  1. That implies a desire to recover from said addiction. Some of us are content with addiction.
  2. Plans are too clean and repair only. I have a modded cj, this ones stays stock to drive and enjoy.
  3. It is defiantly not a southern jeep. Has lived its entire life in my home town here in northern indiana. Not a complete rust bucket but not perfect. However I will be 3rd owner, and know both the previous owners. It is stock as you will find. Not even a lift. 98,000 miles. Edit: 1977
  4. Meet the newest add to the fleet. . 98'000 original miles. No mods planned. Only repairs. Its definitely a survivor.
  5. Blue circle is vacuum for the map sensor. Thats your running problem.
  6. Do you think the solid wire core in mine would indicate replacement at some time?
  7. New will probably not exist at this point. We are most likely stuck with used or possibly an aftermarket replacement. To my knowledge no one is making replacements. You will probably have to source a used one
  8. Ok ok who left the kids unattended? Wasn't someone on the schedule to watch you guys?
  9. Ok I just took a look at the parts truck to see what I had wrong. Is the "core" of the cable supposed to be a solid wire or a woven cable? My truck has a solid core, however the parts truck appears to be a woven cable. I ask because my solid core cable seems to be sliding in the clip on the heater box arm.
  10. So I have a problem with my temp cable. It came unhooked under the dash at the box. No big deal its happened before. Just put it back on. However this time its like the cable has stretched. Not sure whats going on. Any idea? Would there be a connection on the back of the hvac controls that would of come lose and allowed the cable to move? Strange part is the plastic tab that anchors the lower part of the sheathing to the heater box is in place to its almost like the "core" wire has stretched somehow.
  11. Disappointed to see it come to an end. However glad to see you made it home safe. Excited to see the next adventureb around the world maybe?
  12. Have we learned nothing from recent events? Sorry for the outburst there, have your checked ignition timing?
  13. Check your hazard switch in the column. I know mine can occasionally get bumped to the point its almost half engaged and causes my signals to do goofy stuff. I just pull it or push it (I don't remember which way is off ) and all is right again
  14. Calm down. Let us get hvac foam first. Lol
  15. Noticed a wet spot on the drivers rear tire a few weeks ago. Crawled underneath an could immediately smell brake fluid. Great. The cheap @$$ wheel cylinder must have crapped out. Guess ill order some new ones and tackle it when parts arrive. Fast forward to the day my new wheel cylinders arrive. Start on the drivers side to begin installing new wheel cylinder. Before I start tearing into removing the brakes I like to tackle the hard lines first. As soon as I touch the hard line it snaps free from the wheel cylinder. So after a bit of profanity I pulled the drum to realize the wheel cylinder is fine. I had a (replaced by me) hard line failure. Ok no problem. The last I did the hard line was when I swapped axles. I admittedly half assed the hard lines. So time to fix them was today. Roll of brake line and fittings from the jungle website and a few hours of later, everything came to a screeching halt..... No really, I drove the truck and it stopped right now, and didnt lose any juice. In calling it a success, except for the axle breather. That stupid plastic thing is snapped off. Gonna just break down and tap the hole for a brass nipple. Seems to be a good option. Unless someone has a better idea.
  16. Congrats
  17. I think those are solid stock where this appears to be a tube. Seems more amc era than chrysler era in my experience. Fender brace for a cj comes to mind.
  18. Definately one of the cooler mj's out there. I really dig the look and the idea.
  19. And some of us are faced with a 1400+ mile drive one way. Definitely gonna need some planning time to organize the caravan of mj's that will be headed west. Lol
  20. I would definitely be interested. I have long dreamed of a trip to moab, maybe us scheduling something will motivate me enough to just go. I voted for fall of '27 or later. I think that will give me enough time to figure out a few small bugs and investigate some rock sliders also. Oh and gotta find an a.c. leak. Pretty sure it will be needed. Lol
  21. Yup I am definitely missing the adventure of driving a cj......... Glad you made it.
  22. Not controversial at all, just dumb. Just take the bus or call and uber. don't but a car if your too lazy to drive.
