenger vent window assembly, and a full gauge cluster with tach for the XJ. Now I just need the oil pressure and coolant temp sensors to make it work.

Akron yard had an 89 SWB Sport truck, but all MJ specific parts were gone already safe for the fuel sender. And it had been mangled by somebody that evidently just needed the pump

Removed the bad alternator only to find out both my relocation brackets had broken. At least now I know why the belt kept getting loose.

So 18 gauge sheet metal is not strong enough. I will make a new straight bracket out of 3/16 plate I have laying around, but have no clue what I'm going to do for the angled one yet.

I'm slowly working to finish my rear bumper and trailer hitch project, but in the last couple of days, the boss has been wanting to drive his and after years of neglect he is finnally doing some stuff to it. I know pretty much all of whats wrong with it, but knowing too his aversion to spending any money on it, I have not suggested anything. I guess this week things are finally getting to him.... during last weekends snow he tried to use the 4wd and it wouldnt work, so he had me look at that. Of course it was the CAD, I founf the vac lines to it completely missing, so I made up a new set and cleaned it all up and got it working, then today he finally tired of the squeely belt and the muffler rattle, so I installed a new muffler and new belt... al quiet now! Oh yeah... his is a 1988 Olympic Edition 4.0 auto 4x4 SWB.

After replacing a bad alternator I cleaned the snow off it, as well as the ice underneath the snow (water crossing deeper than the bed floor a week and a half ago, with snow already in the back) out of the bed. Broke both my snow shovel and broom in the process.

But now I can drive it to work tomorrow, park it in the heated shop without flooding it, and rotate the tires and change gear oil in the axles after work to get ready for an invitation only weekend on private property. It'll be fun setting up my tent on 20+ inches of snow.

I think I'll leave the broken mirrors until Monday.

Did somebody say something about spring? I got more snow on the ground than I've ever seen since I moved here 17 years ago. With a bit of luck I'll find my lost keys back in June when the snow finally melts.

Anyway, back on topic, I had to use a crow bar to put the tailgate back on. Turns out I got a new dent on the passenger side lower rear corner, pushing the tail gate hinge piece in a good two inches. No clue where that happened. Probably a chunk of floating ice, or when I fell through the ice.
