  1. My first was chosen by dad. I don't agree with his taste and still don't. I beat it like a redheaded stepchild untill I destroyed it. Then bought my cj. Anyways it was dark grey with red trim, sorry no actual pics but it was a 79 like the pic.
  2. Don't forget to pull the door braces from inside the doors.
  3. Only time mine don't leak is when they are empty. Lol
  4. I prefer the k9 namesake. Never had a dog give me diabetes.
  5. It truly an honor to share a name with a beloved K9.
  6. Real jeeps are built not bought. Its truly funner that way.
  7. Muffler and tailpipe installed last night. Took it for about 5-6miles of country road cruising. So far all is well, would love to run it to town and back (10mi round trip), but no insurance yet limits how much I wanna be driving it. Top and doors came off today, hoping to get the insurance taken care of monday.
  8. There is a special bleeding methid for comanches due to the load sensing valve in the rear.
  9. Thats tempting. But its not gonna be a road trip vehicle. Small trips to town and such will be the most it sees.
  10. Got the new fuel filler and vent hose today so I put the tank back in and changed the oil. Fired right off thanks to the previously installed electric pump. I was shocked to find a keyed gas cap, not because its keyed, but because its key matched to the hardtop and doors. Let her idle and come around a bit before taking a lap around the yard followed by a trip down the road and back (just a mile). Drives like a cj, rides like a cj, sounds like a cj, I'm in love again. Next one the list is a transmission service, transfer case service, and a muffler and tailpipe are in order. Them its time to figure out why 45 feels less like "shaking hands with danger" and more like "climbing in the back sat of an old plymouth at the drive in with danger". Not exactly something I want to let the wife drive yet. It was definitely "exciting" to say the least. Every bump in the road was a direction change, you just can't tell which direction or how fast it was gonna happen. 87b6aa32-dc05-4003-b9f0-90d36a71ee68.mp4
  11. D300 for sure. Feed her some 80/90weight and got for its. Great case.
  12. I seem to recall a mber using closed cell foam to fill the gap between the fender and lower a-pillar in front of the door hinges to help with wind noise. Not sure who or when though.
  13. When I had leaky vent windows in always just glued a penny to the frame under the latch. I suppose a guy could drill and tap the latch then thread a panhead screw in it to work as an adjuster of sorts.
  14. I believe the shims will only fit one way due to their shape. The shims go between the starter and the block to help maintain the correct distance between the starter gear and flywheel.
  15. Vector end of discussion.
  16. The wiper arms will interchange without modification. The newer motor is supposed to be faster if believe.
  17. If your clutch master is leaking take a close look at the fuse block area on the inside. The clutch master is known to leak in the fuse block and cause issues. Edit: spelling
  18. There is never a clydesdale in the kentucky derby ......
  19. Thats what best in its class performance is like, even if it is close to 40yrs old. Its part of the reason I was drawn to mj's. They are stout for their size and very capable, trust me I have pushed the boundaries of my trucks payload and trailering abilities and was impressed to say the least.
  20. Hit it the same but from the bottom up. I'd choose oil tip her pliers as suggested. Slow work goes wrong at a much slower pace. Better to break the cap with pliers than smash it and half the truck with a hammer.
  21. I seem to remember someone already added headrest to a nonheadrest bench. But can't remember who. I believe it was one of the epic builds.....
  22. Wrong seats No headliner No center console Wrong carpet Interior looks like it wasnt even cleaned along with the respray job i think they ars a little high on the price. However it does look good on the exterior.
  23. ITS ALIVE!!!!! Well sorta. Got it to idle off a gas jug. Didnt want to run it long just wanted to confirm its healthy. Now its time to get the oils changed and service a transmission. Also getting a muffler and tailpipe since those are mia.
  24. Nothing is stuck if its liquid.
