What year is your MJ? I have run into differences in the connectors used. I think the cut off is somewhere around 91

My vote would go to the electrolisis (sp?) Its simple easy and not much work involved.

Did anyone else notice they apparently sprayed the entire engine compartment with some sort of flat black paint or coating? Even covered the emissions stickers, hose clamps, everything under the hood is coated except the radiator cap and a few electrical plugs. Seemed odd to me that you would do that to a truck with that low of mileage. Something seems fishy to me. And that sure looks like rust bubbles forming on the upper part of the tailgate. I also spy a beige seatbelt hanger on the passenger side, Indicates to me someone has monkeyed with the seatbelt. I am not arguing that its in really nice shape but it also looks like "typical carlot tricks" have been used here to make it look better than it is.

I too hate how you gotta get all fancyed up to go to the walmart. Dollar tree is much better about their dress code. Lol

Need some more info. When was the last tune up? Plugs wires cap rotor fuel filter air filter should all be checked and or replaced before you chaulk it up to a bad sensor. How old is the o2 sensor? How's the compression? There are a lot of things that can cause a misfire (rough idle). The more we know the closer we will get to the problem.

Definately a sign the starter is going. Fwiw mine has been doing the same thing for a couple of months. I have just been too lazy to change it. I just carry a lug wrench under my seat.

Thats what I planned on doing. Gotta get it fixed or it will just come back again. Oh and BTW it is disgusting what comes out of 20+ yr old carpet when you pressure wash it.

Ok got an update. New floor is in and finished along with the TJ shift boot. The boot fit perfectly. We officially have a fix. So here is what I started with. Treated the rust with some rust inhibitor paint. Then I formed up a new floor out of 16ga. sheet. Doesn't look factory but my feet won't fall through any time soon. Here it is after a couple of coats of primer. I bought a used TJ boot off ebay cheap after the suggestion was made on here in another thread that they worked. so I pulled my old shift boot and installed the TJ boot. Exact fit. I was very pleased we found a solution to the problem. Then I reinstalled all of the now dry pad and carpet. Although in hindsight that was a mistake because I haven't found the leak that caused it to get wet yet. :doh: So sometime in the near future it will all come back out to allow me to diagnose the leak and repair it.

Ok I will give that a shot and see if it works.

I gotta find a solution to the lower shifter boot. Mine is shredded and currently taped up with electrical tape to keep it from falling down on the trans. Anyone got any ideas on a replacement? Even if it is a little different shape where it mounts to the tunnel I can live with that. I would love an exact replacement but I belive we determined awhile ago none were available. So any ideas?

Well I got alot done last night. I managed to get my carpet pulled up and started cleaning floors. Need to do some repairs. I am hoping to weld in new floors today. Gotta find my leaks first. My carpet pad was soaked and smelled like dirty feet. It is now hanging in the garage drying. Does anyone know how to dry the white heat sheild thingies in the plastic bags? I remember reading somewhere they were fiberglass but didn't know for sure. Once I get the leaks fixed and the floor repaired it will get a coat of POR and then a layer of bedliner for added protection. Followed by my pad and clean carpet.
