what did you do to your MJ today?

Installed a new valve cover gasket. PO had installed the cork gasket and every single bolt was only hand tight. To say the least it was an oily mess.

FYI the valve cover bolts are only supposed to be in the neighborhood of 30 inch/pounds tight, which wasn't even hand tight for me.

hood spacers installed :chillin:

raised it up about an inch and half. should let out all that unwanted heat now

Thats a crazy good idea

I know Hondas do that because of ther engine swaps. Engine is too big?? Use hood spacers!

haha. it works great. the MJ would slowly creep up in temps just sitting around or after hard 4wd use. now it just barely moves, if at all. you can feel the heat rolling out after i shut it down and sometimes i see the nonstop stream of heat waves pouring out. its great. heat rises anyway so it just flows right on out. i havent had many issues with water but then again we havent really gotten a heavy rain.

Replaced front axle tube and pinion seals, new brake pads and new front driveshaft. Also swapped driver side door panels between the purple people eater and Wilbur, after modifying them for a speaker. Oh and I installed a new speaker in Wilbur's driver side door, and put my play tires back on.

southernwheeler86, looks killer man! Congrats!

Just picked up the AEV wheels after being mounted and balanced at the tire shop! In the process of doing a front brake overhaul. The MJ is happy :chillin:

Sweeeeeeet! :clapping:

FINALLY got around to refinishing the J10 emblems today. Ran out of flat black and had to throw glossy black on the other one. Should have just used glossy for both.

Hmmm let's see.

I took it off road, lost a tail light but had fun until the front axle locked up. Turned out the tension pin holding the center shaft in the front diff had somehow fallen out, allowing the shaft to slide out far enough to come into contact with the pinion gear. Center shaft is now broken and pinion gear looks like a dog chewed on it.

Pulled both axle shafts to remove the entire carrier, and reinstalled axle shafts. FORGOT TO TIGHTEN THE LUG NUTS! Went to limp it home and lost a tire after 3 miles. Of course this had to happen on a downhill; the tire just kept on rolling down the road alongside the guard rail. I finally fount it about a tenth of a mile down the road...

Oversized battery came loose and decided to play rough with my alternator. Alternator chewed the side of it up and sent battery acid over half of my engine compartment. Cleaned everything up as best I could and used a gratuitous amount of rust inhibitor on the spots where the acid hit.

Decided enough was enough, so I went and got a factory sized brand new battery. $80 later, problem solved. Now I'm flat broke though. :fs1:
