  1. Those wheels are fantastic. They go perfectly with the truck.
  2. This is probably the most unique and fascinating MJ I've ever seen. A 92 4.0/5speed 4x4 Metric Ton would be exceptional on its own, and this is on an entirely different scale. We need those interior pics
  3. Couldn't be any more true.
  4. Oil on the passenger side of the engine strongly points to the oil filter adapter as well. It wouldn't get oil on the front, but it's probably leaking anyway.

This thing brings back memories of what my truck looked like before I got it (although mine was parked for 8 and a half years). I think it'd clean up well if someone put the effort into it.
  6. You can buy new carpet (that actually does fit the MJ's floor!) from stockinteriors.com if you want new carpet - it does need the holes for the seat mounts, etc cut in it but it apparently fits well.
  7. Owners manuals and FSMs are still available as reprints on RockAuto, but I'm sure you know that already.
  8. Nothing crazy about it at all IMO... if it still works and runs good, why not drive it?
  9. Nice. I'll probably end up doing this at some point, so nice to see someone's gone and done it already
  10. It's clean, but there's a number of trucks on here that are just as clean. 10k is a bit much now... he should wait a few years. Every day, there's less MJs out there. Those wheels are hid-eee-us though.
  11. 20 minute 'Shop of the day coming right up! I know the proportions are a bit off but this is what a longbed MJ with a camper might look like. Pic is some 86 I found on the internet. With some time I could make it better, but I have class soon :fs1:
  12. The HO makes more power at higher revs than the Renix but the Renix is somewhat better at the low end. (224ftlb @ 2200 for the Renix vs 225ftlb @ 4000 for the HO) although the HO engine still has more than enough low end torque. The real benefit to the HO is easier to find parts, (limited) diagnostics, and less electrical trouble, although I'm not sure if swapping HO electronics over is worth it when you have Cruiser's Renix tips. The AW4 is without a doubt a more reliable trans than the BA-10 is. The AW4 can be made to work. I'm not sure how much of the AW4's wiring you'd need to deal with. Of course, if you just swap the HO engine and keep everything else the same (you can relatively easily swap an HO engine in while keeping the Renix setup), it'll pretty much perform like a Renix engine.
  13. :agree: This a million times over. We (referring to the group, I'm not trying to take credit for anything) are trying to help you but you have to pull your weight too.
  14. Is the switch making good contact with the pedal? Best to start simple. If you listen closely you might also be able to hear it as you're pressing and releasing the pedal.
  15. I've had these shocks (as well as regular SensaTracs for the front) for a few months now, and I'm quite happy still. I've hauled several pretty heavy loads and never has the truck gone below level. They seem to have slightly raised the rear when unloaded as well.
  16. The above guys have it right... National, Timken, Centric - I'd use any of those.
  17. As far as the assembly itself and procedure, yes. Although the parts might be different.
  18. Yep, pinned means that they will always be the top few you see.
  19. A million times what the above guys said.
  20. I've been chasing a similar issue and it's been getting worse recently but for a few days went away entirely so I thought I had it fixed. I'm over a hundred miles from most of my tools but I'll definitely keep an eye on this thread.
  21. Not gonna lie, I think that looks really cool. IMO it'd look even better lifted.

    Rusted Out MJ

What's wrong with it? Clearly it just has the relatively common Weight Reduction package.
  23. This. The LCAs go in with slight modification and minor swearing and do make a difference. Just buy new ones - junkyard control arm bushings are pretty much guaranteed to be trashed by now since the newest WJ is now 10 years old. I've heard some conflicting reports about the uppers. According to members here, the brake booster swap is a little easier from a WJ than the typical 95/96 XJ.
  24. I feel your pain, but there is hope. I found this place in Mt Juliet, its called Express Pull and Save. I can't comprehend how any other JY stays in business with them around, it blows my mind. Here is their price list. http://www.expresspullnsave.com/pricelist.aspx I am just gonna stop now before i start ranting about how awesome this place, cause i really REALLY like going there. Yeah, I first discovered that place a few months ago. Still haven't been there but I'd really love to go as soon as time and $$$ allows. AND they're open on weekends! I just noticed that it's less than 20 minutes off course on my route between Columbia and Cookeville. That information may or may not come in handy later :brows:
  25. I'd imagine that the logical thing to go there would be a cupholder of some sort. Not sure how much space there is to work with, since I don't have one myself.
