Boots
changed the transmission oil lastnight and managed to get some black stuff on my arm... Dish detergent, hand soap (x6 washes), gojo (x3), bar soap, and body wash will not remove it... The only non caustic hand cleaner I've had good luck with is GOOP Hand Cleaner. It can also be used as a spot cleaner on fabric. If all else fails, use gasoline or paint thinner or something like that. Will most likely dry out your hands tho. Zenobian_84
Pretty sure I'm going to have to redo the oil pan gasket.... it's losing about 1/2 a quart of oil every 2 days. This time, not using the cheap @$$ $12 cork gasket. The thing comes loose waaayyyy to easy, and at the worst possible times. Still waiting to get a chance to go do the following: Go to the junkyard to pick up a fender Install my fog lights and switch Fix my interior lighting Get new tires for the truck Put the new rims on the truck Get the rest of the rust off the bed and cabin / repaint each. Repaint the roof Redo the headliner -------------------- Too bad I hardly have any time at all to tackle even one of these things. :fs1: :headpop: :shake:
johnnyc
My bed has been taking a few hits. I just received a check for $335 from the last guy to run into my bed. On a whim, I checked car-part.com and found a nice bed in excellent condition. It was in Bakersfield, 150 miles away. But it was listed for $250. I called the yard and they e-mailed me some pictures. My buddy and I drove up there this morning, got the bed, and took it to a friend's shop in town to do the swap. The bed is in really great shape, with just one small ding. It did have a plastic bedliner, so the floor is really nice. What's even better is that the price included two perfect taillights. The new bed is the one on top, with the SporTruck decals. Rymanrph
I dropped off the bench top at the upholstery place to fix the ripped seam across the top and swap it onto my old '90 bench back with headrests. I should have it back next week.
Blue88Comanche
last night when dad was on his way home, a truck from the other side of the road with its high beams on passed him on the way home and something hit the truck. dad said that because the guys highs where on he moved towards the edge of the road and heard something hit the front of his jeep just as they passed one another. we also found a good sized rock lodged in the grille. I just finished replacing those freakin parts and they are all damaged again! looks like a trip to the JY is in the works now... the headlight, and everything in the center of the pictures are damaged in one way or another. RockMJ
Today i will bleed the brakes. This should be shouted from the edge of a cliff like in some dramatic ancient war movie lol. Today I got a bit done with doing some paint work and trimming the fenders for the Bushwackers RockMJ

RockMJ question where did you find the rear window seal? would it work for the four piece slider? thanks
RockMJ
My gasket was in good shape so I used RTV and resealed the window in all the corners. Worked great RockMJ

RockMJ
Made some serious progress today. Herculined the bed, bedsides, tailgate, and interior. Once it dries the interior is going back together and bucket seats will go in this weekend! RockMJ

MJRemi
The 87 had been lowered so the leaf packs, shocks, and front coils were of no use to me. I swapped in the leafs from Jake's MJ (gogetemturbo) and coils from a late 90s XJ. I had about 10 minutes to purchase shocks at the closest Autozone and they only carried Gabriel so I got the Ultras front & back. I have never had Gabriels before and I hope they are decent quality. Once I bleed the brakes and mount the front wheels, Red October will be road worthy.
RockMJ
Just finished up Herculining the bed, interior, and tailgate. I also modified the OEM LJ tire carrier I had left over from my last Jeep to work in the bed. I also drilled it out for a 5x5" BP that my new wheels are as well as being able to go back to the 5x4.5" BP. Works damn well and it didnt cost me a dime even with the spare grade 8 hardware and paint I had lying around. here's some pics RockMJ
