    Option catalog?

Did something like this ever exist, or am I just losing my mind? (betcha you can't answer that one, heh  ) I swear a long time ago someone posted a catalog of the different options you could order an MJ with, and their cost. This is important to a project I'm working on. If anyone could find what I described if it exists then I would be eternally grateful.

    Rusted Out MJ

All this talk about frame damage is making me worry (probably irrationally) that there's something bad going on on mine that I haven't seen yet
  3. People sometimes talk about attention to detail around here. THIS is attention to detail. You're making me want to go and take all my head bolts off now  This is the kind of thing I really like to see.
  4. AFAIK most XJs have these and some MJs. Hardest part about installing/removing it is getting yer noggin under the dash.
  5. That would definitely be helpful. Do you have a voltmeter and know how to test for continuity? I can get you a pic in a bit. I may or may not be able to get my hands on a meter to test that for you.
  6. Would a pic of the connector help at all? My MJ has delay headlights.
  7. I've been wanting to swap buckets into the MJ for a very long time... this isn't helping :D
  8. 91s don't have speedo cables. Once the electrical plug is free then the cluster is out. Yeah, there are tabs on the top and bottom that will let you release the plug. It probably hasn't moved in decades so it probably will require some tugging.
  9. Seems like the quality of the vehicle does indeed match the quality of the ad, then.
  10. “NEED WINDOWS OUTSIDE TRIMS BECAUSE THEY ARE PEALING AND THE PLASTIC SEAL ITS CRACK BECAUSE THE SUN, IN THE BUMPER HAS DE HOLES FOR LIBERTY FOG LIGHTS, SOME SPEAKERS ARE DISCONECT OR HAS SOME BAD CABLE AND NEED SOME WORK ON THE CARPET, THE PASSANGER SIDE LOCK ACTUATOR IS NOT WORKING, CRACK WINDSHIELD” In English, please? :hmm:
  11. Lost power for a little while but otherwise it wasn't too bad. The worst of it went right above and below Columbia so we're quite lucky. There's quite a few areas without power in the county though.
  12. The Least Interesting Build Thread Update In The History of, Like, Ever: October 2014 I had two extra days home this weekend (today and tomorrow). Naturally, I decided to do truck fixin' rather than normal things, like play with my dog: If you've watched the video updates, I was troubleshooting a starter that seemed to crank slower and slower every day. For about a week it magically fixed itself and then went right back to the same old thing. Today, as I was leaving the grocery store, the truck barely cranked at all. Rather than having my starter seize up 120 miles from home, I decided it was time to get to the bottom of this. I didn't take many pics, so imagine that at first there's a starter in the frame, then there isn't. One of the pics might have a pun or something for a caption. I took the starter to the parts store and had it tested. Normally they can't tell you much besides whether or not the drive pops out or not, but my starter sounded absolutely dreadful on the test rig, so I bought a reman one and installed it. ... which hopefully puts an end to several months of starting issues. I also did a brake job on a friend of mine's (same friend that broke down a few posts earlier) '01 Impala that replaced his hilariously troublesome Chevy truck. The dude that sold it to him swore up and down that it had new brakes on it. :bs: I also changed my oil. The multitude of leaks are starting to get worse. Over Christmas break (starting in 2 months) that's all going to change. Until then I'll need to carefully monitor my oil level. Total Expenditures since January 2014: $2,470.00 Junkyard Parts: Door panels: 1988 Jeep Cherokee Limited Front bumper guards: 1992 Jeep Cherokee Sport Windshield wiper motor: 1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport Tailgate handle: 1989 Jeep Comanche Mud flaps: 1987 Jeep Comanche Interior Quarter Panels: 1989 Jeep Comanche Courtesy Lights: 1994 Jeep Cherokee Country Maintenance Status: Oil changed 6qt generic 10W-30, 154,269 Brake pads, rotors, fluid and calipers replaced at 152,455 Brake shoes, drums, hardware and wheel cylinders replaced at 152,295 Starter replaced at 154,269 Odometer: 154,269 (christ, these miles are starting to rack up) :group beer:
  13. To be more specific, sometime in early August would probably be best for me. Might get a chance to stuff some more fun things into the MJ by that point :brows:
  14. My summer is from May 7 to August 20. Some time in June or July would be perfect.
  15. I suspect you're right. The 2.5 weighs a good bit less than the 4.0.
  16. Most stuff in my experience is metric but there's always the odd english size thrown in there just to mess with you. If I had a choice between only using one set, I'd say I use metric more often for the stuff I do (never opened up the engine for example)
  17. Would these be safe to use in an engine? Granted it doesn't say how old they are, but I figured that they had a shelf life.
  18. ZJ: 176.3 " exterior length 69.3 " exterior body width 64.8 " exterior height MJ: overall length = 165.3" - 168.8" overall width = 67.9" - 70.5" height = 64" No.
  19. The older XJs had so much more style. Very nice.
  20. The AW4 (the auto trans behind the 4.0) was available with the 2.5 for a short period of time. If you can find a bellhousing (or a complete trans) for the AW4 that matches your GM bolt pattern, you might think of swapping it it. Its overdrive will help on the highway for sure. If you can't find one (they are quite rare) the TorqueFlite A904 was the only auto for XJs 84-86 and 86 MJs and will work just fine. It's also not electronically controlled like the AW4 is. As it was said, a 2.5/4spd truck should have a 3.55 final drive gear ratio. With the 2.5 and an automatic, 3.55s will be a horrible nightmare to drive. The typical final drive ratio for 4 cylinder automatics was 4.56. This will be a necessary change unless you want to drive your truck on lawnmower tires. (don't do that)
  21. Small little bite sized tiny itty bitty nitpick: There a few hundred MJs produced in 1992, but the vast majority of MY1992 trucks were built in 1991. "Real" '92s are quite highly coveted indeed. A '93 MJ is very, very, very interesting if it's true. I wonder if it was made in a factory or stuck together by a bunch of guys. The added on parts of the interior look pretty rudimentary - makes sense, considering this probably is a one-off prototype. Side note: I've always wondered what a true extended cab MJ would look like. This is way cool, though.
  22. 2.5/4speed manual should have 3.55 gears just like the 4.0/auto. The transmission will not bolt up to your 2.5 without replacing the bellhousing. Although I strongly doubt you'd want to drive a 2.5 auto truck with 3.55s.
