jimoshel
Fixed the foot brake by welding the cable. Cable broke about a inch from the pedal. I figured there was enough that I could have another fitting pressed on and be back in business. No way. after burning half a tank of gas looking and not finding anyone that could or would do it, I came back home and welded the broken ends together. Seems to be working. Zenobian_84
Waiting to send off the new Steering Box I spent $150 on to get a refund and then get a new Steering Shaft for $150. Funny how life turns out. Next on my list is a possible purchase of my friend's 93' XJ Laredo. Welcome to the world of having a totally redone interior. Not sure if I'm going to keep the OEM Turquoise Blue in though... :jump:
Boots
Finished my spare tire mount... When I take it out, there's only a 1/2" hole in the bed. The bottom piece stays in though. The bolt is the same size as the lug nuts. Still need to figure out a way to lock it. What do you guys think? Thanks Chad can you drill a hole in the bolt and use a small lock? or use a cable that can be put through the bolt and locked? Or you can make a new bolt out of a piece of all thread and a locking lug nut. Then you just use the key and your lug wrench to remove it. That would also work for your High Lift Jack mount as well. It actually is a piece of all thread with a nut welded on. I thought of the locking lug nut thing, but I want to figure out something a little more secure. And I feel like it would look weird sticking up that far. Don't really want to have to crawl under the truck to unlock it either.... Thanks for all the ideas. deziped
Removed broken rear diff vent hose only to find the plastic connectors were broken on both ends. Are those things still available at dealers ? You mean this guy? http://www.teamgrandwagoneer.com/cgi-bi ... 1&catid=95 Yup, looked all ovet T Cherokee and never ran across it. Will order up a couple, THANKS! What kind of driveline problems was the bad mount giving you? With the loose mount when torque was applied to rear the trf case and drive shaft would flex up thus absorbing the initial torque before frorward momentum took over to move the vehicle. It felt Kind of like having loose ubolts on the axle or a clutch that was slipping a smidgen before it finally grabbed the flywheel
SW86
pulled out the old original leaky radiator and finally put in my new 3 row easy as hell. i don't know why I'm always dragging @$$ on this stuff edit: man temps while crusin' are around 180! vs. the normal 195-200 while cruisin' with the old one. also went on and installed a ZJ V8 tie rod in place of the slightly bent stock one. man what a huge difference. almost like its an after market one. MJRemi
The Grey Goose had a small electric fan in place of the mechanical fan. The aux fan is a curved blade XJ fan and I had an exact fan in my shed from the JY. I removed the small one and fabricated a mounting base with aluminum window framing so the "new" fan will have slots for the tabs. The double curve blade set-up moves a lot of air. Thanks, Hornbrod, for the DIY on this. I used your post as a guide to make this a quality fan set-up.

MJRemi
My battery was weak and the charger I bought from Sears did not work so I returned it and bought a new battery off Craigslist. It's a brand new Duralast 65 for a Jeep GC and ,yes , I also got the receipt and warranty with it. The battery was much larger than my old one so the hood latch assembly came in contact with 1/4" of the plastic "finger grip" on the side of the battery, so I trimmed it with a Dremel just enough to clear the latch. I also fabricated a new hold down tongue since the new battery was too tall for the OME tongue. This battery has 850 cca, 1000 ca, and 125 minutes of reserve. I also removed the 8 Ball shifter knob and replaced it with a plastic handle from a 4" paint roller. Image Not Found Image Not Found

2360
where did you get that soft top bed cover? camper shell thing.... It's homemade. I constructed a wooden frame out of 2x4's and 1x4's. Fastened that to the truck using flat straight and L brackets. Got about 9 yards of cloth at 60" wide, cut that in half and sew them together. Fold and sew sides and ends as required for a snug fit. Used 10 tie downs thingee's with straps for outer sides. Painting cloth helps preserve the material. That's about it.
