what did you do to your MJ today?

Cling wrapped the driver door to act as a temporary window. I have an hour and a half drive to get to Cable Creek tomorrow morning and 60mph wind chill is pretty dang cold when it's 38 degrees outside. Also seem to have a screech from one of my rear disc brakes. Will investigate this afternoon.

The screeching turns out to have been remains of the passenger side parking brake that blew apart. But since the parking brakes had never been hooked up anyway, I simply removed them.

Who designed the ZJ rear brakes anyway? Main brake is disc, but parking brake is little drum inside the rotor hat

I have a piece of real thin lexan that I cut for the drivers window on mine. I broke it plowing snow last winter and really couldnt stand the trash bag flapping in my ear. I cut the lexan the same size as a stock window but its thin enough I can bend it and snap it into the window channels. I was going to toss it when I put the window in but figured it just might come in handy again....lol

they aren't the only manufacturer using that design. Explorer 8.8s have the drum E-brake too.

Took it for a spin at Cable Creek. Holy off-camber, batman! They do not have a single trail that is within 20 degrees of flat. At one point I was so far off camber that even being at least 5 gallons down, gasoline came pouring out of my tank. Was afraid I'd flop or roll numerous times

Got my rear chrysler 8.25 w/ the 3.55 welded in...I NOW HAVE 4x4!!! :D jamminz.gif Got to go play on some trails now before the snow comes in too thick, they are calling for another big storm this week, but the closer we get, the warmer it looks, so maybe just rain :clapping: Got to get my rear brake line figured out first though, gonna go to NAPA tomorrow and see what they can do.?. This will at least buy me some time as I look for some 4.10's.

Had to get my rear driveshaft retubed and the double cardan joint rebuilt. The centering pin and ball were wasted and the u-joints were water-contaminated. Unfortunately, after doing the Rubicon Trail back in June, I neglected to regrease the shaft. :fs1:

Well, at least the Jeep is running very smoothly now.

Took the Flowmaster 40 series muffler off and put an OEM replacement on :( Neighbors didn't like it as much as I did :hmm: Didn't care their thoughts until I rescently got a second job, which requires I drive my vehicle doing early morning deliveries...bossman wanted my truck to be quieter :wall: Dunno about any of you, but a growling, roaring 4.0 liter is music to my ears...I like to feel my exhaust in the frame; what the hell is wrong with these people!?! Oh well, I guess I can deal with the "silence" for that extra paycheck right now.

Replaced rotors and drivers side wheel studs after losing a wheel on Sunday. 7 months of working on my truck making everything PERFECT and I forget to tighten the lugs all the way! Why am I so dumb? :wall: :wall: :wall:

Last week I finished wiring up the trailer lighting, and added some of those license plate light/bolt things for my new bumper. Got everything ready for towing so hopefully I can take the sailboat out before winter  Then, when I went to open the tail gate to put stuff back in, broke the handle right off! :fs1: Just the Jeep's way of saying that there's always something more to be done...

Any good ideas for a replacement handle I can get?

Got it stuck  jamminz.gif

Put the final touches to my 4x4, and despite bald tires, I knew it was snowing on the top of the mountain and couldn't resist a 4x4 test. Pulled off onto the trail and it did GREAT! :clapping: Tried climbing a steep hill, with no luck :( So I went to leave, and the plow had made a few passes...the burm was a little deeper than I thought :shake: Yep, got 'er stuck, right on the roadside during commuting hour for all the world to see  People had their cameras out taking pics, the cops used me as an excuse to look busy and add to the excitement with those flashing lights and I even got a few dirty looks accompanied by shaking heads. The whole time I had a huge grin on my face...finally my buddies showed up to my rescue with tow straps and shovels jamminz.gif Just the first of many. I love my Jeep.
