(Did this yesterday) Entered my MJ in a car show, class 7 for stock trucks. Got 4th place ;) Was only 4 trucks entered in that class :( . But I got something better then a trophy. Met a guy named Bob there and he said he use to own a 1990 Comanche and had a spare rear bumper I could have for free (was just going to throw it away  ). He went home and brought it to me. Was I surprised , this thing is straight. :D

I didnt do this all in 1 day. more like in 1 week.

Smoked my front turn signals,

Installed toolbox in bed,

Had installed black D window rims,

Installed new stereo "digital receiver",

Installed new gas tank today

Posted

Installed new transfer case, put drive shafts back in, greased all fittings, changed oil and drove it home where I tossed the ten spokes with the snow tires on them into the bed.

not my Comanche but, ... the auto parts store called me, said there was a guy with a 92 Comanche (it was the silver one I saw in mobile a month or so ago) that needed some help finding parts (the oil filter adapter was leaking)... ..on a side note i just remembered that online store i couldn't remember while i was on the phone with the guy..

After two days and 30 miles the fluid leaking out of the transfer case is brown, AGAIN.

Went to replace the output seal, but had trouble to get the old one out. Decided to remove the tail shaft housing so I could work on it on my work bench and found it full of mud

Out comes the new transfer case again to go through a complete teardown this weekend to clean all the mud out and find out how many bearings need to be replaced.

Got it stuck.. Was going down a hill backwards I had just driven up, and didn't see the big log under the brush. The rear axle and bumper were sitting on the log. Ended up having to get dad's CJ to winch it back up the hill far enough to back down around it. My first thought was; "no problem, I'll just gonna winch it out". I quickly realized that the CJ weighs considerably less than the MJ. After trying to use logs and such to chock the wheel, I ended up putting the front bumper up against a tree to keep it from sliding.

Alright, Ive heard people thinking that a MJ is just a modded XJ with a bed.

Today is a new one for me.

How did you swap a v8 in your Cherokee? :fool:

I have the 1990 I6 with Pacesetter Headers and a Cherrybomb glasspack, NO V8! umn.gif :rotf:

Also today I made a bunch of people stare at my MJ. :D

how does it sound? Deep like a v8 and not loud, or deep and loud, or loud.

I am looking for something that will give my Comanche a Deeper sound but not make it too loud, sorta like the v8 in my WK or our Dodge Dakota v8 we had.

I love the ripoff Flowmaster 40 on my ZJ... Here's a vid I made awhile back. The best part of the muffler is the deep idle, which you can hear right toward the end. Almost sounds muscle car-esq.

Better the flow louder it is.

Mine sounds kinda like a straight piped V8 but not that loud... hard to describe. its throaty

added three more rock lights. two more up front pointing at the d30/ground and one above the 35 under the bed so people behind me can watch my flexiness :brows:

Drove the 87 to the mechanic who has just finished installing a 99 XJ motor into my silver 88. Test drove the silver truck and gave the green light to swap several pieces of equipment and parts from the black 88 to the silver 88. ( D44, shocks, budget lift, etc. )

The 87 e-brake cable snapped at the pedal a few days ago. Today I installed a new one from NAPA and it works great. I had also ordered one from Rockauto but the NAPA cable seemed a little better quality.
